This is my current PB (3rd Place) I stopped daily 8+ hour grinding due to not having very much fun with the game mainly due to DA manip and the annoying intro. This is what I've accomplished just on and off running :) I'll definitely try to improve this ASAP but I've already started moving onto other things. Hope yall enjoy
@@kevinsteelflex7371 never said that, though I'd *personally* rather not listen to someone slam their keyboard, rage at their mom and randoms in the chat he could just ignore. he has the attitude of an angsty high schooler and is one of the most depressing speedrunners to watch; as good as he is.
What your comment has anything to do with the purpose of the video? It's so pathetic, u guys (haters army) are everywhere trying to make ppl hate this game but u fail, ppl are playing and enjoying it.(speaking about the nemesis, this game is inspired by the original, nemesis appears few times in the whole game, and each time he appears u can run away from him for half a minute by going to 2 or more different rooms then he'll stop chasing u until the next jumpscare, same is happening here, nemi shows up and u can run away for short time then he'll dissappear till the next jumpscare), don't get me wrong Re3 original is my favorite game of all time and I literally played it hundreds of times and I gotta say that nemesis here follows the original game or maybe better.
@@achiarchili5784Either you’re lying about playing the original or you just don’t understand why this remake isn’t that good. Nemesis had an amazing sense of dread to him, the subtle music that would play indicating he was close and was about to appear was phenomenal. The original game was complex and more open than this, there were far harder puzzles and it wasn’t extremely linear like this. The original game was multiple choice, this game is the same thing no matter how many times you play it. There aren’t any dynamic aspects to this remake. It’s a fun game to play while turning your brain off but it isn’t even a third of the complexity and atmosphere of the original.
@Dominic dominic don't know, don't care. I actually don't like TLOU, not my kind of game :)

22:58 Sadly you're right... I love this remake but all the thing you say about this new remake are true.. It's too mainstream now even if it's good and we get the horror vibes back
i don't get what that fuck people wanted this to be... a "remake" like RE1 was? put the fucking clocktower puzzle to fanservice people? or just a new experience with the same story like RE2 was?... because when things are done exactly as they are, what fucking experience can you have when you´re doing the same shit over and over again but with better graphics?? only a fool would spect a game will be make for "fans" and not make for profit. and with all the "failures" this game could have, i would said it pleased both ends without put one over another..
22:46 ~ 28:00 Exactly. And it wasn't just that there are many peppy doe-eyed newcomers who praises the remakes (this is completely fine, everyone can have rational/irrational opinions), but the fact that they so passionately turn an unfounded opinion into advocacy, most without knowing the history of RE to compare to. This is at the EXPENSE of all of us RE veterans' constructive opinions on Capcom's deliberatly missed opportunities.. The franchise will stop growing and start dying if we stay complacent to accept this stepped-back subpar content... If people have not played and understood the original lore, then go ahead speak your minds but also give the experienced veterans/ (more) professional gamers like Bawk some respect and listen and think about what they say about their experiences first. Remake REs are 'good' games. We all still play it but why not make it legitimately better by just simply incorporating something it used to have, which gave it much much MUCH more depth. RIP RE.
Dominic dominic I’m going to reply and say that the fact that i claim the franchise is going downhill now has nothing to contradict with the fact that capcom has been making games for 20 years, nor the fact that will be making other great games, nor the possibility that they can potentially right their wrongs that they did now and reboot RE universe from ground 0 successfully. secondly why do you think we think the world revolves around us? if it is because you dont agree the classics are good then play them and understand them like we do and back your statement up so it can be discussed. thirdly the original(s) is not “perfect” perfect but it is actually pretty close to perfect at its time and ahead of its time. there was so much love and genre defining moments in the game. and even without the gimmick factors the integrity of the gameplay given its controls and graphic limitations runs surprisingly well. that level of commitment and integrity far exceeds the re3 remake. fourthly, RE classics have had a very very deep lore that binds together not perfectly but really quite strong. that was how it gained a cult. are you sure you know the lore? have you read any side products like the comics or high quality written books that attempts to explain every seemingly loose plot? In this case the acting is not that relevant as it takes away nothing about the game it was trying to be. The game design and the consistent of events are much more relevant in my argument. thank you for commenting!
