Before There Was Steelheart there was Red Alert. Live at September 5,1983. James Ward (bass) Chris Risola (guitars) Jack Wilkenson (drums) Miljenko Matijevic (vocals).
Well it was 80s.melodic bands inlfluenced by boston, journey and styx were akin to get notice by labels than to heavy bands.dont tell me iron maiden or judas priest or sabbath but beleive me they are not the bands who were famous at that time.as far as i know the more you are fast, heavy and outrageous the more you are to be noticed by people but ofcourse its not rockbands that people adore in the 80s...it is pop and disco and top40 countles of local bands emerge by that time and majority of them were metal bands.to name a few ,witch, ded engine, warlord, cirith ungol, ttquick, molten steel, savage, a lot lot more and these bands were melodic heavy and fast.red alert was just one of em..
I remember this Band, start yr. 1985- 1988. but their song, thi id the only one popular.. then they just rest, Year 1990 Change the name in Steelheat, Popular song Angel eye, never let you go..Mama don't you cry, year 1991. add the Single Song. She's Gone. became the top choice of American 100 songs.
