ATX board repair channels that are English are very rare on YT. Thank you so much for your channel and keep up the great work.

We don't take in ATX boards because it's completely not financially feasible to repair them, can't sustain a business doing it. We will do things that don't take much time like BIOS, but for anything else, typical repair business will absolutely reject them because there is no money in it, they are too cheap to begin with. We still do laptop boards of course since it's still worth it.

Exactly right. This was my idea behind the chanel as well, to have some info on Mainboard Repair in english. And yes the time spent is not worth counted in money. If i wanted to earn money, i would fix notebooks.@@FrozenHaxor

@@MainboardMedic I hate laptops from the bottom of my heart. Motherboards, on the other hand, I have 20-30 sitting there and waiting 2nd or 3rd of January to get fixed. I hope nobody is coming in for repairs and I have time to enjoy repairing all of my broken motherboards. Some motherboards repairing may not make money but a repaired motherboard is very useful when someone needs one for testing a graphics card or a power supply. Nice video. Keep up the good work. Happy new year!

So I did not think of board not working because damage by owner. So obvious when you point it out. The scratches are perhaps easier to spot but minor missing components will be on my future focus as well. Thanks for a great video. P.S. I use the green abrasive bits for cleaning battery corrosion damage off motherboards. They are really good.

The green abrasive rubber tips for the dremel are really good for removing solder mask. The retro community uses them a lot.

Scalpel / razor blade works good for scraping traces like that , or nail polishing stones

PCI-e latch strikes again. Nice to see MB manufactures moving to release button.

That latch sucks ass. I was so nervous when I was swapping my GPU, especially considering GPUs have the weight of bricks nowadays.

I also had the same issue, friend gave me B450 with no post but after visual inspection i see 3 resistor missing and 1 crooked near the pwm controller, i believe it's knocked during heatsink removal. So yeah free motherboard.

*Scrapes screwdriver across motherboard. Tells Mainboard Medic: "I dunno. I just swapped my CPU and it isn't posting for some reason."
@Dandan-tg6tj

Yesss. That's the drill. I didn't do anything wrong. Knocked some components out, scraped screwdriver over motherboard, tried to update the BIOS but took the mains cord out during the BIOS update because it seemed to be frozen and dropped the CPU and now it is missing a little piece of a corner, no big deal.

i dont get how this happens tho like was he using a screwdriver to release the pcie latch ?? i mean i use my fingers to do it and there no way i could do this ???
@MainboardMedic
@MainboardMedic 7 месяцев назад
Exactly that. Often people have big CPU Coolers and cant reach their fingers to the latch. And then they use something pointy like a screwdriver to release it.