Dominic dominic No, that was quite different from what I said. Do not put words into my mouth. I assume you mean you think acting was all that it does for a lore to get coveyed. I wouldnt agree to say the acting dominated the lore in RE because the majority of the lore of the game seeps out from its script, from enemy design, storyboard events, and collectible documents that spanned over 3 games? having said that, i’ll say again, the original is not perfect, the acting on particular as you point out (i am assuming when you say acting you mean the limiting character model’s animation with also the voiceovers) is far from perfect, so weren’t many early animated movies and games! And certainly not reality-yanking type of bad acting (and let’s put aside how sometimes iconic brands at an unsaturated market of entertainment CAN quite often be a product of unconventional subpar acting, eg lara croft, terminator, etc). If we were to follow your track of thought that presentation dominates lore or story or script or ways the game convey the above, then again for what RE was trying to be, (a clever horror game, RE1 sized 270MB, RE2 sized 760MB, with a deep eerie script, cutscenes, pseudo3D environment to fit in a PS1 capable of running 700MB discs at 33MHz cpu and 2MB ram), these games along with tom clancy’s francise or metal gear franchise etc were really ahead of their time and helped built foundation for big games in formats of gameplay for action story-telling. So yeh they are still pretty great. Back to the original claim about the lore: Now I realise one possible outcome of bad acting is that you may not have spent the time to understand the lore because the acting was off-putting enough for you to cease interest. If that was the case for you then that is fair and I am sorry about that. So maybe that is why you think that bad acting was the only important highlight in 1996 video game industry because maybe you actually didnt get the opportunity to know the lore at all, which would be a fair criticism. Let me know if that is what you mean. In any case, I invite you to answer this - so why is the new lore better, give examples or comparisons? Maybe we will find truth if we have more substantial non-sarcastic claims. Thanks for replying!
Dominic dominic Hmm I am asking you to explain your sarcastic claims. and you refuse to or unable to. So maybe... you could be the one who’s blinded..? I can tell you a bit about what I agreed on negative things that are comparable to other new modern games as well as the originals in the new remakes. RE2 had a broken story, Annette died in every scenario; RE2 had not explained how many Mr X there was, no evidence lead players to assume there was more than one, yet after its chest was ripped open in Claire’s scenario, another one appeared to Leon later on in the game; the game was fun but repetitive, all scenarios were 95% in terms of game time identical post-RPD segment; RE2 claire and leon were not talking much yet they were flirting (in your words this world be bad acting) at the back gate, then suddenly grew super close by the end; RE3 had many areas where you didn’t need to go to at all, and they don’t really add to the story, just ammo; RE3 had formula nemesis fights, if anything nemesis was supposed to be the main attraction but remained weak relevance in terms of story progression throughout, do you even get to learn why it chased after you?; RE3 drainers only showed up for 2 minutes in the game, with no explanation why these creatures were significant or added to the game apart for inconsistency. The games are good fun action games, like many respectable RE followers have said many times but in terms of depth, it wasn’t on the same level, still fun though yeh. Though more actual supporting claims from you except for just blurting subjective vague “good” or “bad” from you would be more useful to the discussion. Otherwise I think it is better that I stop replying because while I dont get tilted by trolling comments, but it is a waste of time to try to have a civilised discussion with a one-liner generator. Anyway thanks for replying again.
Stephen Calvillo same, made it all the way to final nemmy no shop items, got tired of dying so I grabbed the defense coins and stars manual and beat him in a couple tries, no rocket launcher
Not at nightmare cos his move set is more slow than in inferno. But on inferno is completely random and broken. I think i died 80 times before beat him but i hope Capcom will release a patch for last nemmy
not to mention in original RE3 you could actually kick a zombie to push it away or crush its head or push it. now carlos gives a stupid super punch that has a hitbox the size of an elephant.
