Very cool video, I'd love to see more. I have now also bought a DDR debug stick and a new linear power supply with 40V 20A. I have been repairing electronics for several years and also for customers. My equipment therefore amounts to approx. 3500€ with some very good tools such as a Fluke 175 as well as an Eakins microscope and an Atten Hot-Air Station and an Achi BGA Station. I mainly like to take on GPUs/laptops/MacBooks and smartphones/tablets, but I'm still getting used to motherboards. I'm now also reading a book to teach myself on the side. Best regards and have a nice weekend 😄 Tobi

That is some great Equipment, exspecially finding a beefy linear power supply like that! That must have cost a fortune! What is the book called and is it about Mainboards or generell electronics! Cheers

Hello, a very nice and educational video, could you tell me what you plugged into the ATX connector?
@MainboardMedic
@MainboardMedic 7 месяцев назад
There will be a video about that! Its an 12V to 24 pin adapter! So you give it 12V and meassure the current of the 12V. The adapter has the other voltages like 5V.

This seems to be happening with quite a few Asrock steel legends. I see a lot of posts on reddit and boards on ebay with bad top pcie slots.
@MainboardMedic

Very interesting, i think something about mounting the CPU cooler might be the problem! I think components often get knocked off, while people are working on that!

Anytime you Have a Lesser Compute power GPU than specs of a Main board = you Must first start out in a lower x slot , as if 16 being the tope slot next lower is usually a 8x and or a 4x / 4x receivable signal reception And Many newer boards = there is no direct 4x on a 8x slot any longer , grab a single 4x auxialry slot but evven those are at 8x and Up now for 4k capture cards and Certain audio inserts

Nice video and a great channel, the 55 timer video was amazing. It seems you are from Russia, right?! Given the popularity of X79 and x99 Chinese motherboards there, could you do a video modding one of those to beef up power delivery to the CPU? Ive got a x79 huananzhi and I'm looking to mod it for an oc past 4.2GHz, but all the material is in Russian. Translators suck. Edit: I assumed you're russian because you pointed in the 555 timer video to a video in Russian, but seeing your windows in German don't make so sure.

I can see where the confusion comes from! I am in fact german, but my parents are from russia and taught me russian. Can you link me the material, i might give it a look. Nothing ive ever done before!

I understand you have a problem but honestly, you ask for advice to solve your very complex problem from someone who does this for a living. It is his job. He does this for money to pay his bills and his food. You need help? Pay the man and he will help. Anyway, if you know nothing about motherboard repairs, you definitely have no business trying to repair one. It may look easy but it is definitely not easy.
