If catchers STILL get injured when balls hit their masks and other protection such as shin and chest protectors, what makes you think that wearing a cup would be the solution to a 105 MPH ball to the nuts? Sure, it may help a bit, but if you are suggesting that wearing a cup will *completely* solve the problem then you are well.....sort of nuts.

I hate the game but used to play cricket at an amateur and semi professional level (if I was an American I'd have definitely pursued a career in baseball but it's just not big here) as a teenager I once took a hit direct to the cup, probably would have been worse without it but I'm fairly well endowed (enough to fill up a cup) and it seemed to spread the pain to the meat and both potatoes and everything hurt for around a week.
