The fact that half the stuff Habie’s marveling at for the first time in this video (volcanoes, ewok huts, eye-worm-creatures, etc) is stuff that’s actually been in the game for years is truly a testament to the scale of the NMS universe.
I don't wanna call you a liar but I've played this game for a long time and I stopped seeing new things after around the 5th hour of gameplay, and I started slow. every time a new update hits, I jump back on to see all the new stuff, and I'm met with more of the same sort. the latest big update is a great example. I think it changed some things, but I can't really tell, because at this point everything looks the same. all the structures look the same, all the planets look the same, it may as well all be called the same. there's nothing about this game that feels unique or refreshing, and the visual aesthetic is dull and uninspired. robots just look like junky robots. space stations just look like garages with LED strip lights. any base you build looks like any other base you'll see. the difference between 2 planets often just comes down to color filter. some space ships admittedly look quite cool, but most of them are absurdly ugly. I want to like this game, I've tried and continue to try, I've played since I believe the 2nd update ever and it still looks and plays the same as back then, maybe they've added a flood light or changed the space stations, but they don't really feel any better. it's like re-arranging your room and calling it a new home.
The other day I was babysitting a kid over at my house, and i thought, what the hell, I'll throw him in no man's sky vr. He spent 2 hours playing with the terrain manipulator, and i think i broke his brain.
@@verified_tinker1818Didn't you know that [RECENT TECHNOLOGICAL INVENTION] is bad for the youth? I blame the invention of visual media. Children couldn't tell the difference between cave paintings and reality and our species has never recovered. Then we started writing things down, it rotted our brains just like Socrates predicted and we're basically doomed at this point.
I was enthralled by the possibilities at launch even though a lot of people were complaining about the empty promises. I just saw it as a stepping off point for someone to build off of. I'm glad this game has been supported this entire time and became what it is now. We need more games that use procedural generation to create a game world that provides endless entertainment.
Every time No Mans Sky drops a banger update, it gets overshadowed by an even crazier update in the following months, one of my favorite space games, and my personal favorite gaming studio at the moment.
Fewer, actually. Too many games release unfinished, and leave it to the updates to turn the game into what it should've been at launch. Cyberpunk 2077 is a greaat example. Launches like No man's Sky need to be the exception, not the rule
@@anakinlowground5515 They specifically said *UPDATE* their games like No Man's Sky. Obviously the release of NMS was an absolute disaster and situations like it should be completely avoided, but the way the devs keep NMS updated with new content consistently, constantly improving on every feature rather than just dumping on new missions and calling it a day, is something other devs should definitely learn from.
@@anakinlowground5515 And that was the publishers fault because Sony was floundering with nothing to sell their consoles. They've more than earned the right to not have people like you constantly bellyaching about something that happened almost a decade ago.
I didn't get into NMS until like, right after the worlds update, and I was wondering what someone's reaction would be to all the new stuff because I never really got to see the gradual progress of the updates and stuff, so this was really fun to watch! Thanks habie :)
Habie never forgets to upload on the most random times to force me to observe his juicy content (Update I just realized he uploads every Saturday at 12pm eastern)
Habie, you gotta try out Contractors Clone Wars Mod again, you haven’t played it in so long that they’ve added, removed, and added more content to it. You missed out on the Droidekas and the Clone Marines, but now we’ve got starfighters with 1st person cockpits and they’re really fun
I remember when I first hopped into NMS in my VR headset. I was so afraid of leaving the planet lol. When I finally did I wussed out and turned off the game. I have a fear of empty spaces, and Space is, well...a very large empty space. Even with how colorful this particular version of Space is, the sheer *distance* between myself and any other object felt REAL in VR and I just could not handle it. But then I gave it another shot, fought my fears, and kept playing...was an absolutely amazing experience. I can not play NMS without VR. It just isn't the same.
That video being like 5 days after I was born made me feel old, but appreciative of the tech I'm getting to experience thru my life. Crazy how time flies lol
alot of the things your discovering in the video have been in the game at least a year or 2 before the update, but you still have every right to be excited by these fun discoveries, because that is 1 of the many thrills of this game i to enjoy being in space in vr
The most amazing VR experiences I have to date are Assetto Corsa, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and No Man's Sky. I like a lot of VR games but I always come back to those 3.
Kinda blows my mind that I’ve put 60 hours into this game and still haven’t seen some of the stuff in this video, nor am I anywhere near maxing out my freighter, starship or anything else. Kinda puts into perspective just how much has been added. So excited to see what future content brings
I got this game on a sale when I was looking for more PSVR2 games. It blew my mind and it's so hard to explain that VR makes this game great. AND it's relaxing, I play this in VR with my feet kicked up in a recliner just a surfing the galaxy looking for any space dog fight to happen.
NMS is by far my favorite game of all time. I love how Hello Games turned it around. I'm currently taking a break from building an empire (renaming tons of adjacent systems) and building a cabin on a floating island with a waterfall, on a paradise planet that looks straight up like Pandora.
8:09 That hut is so damn cool oh my god ... I need to start playing this again. I'm on and off right now o PSVR2 as well, but I need to actually get a base built. That's one aspect I've ever really explored. That's so awesome
Habie, I just convinced my bro (my Cory) to hop on this game with me and relearn everything. I haven’t played since the 5th update (NEXT I think ?) and bro has already grinded 5x the amount of units I have… and you have now dropped this to validate me proving that this game is great. Thank you.
I haven't played in VR yet but in the anomaly I saw a VR player and I could see them move their arms which I thought was incredible and the guy was petting my raptor and making silly gestures. It was awesome.
habie you should play through outer wilds with the VR mod. the space physics are terrifying and the planets are super cool... and like, the mystery is sick as hell. it's a mystery solving game set in space, in a time loop.
I genuinely can not believe it's been 3 entire years since I started watching this channel. I also can't believe It'saHOBBIT and SpasticNinja are still going.
I felt like crying the first time I played this in VR, it was so pretty. The controls really frustrated me though- I have such trouble navigating the galaxy map, I just pulse around using a controller and switch back to the VR controllers when I'm in a system I want. I LOVE the update!
