This works great! I took about two hours to find three good systems, warp to them, set up a base at each, and started running laps ... Made about 30 Million in less than two hours of running the lap. I figure if I run it just one time every time I log on, and keep my frigates out on missions, I should never have a money problem again! Thanks for the great tip!!

@9:25 talking about star ship inventories, they hold more per slot than the exosuit depending on the item stored there. You can also use your exosuit cargo storage to get more in there too and upgrade those slots at the space station to get more slots.

@Ramón I think back then your ship held a lot more of one particular item than the exosuit. The capitol ship held more than the starship. I have not played in over a year, and I don't think it is the case this really true anymore.

I use the three system route also.. "The Duck tells a fib" - Easy way to remember the order. -- Economy reset seems to be based on game play time now so I setup a 9 system loop that earns me 70+mil in about 15-20min EDIT: You missed 2 things. 1. The amount of an item a trader or minor outpost carries can be different on the same planet so look around before you pick & you want 160+ (The system is linked for the economy so no need to setup at more than 1 place for each system) 2. Transfer everything from your suit into your ship before starting

Quite frustrating that the blue on economy scanner is very close to purple so it's a pain when they have light blue aswell🤔

I've been looking for different ways to make money in NMS. After buying and selling Cobalt and Chlorine, and the chlorine expansion method, and scrapping ships, I wanted to try something different. So I'm trying this trading method. Started a new expeditions save (my old one got corrupted) and got a nice 1 million unit gift from a space anomaly item, and sold some geodites to about 10 million units. Used about 8 million or so to start this method. Now just looking for a system with good sell/buy prices within my limited jump range. I've been to like at least 10 space stations and none of them are selling S class hyperdrive.

shouldn't you always sell to ships, to avoid the price of the product going down by altering the economy in the long run? i'm not sure this is really viable long term, using the same systems to buy and sell the same goods over and over should make it less profitable every time, for what i experienced anyways. do outposts work differently?

Isn't it better long term to just go for the highest buy or sell individually and make a route that includes 6 planets instead of 3? It's a teleport away and if you settle for 22% buy for example you are paying 8% more because you don't want one extra teleportation. 8% of 10m is 800k for one extra teleport

I just set up my trade route, flipped my 7mill units, to a nice 13.6 mill units.. then a A class 28,7 carrier showed up at my last drop, not even 3 minutes after I cashed in… needless to say I’m broke but It was worth it lol at least I think so

@Ramón I haven't tried that, but I did the 3 system loop ( Trade - Adv Materials - Science), but with 6 systems. It works great but you have to wait quite a while in game before the trade terminals have full stock again.

@Ramón its not so much limited stock, more like the economy reset time! I figure if the economy reset takes a while then ill get enough to last me. I have around 85m now, so its gonna be a while until I need units again.

Not sure how long it takes for stock refresh, but I'd assume it would be similar to the crashing economy method, which I've heard can be anywhere from 2-24 hours real time. I would think the closer it is to -80% the longer it takes to reset, but it could also depend on stock and what others sell to that system. I'm also not sure HG has specifically said, just that they nerfed the economy crashing a bit.

I found one of those worlds. It was annoying to do it that way because the fossils are too far apart and you have to fly around and take off so many times. It took me an hour to make a few million that way. Later I made 5 million in 15 minutes just buying and selling cobalt on space stations and teleporting to like 6 different stations to crash and buy back. I just do my other things for a few hours while the economies reset and repeat.

Why does damaged machinery still give you loot when you don’t repair them? I went to open one up and it said I needed 20 chromatic metal but I didn’t have any chromatic metal what so ever, but when I closed out of the damaged machinery menu it sill gave me a the loot, lol. Is this a bug?

Joseph Garmon Yes, definitely. The game has come a long way since launch and the Devs are still adding free content. You’ll never run out of things to do and there’s plenty of ways to make money.

Actually you would make more money buying the lowest % item. The best way to think about this is. Let’s say you buy a item for 12 million units with - .001% Of the msrp .If you bought 100 it would cost 1.2 billion units. Then let’s say you sell them for Even msrp you’d make 1 unit. But if you bought only 1 item that was 10 units. And -10% of the msrp. And sold it for even msrp you’d make 100 units. So basically what I’m saying is highest price doesn’t make best profit. Best return makes the best profit. But if you can only buy 100 items for 5 units each. Making 300% profit that’s only 1,500 profit. It really matters what the price is vs msrp. If you’re unsure see how much money you’re spending 100mill units. -25%. You’re going to make 25million units minimum probably a good buy. Something that’s cost 100,000 units.- 25%. You’re going to make 25,000. So what to look for. Number of units+ price of unit + % of unit

Wrong, you make the most buying the most expensive even if it's lower % because there's a limited quantity. Even if you can get a 100% return on an item but there's only 10k worth of it. You only make 20k. But if an item with a 10% return and there's 5mil worth of it. You make back 5.5mil. That is the case in nms where we see items that's 60% off but there's only like 50k-200k worth of it meanwhile the more expensive item that is 20% off, there's 5-10mil worth of it

I've started a new game 3 times trying to get all this figured out. Your talking in hieroglyphs as far as I can tell with trade routes and classes of ships. I have a nice wooden base with 2 shed sized buildings so far. Watching your empire just humiliate my efforts isn't going to help me log back into game. Guess it's time to either commit or fade into the cosmos.

This is pretty complicated, and requires a lot of preparation, etc. just go to any wealthy system, dock at the station, buy all the wiring looms you can hold, warp to another system, sell them (crashes the market) now buy them all back, plus some, at a discounted price, and jump to another system, rinse and repeat over and over and youll have 500m in like an hour
