I'VE PLAYED NMRIH FOR 10+ YEARS AND FINALLY NEW GAME, LET'S GOOOOO

Killing Floor 3. Doom: Dark Ages. State of Decay 3. And now NMRINH2. Yup, zombies are making quite the comeback this year.

I wish the devs would have used the original Broadway and Night of the Living Dead map assets from the 2019/2020 stage of development. Not that this version is bad, but I loved the grounded scavenge-and-survive-for-as-long-as-possible vibe of the older version of NMRIH2, and this seems like almost a whole new game. Basing the whole thing around the power plant is a little concerning to me.

This might sound a little nitpicky but the zombies look kind of dull. I know that zombies aren't the most vibrant creatures but id love to see a little more variety among the horde.

okay but we all wonder if there are zombie children...

I just hope they keep the soundtrack somwhat similar to the first game

So why is every zombie got no hair, no children, and where are the 3 scrapped maps?

I really liked the original for its scale and the very human constraints. I hope the map has a lot of different stories to play through

You have my support, but I am growing concerned about the new direction. All the zombies looking alike, for instance.

So, the darkness itself isn't a problem, what really might be is if every single map is plunged into the night, back in nmrih we had maps, notably the british ones, that happened at around dawn or sundown, where we had a certain amount of light, but we also had a great map like FEMA where it was broad daylight, and while most of the map happened underground, it was daytime. One of the devs told me the children would be back, and I sure hope so, I'd be disappointed if they weren't, they're a core mechanic of nmrih, both annoying and dangerous, they give nrmih a moral dillema grounding it in reality, just like the variety of undead that were present, from young people to old people, the virus spares no one. I also hope like most other people here, that the game won't be focused on only this reactor problem, having maps all around the world and some love letters to George A. Romero like nmrih did is great for immersion. Finally, one thing the OG didn't have was customization, would be great to have what was announced for nmrih2, because the design here seems to look like a sort of squad instead of a bunch of survivors, while I don't mind being a sort of task force from the army in some maps, I would hope we are just everyday people in others like nmrih does for its objective maps. I waited a whole year, being told the game wasn't ready when we neared Halloween 2023, and I was sad but seeing the game as it had been presented back then filled me with hope. Now I read all of the other comments, see this and I'm like "Oh shit, please don't tell me it's gonna be a failure at being nmrih2". I hope to be proven wrong, and most importantly, to be proven that waiting one whole year was worth it, I had no doubts about it before, now I do, and I hope they're simply unfounded.

Seeing how Chivalry 2 has gone the past few years I doubt this will go well, but I'll be happy if I'm proven wrong.

I'm hopeful for this game, but the more ya'll talk about it, the less it feels like NMRiH. It feels like a different zombie series entirely.

I wish for a wave survival mode. Also i think saving humanity should be an impossible task because i liked how bleak and hopeless the first game felt

Ready to support with the funders edition, as a thanks for the multiple hours the first one gave me for free, can't wait for halloween!

I really hope to see some of the old playermodels and voice acting. If not then i hope theres a lot of customization options because i wanna play as John Goodman

Please keep the zombie children AI! They added extra difficulty that I loved from NMRIH1!

Are Broadway III and Night of the Living Dead incorporated into this map or is this a completely new launch map?

nmrih1 is so simple yet so fun to play thanks to co-op and objectives, makes players work together and actually care for each other to increase chance of survival. all it needs is new graphics and darker atmosphere

sad to see torn banner got ahold of this game, was looking forward to it but oh well

I really cannot wait for this game. My very first game on pc was the first No More Room In Hell Game and it was a blast. Fantastic memories running it from a very bad notebook ahha. Great Times... Bring on the second game! LET'S GOO!

This feels... different. That is good but also kind of concerning.

Always love seeing source mod games getting the full game treatment, those early 2000s were the wild west of indie game design but source games always had a certain charm to them, this game especially. So many fond memories of this and Zombie Panic! Source and it was all free. Happy to see them still doing what they love and making fun games.

