Hats off to Hillbilly for sharing his dental situation. It's hard to be happy when you are in pain and you don't want to let people see what it really looks like when you smile. I know, because that's where I am and I'm trying to decide what my options are too. Not sure I want to share it all with the world though. Again, you go Hillbilly!
Yeah! I was lucky, both my Mom and both brothers had bad teeth. I was lucky and got Dad's hard teeth. I sympathize with Hillbilly, knowing what they had to go through.
@m riggs same here. Got lucky. 0 cavities at 37 and my dental hygiene was sub par for years. Not everyone would get away with my bs. Wish hillbilly the best
Robby...Why did hillbilly get denied...because of 1 tooth that goes up inside his sinuses?...but rest of his teeth can be replaced with implants no!!!...an do he NOT have coverage from his JOB????😂😂😂😂...I'm just mess'n with ya Robby, what I did was had them all pulled out, waited 3 weeks till swelling went down, then went back to denturest to get a mold made for my dentures, the had to wait 2-3 months, then went back, sit in chair, then he brought out my teeth, they fitted awsome, he had to do a small amount of grinding on 1 side to get them fit 100%...😊😊😊...GOOD LUCK HILLBILLY...
Passed out and fell on my face and broke all 4 front top. I have not so great teeth to begin with, drink soda, and smoked since 13 plus I've had root canals and fillings. This WHITE Teeth thing is absurd in the US because I see bleached teeth and they aren't healthy teeth. Your teeth should work and be clean, teeth are not white like your bones are not white due to blood flow 👽
I’m right there with you missing five teeth and all my others are weak and just not great. Sadly the denture I have is extremely uncomfortable and just make me want puke when I use it.

Dental health for humans is kind of like hoof health for a horse. You would be surprised by how much of an impact it has on one’s overall body health. I’m so excited for Hillbilly! Saving the teeth he has is best in the long run. ❤ Delay those dentures as long as possible, because they bring their own set of long-term challenges. That being said- veneers can be a pain in the posterior to maintain, I’d be tempted to avoid the veneers but do everything else.
It's funny how they preach good dental health . But most insurance will not cover the more serious stuff. I'm missing a front tooth and insurance said it's cosmetic so they will not pay a dime towards it. It will cost me $1500 and up to get one dang tooth fixed. SMH😢😢😢

I am a retired dentist that restored dental implants for 25 years. I retired as a tenured Associate Professor in prosthodontics at a major dental school in the US. I taught many dentists that are now practicing in Utah. I never would recommend the “teeth in a day” . Placing implants in bone that had diseased teeth is very risky. I would never recommend it. I like the procedures that you are doing now. Genetics play a minor role. Drinking sugary soda is a killer for teeth. Flossing daily is a must. I love implants but they must be placed in healthy bone. If the teeth are not able to be saved, extract them, allow bone to heal for 6 months, place implants. Allow 6 months to allow bone to attach to implants, then place the teeth on the implants.
So awesome for you to do this for Hillbilly!! As someone with half a mouth full of fucked up teeth I know exactly how he feels. Being in pain 24/7 really wears you down.
I know what you mean, the antiepileptic medication I was on as a kid inhibited enamel growth on mine and now I'm in my 50s they ain't coping well at all.
@Marvin De Bot Dilantin? Yeah, that was my issue, plus grinding my teeth while I sleep. I have a free clinic (medical & dental) here where they can pull my teeth if I need it done.
It’s terrible, absolutely zero ability to focus on things. I tried to get implants, they said I grind too much to get implants. Sooo many people have veneers, implants and dentures now it’s crazy how far dentistry has come.
I feel for all of you, fought dentists for the lastr 20 years for tupper ware (dentures) so they left 4 bottom teeth and 8 top teeth and botch up the dentures, they look nice in a plastic cup on the bedside table, I have tooth ache for the over 65 years
To be able to smile and eat without self-consciously thinking about it can be an absolute life changer man! Im excited for HillBilly! I had some teeth work done a few months ago. I wish I would have done it years ago

My daughter had two impacted teeth in her nasal cavity. Adult teeth that never dropped down. Had to slowly get them to drop down before we could give her braces. I think it’s awesome that hillbilly is putting himself out there on video for others to see. Putting his pride away for this. Outstanding. Of course it’s very generous of you guys to help him. Oh, by the way we found out that we HAD to do this surgery for my daughter because later in her life it could make her very sick and have major sinus problems.
Hillbilly deserves all the good things that are coming to him. He's such a hard worker all around the shop and a genuine person overall. Thanks to Robby and his family for the way they go the extra mile for their employees. Best of luck to all throughout this process.

Hillbilly, I feel ya man. I've been dealing with the same situation for the past several years. I'm still working to find a dentist to work with my dental plan. I'm just 50 years old and my teeth look as if I'm over 100. I have multiple things working against me one being my genes. The other I have a condition that causes my mouth to stay extremely dry. I always have water or green tea drinking. Brother, I'm praying they get you all fixed up soon. Tooth pain has to be second only to a kidney stone. I can't wait until you're pain free and all smiles
Hillbilly, Good News Brother! - the day the pain ends is coming soon. I lived with major tooth pain for years and got pretty used to it. The day my dentist ended the pain? OOOOWEEEE I never knew it was that bad! All the best brother! Good times ahead
The dentist just wants to make more money. He knows those good teeth will go bad and he'll have to come in and get dentures anyway. He should get all of them pulled out and go straight to dentures. I've already gone through this and I made the mistake to keep the good ones. Now they are almost ready to fall out and my partials will have to turn into dentures.

