It is not always about money, people might look for experience, traveling, change of scenery. On the other hand, I agree that this is another reason why immigration from these countries will not increase much if at all.
I just listened to the whole vid, thanks :) Just to be 100% sure, as an Amercian working as only a freelancer (not for a company) on the zivno, nothing would potentially change, right? I would still need a residency permit?

Ideally follow the official instructions of the Embassy. Generally speaking it is not needed but you should have it ready anyway. What if the Embassy gives you an appointment in a week? No way you will sort out accommodation within that time frame.
