The butter glosses are beautiful. If you’d search them you’d see they’re not opaque liquid lipstick but milky glosses. Actually the shades you received are the top shades. Purple is the Pantone shade of 2022.

What we’ve learned… 1) advent calendars are great no matter what month you open them. 2) if you buy advent calendars in January, they are much cheaper and make the value more accessible and realistic to the calendar not the advertised amount. 3) we need more advent calendars!! This is great, thanks Alexandria for keeping this going

Wow. When you put it that way, I'm older than Great Lash, but also older than most makeup brands on the market today. It was Maybelline and Cover Girl all the way for me. L'Oreal was the stuff I hankered after but couldn't afford 😕!

When I was in primary schools my classmates lovely turned my name into an insult and called me Whelena... basically Whale+Elena, just to tell me they thought I was fat. That stuck with me for YEARS! Even now I tend to see myself as fatter than I am and people around me look at me weird when I ask if clothes make me look fat. I checked my damn school pictures, I wasn't even fat!!!! Kids can be nasty little jerks. *facepalm*

I grew up all my life as a redhead being told that I can’t wear red. I was in my 30’s before I bought my first shirt in red. It felt like I was breaking some cardinal rule, but I felt free after! Purple would look amazing with your eye colour!

As a person working on passing my mid-30’s, I can definitely say I’ve learned to love primer. If you get the right one, it does a great job of filling in fine lines and wrinkles, so foundation doesn’t sink into them and crease.

@@TheWholeEntireCake 😂 thank you. I go old school with the Porefessional and a very lightweight foundation (usually a serum foundation) or tinted moisturizer. I recently started using the Tarte BB tinted primer and that really is all I need and it doesn’t crease.

100%. I’ve passed 40, and my makeup now looks far better than it did even a year ago since using a primer. It’s shocking what a difference it makes. Also a setting spray. That stuff has got me wearing makeup daily.

Oh, I definitely win the age bingo game by several years 😉... Anyway, I have to thank elf for introducing me to primer; once I felt the texture, I was hooked! I used to use the purple one for evening skintone. And sub boxes have supplied me with a variety of primers, so I switch constantly...as my contribution to scientific testing, don't you know 🤔? So always use face and eye primers before application. Think of it in artistic terms: the canvas must always be primed before painting.

Try spraying the setting spray onto a big makeup brush then roll it gently over your face. You don't have to spray directly, but still get the benefits. 💙🌻

Putting little drawing of what is in the door is actually a good idea. You can see if it gonna be something you'll use and not get disappointed with having a whole bunch of stuff you end up giving away. If you like to be surprised, probably not the advent calendar for you.

Or it could be a false expectation if the products inside the doors are all ugly colors or different products just in the shape/container on the doors. Like a squeeze tube on the door is vague enough that you might expect a lip gloss but instead it’s a squeeze tube of primer instead. You might be kind of duped if you buy it because you think all the products are things you would want but got crappy products that come in the same containers 😂

Okay, target door #1 small but mighty. But it’s full size and that small little thing is $9.99! New target brand. I think they also had some zit stickers so you heal your zits better and don’t have to use that roll on dark spot remover from blemishes! Lashes are $9.99! Payed for advent! I would totally buy this advent!! My mom uses great lash still. I did for a good while though! Leon! What a great lip name NYX. I think that brown lip gloss would look good on you! And yes I SPY book! That gold glimmer would have been pretty in a New Year’s Eve look.

After binge watching these for the last two days, I’m wondering if the smarter companies don’t put too many cosmetics in is because of skin tones. Skincare is so much more universal but foundation samples (💩) and lipstick are too personal. The Harrods box was pretty good! It’s still expensive but it had great products overall. I just hate paying for sample sizes!!

I bought the Essence one as my first advent calendar ever and it is really good, i loved it 🥰 for someone who can't afford to spend so much on make up this had great items and a great price(here it was around 30$). Unfortunately buying this made me realize how addicting advent calendars are!! 😂 I should have known as i'm already addicted to watching these unboxings. ALEXANDRIA the little purple suctiony makeup brush cleaner is actually BOMB!! I picked one up years ago and you can either suction it to the sink or hold it between your fingers and it does a really good job of cleaning!

I loved the I-Spy books when my kids were little! My aunt would give them each a different one every Christmas! So now my grandsons have them because Grammy kept a bunch of keepsake items for my son’s children, so the two(very soon to be a third) grandsons all have things their daddy(and uncles) played with when they were kids!! I’m a sucker for nostalgia!😉
