I would love to see what types of things you are eating now with the non processed omnivore diet! Thank you for sharing so openly!

Love your honesty Arianna! We are all different, we all come from different places and we grow and change throughout life. We learn and adapt to the environment around us. Thanks for being you!

Hey girl! Things change, life changes, locations change, we grow, we learn, and we evolve. I appreciate your honesty. I can very much relate when I was eating only whole foods, no sugar, no gluten, and no dairy. I became very depressed and sad about all the things I couldn't eat. It was depressing to say the least. Best of luck continuing your new journey! Keep on trucking! Don't worry.

So happy to see you doing well, I was literally just thinking about when you’ll post again yesterday. We all go through our seasons in life, our needs and wants are not steadfast and change as we grow as people. I’m happy you’re doing what good for you.

I'm so excited! Honestly, I haven't watched in a long time because I have zero interest in being vegan and wasn't fully ready to commit to minimalism. I've finally started working toward it now though. However, most of the minimalist channels I watch are already set in their minimalism while I'm just starting out with five kids underfoot. So, getting from where I am to (my version of) where they are is so overwhelming. Maybe, going through the process with someone else (who already knows what they're doing) will help me. 💞

I was vegan from the beginning of 2017 to about the middle of 2020. Like you, I originally went vegan for health reasons with the information I had at the time. While I absolutely think you can be healthy on a whole food plant based diet, I now also recognize the health benefits of nourishing traditional animal based foods (raw milk and dairy, pasture raised meats, bone broths, pastured eggs, etc). I now follow closer to the Weston Price/pro-metabolic diet and we have been thriving. Plus, with talks of food shortages and the craziness of the world we live in now and the fact that I live in a cold climate and can't garden all year round, eating animal based foods and being self-sustainable is the way to go. Good for you! Thank you for speaking on it with authenticity.

It’s ok to try different lifestyles. You can try as many as you need to in order to find one that works for you and your family. Right now, I am eliminating gluten and white table sugar. I felt so much better on week 2. I am going to cut out dairy next. It is trial and error. I love that you just do you! Keep being your own person! It is something I admire about you. 😇

She surprisingly took to it well. But we also mainly eat chicken and Turkey, which she knows they have a much better end of life experience than other animals. So that has made her much more okay with it. She is having a hard time with us talking about raising our own animals for food, but she seems to be understanding more as we explain about why it is better if we raise our own verses buy from the store.
@GrumpyCanCan

@@ariannapflederer and she can see the process and the way y'all raise them compared to not knowing the process on the food that is store bought. I agree I eat more chicken than I do steak. And its understandable that it may be hard living with others that are not minimalist and/or vegan. Once in your own house and settled who knows what will happen....ebb and flow of life.

It’s good to see you again. I’m glad y’all are doing well. I totally understand about the Whole Foods plant based because it does take time. I found my self buying a little bit of vegan packaged foods to help. It’s challenging unless you keep your options to a minimal and eat the same thing all the time in different ways. It’s a process and I’m still trying to do the best I can especially being the only one in my family eating this way. God bless!

I was born into a vegetarian family. I've been vegetarian for 34 years. I get lumped with the vegans often. I'm glad you mentioned the toxicity of certain vegan circles. We are all different. My husband eats meat but my kids don't. We have recently bought 6 acres and have chickens and love seeing your life and I'd love to get our own milk etc. I know vegetarian is different than vegan but thank you for speaking out about your reasons. Also, I need more motivation on the minimalism front! Love your journey ❤

Would you ever consider talking about how you talk about food with your kids? I don't have an eating disorder but for long time I had bad experience growing up and I want to be better about both my relationship and speaking to my daughter about food.

I'm always interested on how people get their whole family to eat healthier.. I feel like that's such a struggle. And healthy is such a relative term... but I'd love to see meal ideas like u used to do, I'm always looking to feed my family more real food. . I have a 7 year old girl and I'm also struggling with her and her conversations about food.. she started looking at calories and sugar content on packages and asking what's healthy and what isnt.. and I know she learned that from hearing me.. I'm really trying to get her away from doing that but its so hard....

Im definitely open to sharing some of our meals! We are not exactly where I want to be yet, but I know that a large part of that is just current living situations and sharing kitchen space. I’m excited to get back to how we really like to eat!

Homesteading means less of some things and more of others. Less indoor entertainment but more items to do with preserving and growing and maintaining property. The house (except kitchen) gets emptied but the shed gets filled lol

I also found being plant based stressful. My daughter has a peanut and tree nut allergy so we don’t have anything in the house that contains or may contain them. I felt like I was always reading labels and I wasn’t able to make everything from scratch due to shortage of time so I found it stressful shopping. I didn’t want to be part of the vegan community because I found it to be a competition as to who was the veganist vegan. It was only me in the family who was plant based and with two kids with major food aversions I found that I’d end up just eating bread or pasta. I wasn’t taking care of myself. I lasted a year (2012) and I went back to being vegetarian. I feel guilty about it. I’ve been vegetarian since 1990.

Not that my opinion matters AT ALL, but I was always raised and taught (in terms of food/diet) everything in moderation. Too much of anything can be bad, and not enough of something can be just as bad. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, I guess what I am saying is that I agree with your choice to not be vegan anymore (again, not that my opinion matters lol). Glad everyone is doing well and I'm loving seeing the house progress on the other channel and your Instagram!

Curious if you guys have had any “health” issues reintroducing animal products? We don’t eat pork but went to a bbq a while back where they only had pulled pork and my husband and I felt HORRIBLE for almost a week.
@ariannapflederer
@ariannapflederer 2 года назад
To my surprise we have not had any issues at all. But we mostly eat eggs from our chickens or friends chickens, raw cheese, chicken, and Turkey. We eased into animal products with some of the best options, so I think that’s why we don’t really react when we do have other animals products now!
@OliviaNoelle96
@OliviaNoelle96 2 года назад
@@ariannapflederer that’s good! They say pork is the worst meat for you so we avoid it and eat mostly poultry as well but I was just curious if the reintroduction had any effects. I hope the switch has made things easier on you!

That could possibly be because you introduced an unclean animal to your system. The Bible lets us know what animals are clean and unclean for consumption and I'm starting to take that more seriously.
