If.. if only 3 left to go, not surprise thing. Its 8 years game and all dlc was free also a new game is coming. Love this game but if they need to move next step, then ok let them go.
i've bred my pets to be extremely aggressive but only some of them would eat what they kill, the weirdest part is one of the ones who doesn't eat prey is a carnivore dinosaur.
What if it's three updates to finish the other line? And then a lot of updates appear. Since it's a massive year for no man's sky... And three updates aren't going to cut it. I think it's going to be not ending.
It makes no sense that they would update the game with technology from the future, only to then quit? The game is still relevant after all these years. There's plenty more they could do to flesh out the game in unique ways. There was a time in recent memory that people said: NMS will never get ship customization because NMS is procedural game and it can't be done. Then we got an update that let us build customizable staffs. Then I thought, well if they can do that there's no reason we couldn't get a customizable space ship option.... then shortly after the ship customization became reality. And certainly nothing like I thought it would be... like more materials. I can only hope this leads to something more... like a self built printer (anywhere) or maybe limited to user base on planet to then feed a new era of stranded missions. Maybe a mad max era in space. The notion based upon *Hey, this isn't rocket science OR DIY space travel with kinks* They have now where your fleet goes out on missions then calls you for help, what if you could call them for help?*
i wouldn't complain if the next 3 updates would be the last but i think they will continue updating NMS to transfer what they can from LNF, it's a great marketing strategy
What happens to NMS will depend on HG's internal structure. One means of kicking NMS forward would be to turn it into a training ground for new hires. Of course, that would depend on HG's interest in expanding its employee count and continuing to grow NMS. Let's hope they don't fall prey to an HR department. There's a certain amount of crossover code that HG can use, water quality, for example. HG's obviously reusing style components from NMS. It will be interesting to see what happens with 'generative code' (or whatever they call it) in LNF. Only one planet, no waiting!
The team said themselves that they will eventually stop the major updates ( when Light no Fire drops), but also said they will never outright just abandon the game!
If LNF is a multiplayer game, they must be working on the multiplayer aspect. and if so, maybe, just maybe, NMS will get multiplayer update "from the future" too?
They have done this earlier in development. They put out a post with a few blurred images just like this. There have been many updates since. Conspiracy can be dangerous as it leads to misinformation and confusion and some with low IQ take is serious.
The reason why they can work on 2 games with a team of 20-30 people is because Light no fire is No Man Sky on a single planet... It is basically a mod. All the new tech they are implementing on that game is making it to NMS, so that is why you see updates for NMS and at the same time a new game being made. Which is fine in the end, but eventually they will drop NMS as everyone got it at this point, and people that are not interested in it won't buy it because they simply don't like the survival game that NMS is. So instead of making DLCs for NMS they made a totally "new" game; and sell it for full price; which make totally sense in the end.
imagine if you could own a system and then you set the rules for whoever enters that system is under the options you selected like player dmg cant be cheesed by turning it off, and set the rules for visiblity such as your char does not ping a marker when outside of ship- the player who mouses of your system gets a readout of what rules are set on and warning that player damage is on, so if you have made a pvp system they are not tricked into going there. or they could just give us a nexus mission that has a temporary set of rules- all players can be damaged by other players, winner gets some units, losers gets less units, no one loses loot or damages components from losing. most players dont know how amazing space pvp in NMS is, when you actually vs opponent that doesnt cheese the options. the nexus missions could be ranked so an S class fighter cannot vs a low tier, but lower tiers can sign up to fight group leader's S class if chose to and lower tiers are allowed to equip S class components, so if you want a different pacing of a fight you would lead the mission with a C class fighter which only other C class fighters could join that mission.
I REALLY hope they add all the expeditions to play at any time along with all the rewards. give those who missed some expeditions a chance to get the rewards. I have played since launch but haven't really kept up with every single expedition. I want the first expedition ratchet and clank style items.
I’d like to know why this community can’t just leave shit alone. It’s almost as if people want the game to stop receiving updates. Seems like every time an update comes out all I see is “is this the last update?”. It’s fucking annoying at this point.
I think you are correct on both counts. The tiles are place holders and they have planned updates, the real questions are when can they release them, what additions to the lore and how long between. We still don't have a clue about ' Glass, glass, glass' or if us players will go there.
Ha Spoiler one of them is called worlds part II .... That means 2 updates and 2 expeditions from 16 , current expedition of this post is number 14 liquidators .
I also think this is cool but I also think the focus of the game is exploration. However I do think there should be seperate galaxy where this is possible for those that want it.
I think theres too much hype surrounding nms right now, they wouldnt pull the plug just 3 updates after having a surge of new consecutive players, I wouldn't mind if that really was the end, but nms is like a evolving title for them. I dont see them stopping work on it anytime soon
I hope so. I bought a physical copy way back for my PS4. When it went on sale recently, I got a digital copy for my PS5 for both the convenience and to help support the studio. I'm fine with my purchases either way but hopefully they can keep it going for a while yet.
I think that the spots in the picture as just that, nothing more. I do think that the game is going to come to an end fairly soon, like less than 10 free updates left. Maybe they will add DLC's after that, or just focus on Light no fire. I just feel that they are running out of things they can do with the game, without a major overhaul.
What if it was telling what they planned to add next year. Giving a roadmap for next year. Since World 1 just dropped I think they are gonna need a few months to make another big update. I honestly feel like the first will not drop until January-ish, then again this is based on the first, Foundation update I think it was, which took around 4 months after release to put out. I could be wrong, but even with passionate people projects take time. I am hyped all the same.
I don’t believe hello games would walk away from nms. If they did imo that would be ok. They have went above and beyond for this game. Hello games is an amazing company.
I am thinking that Light No Fire is coming out Summer of 2025. I think they are either going to push the last 3 updates out before the year is done or they are going to space the updates out with the last big update for NMS being in april and then release NMS either in June or July.

Nah, I think there is plenty more to come! But think there is only so much planned ahead and they are just blurring out the "KNOWN and for certain" expansions. Because even in the video he said No Man's Sky is never actually done, it always grows. Something along those lines anyway Totally excited for whatever they have in store for us! But goodness I hope they tackle the weird planets some, I live on them and like to see them make them even more quirky!
Good point but hello games won't reset the universe. But i can see sean and the team adding way more life in the universe such as new biomes and assets. Same with underwater. But a reset? They wont do that due to already tweaking the universe last update. But it's a step in the right direction 👌👍 bring on worlds part 2@@plo617
I'll be honest, I thought this game was going to flop and free fall into oblivion. Say what you want about hello games but they kept their promise and committed to the community with free updates, they did it when no one else would. They brought my hope back for gaming with that. Yes they launched and it was grossly underwhelming, but they promised to fix it and they did it.
