Welcome to a new season of Marathon Training in Kenya with Luis Orta! This year we bring you a ton of great new content from the Home of Champions: Iten, Kenya! In this season, we meet up with some of the huge groups that train together in Iten, joining them on long runs, medium long runs, fartleks, track workouts, easy runs, and more! We have some special guests, including Olympic medalist Paul Chelimo who was born and raised in Iten.
In this episode we vet our group of pacers to see where they are at, whether they’ll make the cut to help Luis for his training. We also start the trip off with a group of athletes we gathered from around the world for a Kenyan training experience of their own. We spent a week together exploring, learning, bonding, and of course training with the Kenyans. In the future we’ll be dropping an episode to recap their experience, but for now, we’re going to focus on Luis’s training.
