I am assuming that the cells have a life span, usually 2 to 5 years? If the censor does not need changing, surely you still need to send the unit off annually to be calibrated as required when using the unit for gas safety critical measurements? What happens if the gas engineer installs a cell incorrectly, or puts the wrong cell in and there is an incident, or even if he does put the cell in correctly and there is an issue with the unit which is involved in an incident, 'where is the liability'? I am pretty sure the engineer would be held liable for this incident as he is not deemed competent to install cells into a FGA? Does their FGA have the provision for using as a manometer, and can you get accessories such as a gas sniffer for their FGA?

Posted this in a group forum, as the cost of calibration often creeps up, one of the uses posted a picture of the manual, saying "the calibration must be performed by a qualified technician". I looked at the MIs, and it says "To ensure the measurement accuracy, sensors have to be calibrated only in Assistance center qualified by Sauermann." So does it need to calibrated or not. I agree this will be a game changer, if we can change the sensors ourselves.

Yes it needs calibration every year but if you install the new sensors yourself they come calibrated with a certificate so you won’t have to send it to be calibrated until a year later I explain this in the video

@@tomkatgastraining ok thanks for clearing that up I didn't want engineers going out, buying these analysers, then be tripped up on the small print.

I know that Testo have very easy to self change O2 & CO sensors. All analysers should follow suit!

I didn’t know Testo allows you to change the sensors
