A very good choice. Bottom line is, being comfortable, and being comfortable means a more enjoyable ride. Imagine, if you will, how women must have felt in bygone days wearing a dress while riding. I wonder how that must a felt for them.
Yes, these are not cheap shorts. But I do think you get what you pay for here... I wore them several days in a row without any change in size or shape. You could probably buy one pair of these shorts to 3-4 pairs of another. Quality material.
I’ve always just worn BC clothing cargo shorts, 98% nylon 2% spandex. They work and I use the pockets. I can’t imagine riding a 20 in fat tire Ebike in spandex.