I can relate Hillbilly. I had neglected my teeth for far too long. When I did finally go, the dentist said on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the worst, I was a 4. Lucky for me the dentist office had a great periodontist that saved my teeth. Best wishes for you.
At the 2:19 mark Robby did THE BEST IMITATION IN HUMAN HISTORY of the sound of two rear tires spinning on pavement while the front brake is being held to barely let a hot car move forward...TWICE...FACT! (That was almost unsettling, I replayed it with my eyes closed and it sounded like one of my friends with a hot car back in high school showing off in the parking lot.)
Robbie I don’t think there is a bunch of people who know who Earl Scribe is. Us older folks do though. I had a friend who got one of those paint jobs and we couldn’t believe how they just painted over everything including the bugs on the hood. How funny that you would mention him. Certainly brought back memories for me.
Car looks awesome Robbie. Hillbilly......so happy for you as well. Be right here with you as you go through the process. I know how lengthy it can be. I went through it with my oldest daughter last year and seeing how it brought out her smile, I know how happy it is going to make you.

Great work on your derby car. My BIL was big into derby cars back in the day. Question... Am I missing something, or are you deliberately putting a "pusher" fan instead of the correct "pull" fan???

I feel you hillbilly. Four years ago, I had all my teeth, but the medication I take to prevent another stroke is making my teeth fall out. I've lost 8 or 9 teeth and have 4 more ready to leave. The dentist wants to pull them all, which is cool by me, but getting all my doctors on the same page is difficult. They can't do implants because of a similar issue to hillbilly but they're exploring options.
Props to Hillbilly for doing the hard stuff. Showing up for work every day, doing what needs to be done, facing the dentist, giving up smoking. Awesome.
God oh god , if Hillbilly can save his teeth, tell him to save them . I’ve had dentures since leaving 20 years in the Army ( dental care sucked ). Now I glue my face in every day. I can’t enjoy meal’s anymore, and you become so limited on what you can eat . Tell Hillbilly to keep his teeth !!! He will regret dentures ..
You shouldn’t have to glue those dentures in. Have you tried having them re-lined? Ideally, denture wearers will get them re-lined (refitted) once a year. I feel like so many places that do dentures don’t do a good job of explaining long-term maintenance to keep and make them comfortable. It’s kind of like doing a realignment to make sure your vehicle steers well, except with teeth. Sure, you can get along, but poorly aligned teeth wear the rest of your mechanics down faster and eventually ruin the vehicle overall.
I chose the dentures over the implants for the sole reason that if something happened to one of those plates, I wouldn't be able to eat anything at all because the implants have metal barbs sticking out of your jaw, so you can't close your gums all the way. Just get those sucker's yanked out bud, heal up and get dentures. New technology makes dentures nearly identical to your old teeth. I've had mine for nearly a decade and I've never been happier. Good luck Hillbilly :) don't try to save any teeth man, trust me. I tried that. My family has bad enamel and those few remaining teeth will just rot away and ruin everything. Just do it all at once buddy, trust me. Get the surgery, remove all teeth, then you have to heal for 6 weeks, then get fitted for teeth that will never hurt again. Do them all Hillbilly, trust me.
If you choose the path to save a few teeth, you'll be going through this whole thing again in a year or two. Trust me man, just do them all at once. My situation was that I had 9 teeth on bottom, in front, that were all cavity free, but in the process of doing the uppers and healing, the bottom 9 started to go bad. Our family suffered from weak enamel. They will try to anchor off those good teeth, and that will make those good ones go bad fast... Then I had to go through it all again... And wait more months. Just do them all and be done with it bud... You'll thank me in the end. If you'd like pictures, I can share my experience with you
I had to do that with my teeth because of my accident... I feel much better and I can have a super white smill any time.. deep cleaning hurts like hell..
Hillbilly, I know exactly what you're going through. Bad genes have caused me life long dental issues. You can still get implants. You need a sinus lift. I've had two. It's a 6 month process for each side. It doesn't really hurt, but it means nothing but soft foods for a year. But it was 100% worth it.
I was like Hill Billy with very bad teath mainly because of genetics. I went through all the stages you are talking about, root canals, caps, gingivectomy and ended up wth having every thing pulled and finally dentures. If I had it to do over again I should have had the denture work right from the start.

Hillbilly, I was born with rotten teeth and suffered with toothaches for years. Then had all my top teeth pulled and put dentures in. I never regretted it once! If you get a good fit, once you get used to them, you can't even tell they are dentures. No more toothaches! Had my bottoms done about 20 years later, but still don't regret any of it. And having bad teeth can really affect your health. Robby, the derby car looks great!
