What a great idea this is to put this together. New players will be able to get a feel for the evolution of the game and better understand what long time community players are talking about. Returning players will have be able to quickly get an idea of what has changed since they last played, lessening time and frustration in getting back up to speed. Longtime continuing players can enjoy some nostalgia. This will be a useful resource. Thank you for your generosity in putting it together.
I only started playing a month ago so the game is still a bit confusing at times. But it never seems to get dull. I like swapping from exploring/ searching to base building, or cruising around looking for now spots to build.
I was looking for something like this! Started playing something like a week ago, for real this time, cause it's not the first time I've given a chance to NMS. But this time was the good one ! One thing I think is missing from the video, if you ever do one with the new updates included (if you haven't already), is the year of each update. It would really help to get a sense of the changes along the years
I only started playing after NEXT, but seeing this game's evolution since, I can't think of any other game that I have such a deep appreciation of for its growth... and support!
To think I uninstalled No Mans Sky to make room for Starfield. No Mans Sky is easily THE space game of the decade at the moment and I really don’t see that changing in 6 years given what I’ve seen from Starfield.

I first played awile ago .got thegame cheap,but it wasnt much fun so played elite dangerous for a while....thats what brought me back.....elites a great looking game but it lacks many things like plants and animals.Nms gives freedom to explore and every planets different....thats the attraction....lots to find lots to build...im old but when playing im playing like a kid on xmas day.......thank you Nms,hello games. ❤
As someone who started playing this game on 1.3, in an age where we had to wait for almost a year for the NEXT update, I can say from 1.3 onwards this game already felt complete. It's way better now but I miss the 1.3 times, maybe because of how the rendering was different, something changed in their algorithm from that time to now. Thankfully it's possible to download any of the four versions before NEXT on Steam if you know how to do it, so I have a backup of 1.3 just to play every now and then. :D NMS is an incredible game and I can't wait to see what Hello Games will do next with Light no Fire on the way too.
Its crazy that the original trailer still continues to showcase false advertising that is still not in the game years and years later but on the flip side, this game after launch saved me an absolute fortune from never again getting hyped over a game,not buying Day 1, pre ordering getting completely burned and that lesson still holds up today as it did the day i installed this original mess many moons ago, that gut busting realisation and then the refund!!😂😂😂 This game actually broke me, yet here i am playing it and loving it after so long..
Don’t get me wrong, no man’s sky is one of the best games ever made, but it STILL doesn’t look like that first trailer. At least on PS4. That’s so wild.
the fauna had better interaction with the environment and better animation to them in the pre release trailer you can also see how the terrain has been downgrade through out the different update
I have a good idea I think for no man's sky .what if in the game each player had a little flag above there head .with a flag from the country there from .do you think that's a good idea

How long have we had corrupted sentinels? The visions update advertised that. I swear Sean hid details of all the future updates in these ads. the Easter eggs have to be my favorite part of this universe. ❤ 🫡
This hasn't been true since the start of 2022. Every update since has been about exclusively overhauling and deepening existing features instead of adding random stuff without purpose. Really feels like there needs to be another "Internet Historian" video detailing this for the masses to get brought up to speed.
Many who have enjoyed this game and its evolving features and lore for years will disagree with you. How you play, what your goals are, are an individual choice. It’s all okay, there is plenty of room for all opinions and styles.