@@charliehoss1614 the whole point of the fight is putting your dodge skills to the test, it’s more skill and fast reaction based, then cheap unfairness
Love seeing strats used in this run that you were thinking about in the very early runs such as not being tight with the grenade rounds for zombies during acid nemmy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Panthers I thought RE3R was excellent, I can’t lie. A somewhat faithful remake with a gorgeous and terrifying campaign that also does a great job at reimagining the characters, tone and atmosphere of the original. Lots of environmental details, cool weapons and enemies, intense bossfights and some quiet atmospheric moments, more refined combat system that RE2R, a strong story (as far as RE stories go); generous amount of unlockables, challenges and easter eggs and great replay value overall. That’s not to say the game isn’t without flaws, but I would honestly say it’s one of the greatest in the series and a new all-time favorite for me; it’s definitely tied with RE2, albeit not as well-crafted or content-filled as that game.
@@kaijumediajames653 couldn't agree more with you. I think it's sad how many people are hating on it just cause others were let down. I can definitely see how there's stuff to be let down about, but regardless, I enjoy the game for what it is
TIL: Criticism and nuance opinions mean you absolutely, positively hate something. Especially when you've put more hours into that something than anyone else has. Love your runs, and love your honest opinions, Bawk! Keep running, because Nemmy's right behind you!
Lol at how fast bawk cleared the police station, he was 100% on point about everything he said with re3 remake, the original was best game in series it deserved better
To my knowledge, RE4R is being made by a new team: M-Two. They are larger than than the teams who worked on RE2R and RE3R. They were, however, a part of this game's development but only as help and to learn about the RE Engine. Also, RE4R has been in development since 2018 which means it would be in development for 4 years for its planned release. [So RE4R could be very close to RE2R and RE3R or maybe more different than we think. It's all in the air at the moment.] All we can hope for is that Capcom listen to the criticisms around RE3R.
I love bawkbasoup streams he’s really calm and cool while also being strict when need be. His sarcastic humor is nice as it annoys trolls. I remember watching a dudes stream with RE 8 on village he was trying to defeat Miranda and I was curiously asking if he has tried using the magnum or is he saving it for a fail safe? I got banned for back seating apparently. I don’t backseat but I do ask genuine questions which bawk answers genuinely on stream which is great! I don’t understand why I got banned but I do agree with bawk on spoilers and extreme back seat when it’s not wanted
I could see a park sequence with Jill after the midpoint before the clock tower fight, and then a Carlos section going through the clock tower to get to her. I like the game a lot, but yeah, there are many opportunities. Nonetheless, great runs!
24:50 are you kidding me?! RE2 and RE3 originals were exactly the same games in terms of graphics, gameplay and sound with only story, location, bosses and a few enemy differences but otherwise played EXACTLY the same. The remakes and originals are identical in execution in that 3 both times was a EXACT rehash of its predecessor with a few gimmicks to try and make it stand out. Only RE3 original had much more depth with its RNG story events, mercenary mode and its more fleshed out city environment to explore and get lost in. RE3 remake is crazy linear and fails to give Nemesis his stalker mechanics and turns him into 100% script cheese. Ironically Tyrant 103 got stalker mode and Nemesis the scripted attack segments flipping there roles completely.
Your a resident evil god ! You deserve the title! We now release you from your endless hellish torture in the intro hahaha I wanna see you play more horror survival. Have you tried playing resident evil resistance? I hated the idea but I gave it a try and I’m hooked. Maybe you’ll like it ? Always love man ! Keep doing yo thing.
What was the reason for getting hit on purpose at 39:12? And wasting all Carlos' ammo at the start of his section? I heard something about "dropping a rank" but what does that mean and how does it change things?
He's altering his DA ("Difficulty Adjustment"), which is affected by playing well/not taking damage OR missing shots/getting hit. The higher the DA rank, the harder the game gets. It can affect enemy speed/aggressiveness/reaction times/overall damage/etc. Lowering DA is suuuuuper important in some parts to make sure you can actually get through at all.
