Sisal truly has it all: beach, reefs, even sunken cannons! Also, mangroves, swamps, natural areas with birds, herons, and flamingos wherever you look; a beautiful fresh water spring to swim in, and many adventures ahead. And has been recently named a Pueblo Mágico de México

Don´t forget visit Celestum and Uxmal. Uxmal is Mayan ruins, maybe with the most extraordinary architectural style for this culture. Nice video.

I just came back from Sisal. There was a cold front but we still loved the place. Coming back in may with a car to explore all the beauty this town has to offer. The sunset from the west point was amazing , only short from the amazing views from the mangrove side. Loved it, loved it, loved it!! Definetely one of those places where you feel you left a piece of heart behind when you leave.

My favorite area on the Gulf is the trip between Celestun and Sisal by way of beach, ria and jungle. A few beers at the top of the lighthouse for the views....

En mi opinion la playa de Sisal es la mas hermosa y tranquila de la costa yucateca. Yo adquiri un terreno en el fraccionamiento Parque caucel que esta cerca de Sisal sobre la carretera del poblado de Hunucma. Muy buen video. Felicidades.

Wow! This was a great video this week as I’ve been interested in the Merida, Progresso area for some time. Sisal looks like a great little community to check out. I’m so glad you had wonderful friends to stay and visit with. It really shows that no matter where we come from, we can all get along. We were in Sisal just after Xmas last for a day trip. We thought it was great town. We stayed mostly by Progresso. There is a beach at the far end of Chaburna that a guy was boondock ing at. The police knew he was there and checked up on him at night to make sure he was okay. That area is renowned for kite surfing! Enjoy!

The chest bump was classic! Alli and I tried that once and nearly hurt each other LOL! Bird island was really cool. We still want to get some paddle boards to try. Never attempted one yet, and i (Chuck) have terrible balance so might be difficult LOL

I love that place. I love it the way it is. I hope it doesn’t get too many tourists and then it develops into something unrecognizable. That’s what some people don’t understand. Not everything needs to be Puerto Vallarta or Tulum or Cancún etc.

I'm sure you could make it, but it would be stressful. Anywhere semi's go you can go, but driving and the roads here are very different. Stick to main highways and toll roads and only go to campgrounds where you know big rigs will fit. There won't be 50 amp anywhere really. - Liz

We are considering buying land near sisal. Would you consider having an airbnb there a good idea? I love that town but I am not sure how much turism is heading there now that it was named a pueblo magico.

I lived there for three months and loved Sisal, unfortunately the economic model is affecting and destroying the natural resources of the town by building beach houses and new highway that destroys the dune plants and the mangrove, if the community doesn't realize about the environmental problem is affecting them it may be too late. Birds, bees and turtles communities are being already affected due deforestation.

Of course it is, you just need to investigate what parts of big cities not to go, but overall mexico is safe to drive through.

fake flamingo ha. I remember going to a place in Cuba and seeing what I thought were 4 or 5 fake flamingos and saying "oh my god this place is so lame they've even got fake flamingos, they turned out to be real.