There's some mechanics I hope won't be present in the second. Killing allies as soon as someone realizes theyre infected, and hoarding. Hope to see the annoying children make a comeback!

Finally some updates, you've been radio silent for a whiiiile now. Hopefully the game turns out good at release! i love the original nmrih.

The fact Torn banner is working on the game has made me so incredibly excited, you guys made Chiv 1 one of my first multiplayer pc games and now are making the sequel to my literal child hood, please don’t blow it. There is a veteran community of NMRIh players like myself with hundreds if not thousands of hours who can advise you, do not listen to streamers who come from a non survival game background to advise you on the game going forwards ask the diehard fans

Fuck. Torn Banner? Bullshit statements like "save humanity" instead of a desperate tale of simply escaping or surviving? We're not getting the real NMRIH experience, lads. RIP to zombie children, RIP to the unscrubbed source material, RIP NMRIH. There are some things mod creators don't have to care about that developers and publishers will inevitably cave to. Ratings system and politicking is going to fuck this game. 😔

Very disappointed that the game will only have one map. I hope objective maps and survival come at some point, DLC or otherwise

very skeptical about the whole "saving humanity" and the overarching goal to always be going to the powerplant instead of varied escapes. you make this game sound like there's hope and that's just kind of antithetical to the atmosphere you created in nmrih1 and are trying to create here. always having to go to the power plant will impact the replayability of this game especially considering it's releasing with just that one map that being said it looks a lot better mechanically and visually than what it looked like we were going to get last halloween

Hearing them openly admit they were "finding their footing" with chivalry like they were throwing darts in the dark and saying NMRiH is the grounded experience they would've wanted for chiv is really concerning to me. You just confessed you aren't able to do that. I really hope the original devs had the backbone to say no to any bad additions, if they even were able to with their new employers.

Cant wait, have loved NMRiH for ages. So well put together and just great fun as a mod. Cant wait to see what a proper build for it will do.

Guys, you have made us all very happy. Awesome job on the next installment of NMRIH! The wait is almost over! EDIT: forgot to tell you guys, thank you so much for 8 player co op. Cant tell you how many times someone gets left out of our game sessions because its only 4 player co op. Now we can all play- smart on you guys- curious on how that will scale so people aren't fighting for kills when playing with 8 ppl.

Zombie models are very bad and animations are my concern, you really need to think on that problem to make atmosphere feel the way it's suppose to feel.

this sounds awesome. the dea of groups of 2 or on your own having a different objective to progress and get to other players in the same map is amazing. i cant wait. also I hope you all make the ammo really easy to distinguish like in the first game. every mag is different. just maybe let us take ammo out of the gun for example so we don't waste a full mag in a 9mm pistol when we find smg and want to switch.

please make an open steam workshop so people will make their maps that you can add to the game. It would be amazing to see old maps and their sequels, broadway 3 or something like that. Also hope they will keep the su*c*de and zombie children.

Oh so instead of waiting 9 months for a chivalry 2 update we will be waiting a year and a half, waiting on the back burner now for this game

In Killing Floor, the developers added an Easter knight character named Tom Banner. I wonder if they will add a landing from Chivalry in the second part? They are not them unless a sword is added. Or a helmet.

It looks good and promising, but I’m kinda skeptical because , most of the time, when a developer team makes this kind of dev vlogs and show they have a big team, lot of investment and a big project the game turns out dog water, or it doesn’t live up to the original, at best. Just like Dead Matter, Dying Light 2 and Back 4 blood .I hope I’m worried for nothing.

dont remove anything you had before (like the children sprinting at you.. as fucked up as it was, it was a real scenario that you wouldnt consider in a zombie apocalypse) keep all the blood, all the gritty looks, the movement/medical/stamina mechanics the callout options... all of it its what makes this so unique in my opinion, you start cutting away those things and im positive itll just become another zombie survival game amongst all the others
