I'm sure madge's actress is really nice but even she must feel sometimes that Madge is rather a despicable charactrer at times. The episode when Kate puts her in her place was worth the wait for someone to tell her how she really is!

Sensical answer: He wants to watch the fight so is pretending to not be at the bar. Actual answer: The scene is setup like a spaghetti western so he's hiding as no to get involved (shot).
