The blue from the border of the rug could look really nice on the bench! Or maybe a light taupe, to keep it neutral?

Pull a color from the dining room rug to reupholster the bench in! The mustard yellow, the teal blue or the salmon looking color (that’s what they look on my phone lol)

I would say pull one of the colors from the rug! Then you'll have your pop of color, but not an over load of you're not into have tons of color- pretty much ease yourself into it. Lol. And I saw others in the comments- but you're an amazing mom and human, and you're doing great! Us mamas are out here doing the best we can! 🥰

Maybe you could go to a paint store and pick out a variety of paint sample cards and see what looks good in your room for the bench. Since you want to stay away from cool colors then you'll probably want something like a nice rich gold/yellow, maybe a dark orange or dark red or a warm olive green?

How did your rugs not curl up when you shampooed them?! I have had such a hard time getting mine to lay flat again

I taped all the corners of my rug under my table down with rug tape. The corners started to curl up on that one right after I got it. I haven’t had a problem with my bigger one, I think it’s because it’s a little heavier.❤