Hey Bawk, in your opinion, what would you like to see patched or changed to make this more comparable to the RE2 remake? I imagine reducing the linearity of the areas would go a long way for you?
My first play through of this game i loved it albeit short, the more i played the more i realised how little soul this game has compared to re2 remake. I applaud you for sticking with this and speed running it bawk :D, would love to hear your full review on this game breaking down why it doesn't work because i can't seem to put my finger on the one thing that makes it a 6/10 for me and not a 9/10 like re2
I 100% agree with you on this game Bawk. To be honest I was way less hyped for it compared to RE2 remake, which I like way more. Honestly there's one thing these two remakes did really well was the characters, at least that's my opinion.
I'm so sorry I didn't even notice an actual spoiler in the comments :( I talked about it during the run because there was lots of chatter about the game. At least we don't know if they're true until we play.. I hope
I speedrun the original 1-3 games, and the remakes of 1 and 2. Haven't had much desire to do so with this one, or play it a bunch at all. Such a disappointment. Idk what Bawk's issues with the RE2 remake are though. With the large exception of the 1st and 2nd scenarios being virtually identical, I found the game to be close to flawless.
Everything post-RPD was very... i don't even have the words to describe. Disappointing? I think RE2R RPD section was flawless. Sewers were ok. But that horrible Nest thing was just plain bad. For me, personally, I loved the RE2 final areas, all that industrial dead lab feeling. And they just said "fuck that" and scrapped it entirely.
I realize there is allot of criticisms of this game by the community, but I'd like to offer one more for inferno mode specifically. I realize part of the difficulty lies with the autosave feature turned off. Well Capcom should of at least had one auto save, after the four minute intro sequence. It's super annoying having to do the beginning sequence over again when a casual player like myself dies. I'm cool with no other autosaves.
Considering nemesis, and I'd need to find the source on this, but I remember the devs were saying that nemesis would have more ways to track you than Mr. X did. But to me, it just felt like nemesis was on a timer, and he wasn't *tracking* you like Mr. X was. Once the timer was up, Nemesis would just show up and chase you, not like Mr. X where you can hear him searching for you if you listen.
Movie studios have been spoiling movies in trailers for years now. Like they think we need to know every plot point or we'll go in completely lost. Thats the point tho. Figuring the movie out as it goes along.
i hope that they allow cosmetic mods into the speedrun leaderboards, I mean the game is great and all but I don't think I would be able to live without jill being a sandwich, carlos being albert wesker and nemi being Ultron. or conversely, jill and nemi being cj and bigsmoke.
I think it's so sad that Bawk had high hopes for this game and going back to watch this run he just looks fed up and disappointed the whole way through. :(
I think it's funny to see the contrast here and his first playthrough where he praises it. Looking back all this months later yeah it's pretty sad at what this game could've been.
this game was super disappointing, I have like 130 hours in RE2make and still do casual speed runs of it when I'm bored but RE3 I beat once, and I've started a new game a few times, but I don't even make it all the way through even though it only takes an hour to beat. RE2make was cool for the reasons you mentioned in this video and because it takes place mostly in the police station, the changes they made were alright. But this game strayed away from the original WAY too much, it is like you say more of a DLC. They only shipped it as a separate game so they could pawn Resistance on us, and I didn't even install that shit.
Hurts me in the soul to see this last 1 hour only. Man this game was short. RE3 is my absolute fav, but this was just downright dissapointing. I even regret getting the game
Da or difficulty adjustment is a system set up where if you hit more shots and take less hits its gets harder and if you miss a lot of shots and take a lot of damage it's gets easier
Difficulty adaptation, I assume. I'm pretty sure the game changes certain details in small ways to help you if you've taken a certain amount of damage, and vice versa.
Difficulty adjustment basically the better you do the harder the game, ie missing less shots and taking less damage, and if you take more damage and miss more shots it gets easier
