No.'s Top 15 Worst Latin American Logos/IDs 

I’m from Colombia, and putting Jorge Barón Televisión in the worst ids could be almost a blasphemy here, it’s almost a classic symbol from the country culture, a legendary icon from our television, it’s a big thing here. The only bad thing it has it’s that it was old for 2017

No. 9 (Rahintel) is actually a sort of Frankenstein ID. The animation is from 1992, the background music clips were taken from their mid-80s IDs, and the final jingle comes from the 1988 ID (in fact the '92 one originally recycled the full '88 jingle). And about the broken TV... in the early 90s they had an anniversary ID in this same CG style where a TV screen breaks and the shards form a birthday cake... the animator might've been a huge fan of those effects.

weird stuff: if you guys don't like strong language, you may not like this video! 7:17 Going to expand what the heck is "La Carabina de Ambrosio". It's a mexican comedy TV show from Televisa that was aired from 1978 to 1987 and competed with Chespirito, being the second comedy show aired in Mexico and Latinoamerica. Producciones Punch in Colombia had the rights to air the show in Colombia from 1979 to 1983 in Colombiana de Televisión. The show is very well known because of its intro sequence with a lady dressed with a black leotard dancing, not because the cast encompassed most of the Televisa comedy actors in different periods (with the exception of Chespirito's cast). The logo shown here presents the title of the show written with that cheesy font "Brush Script MT" grossly overused by Televisa.

Grupo Cidade looks like it came straight out of my nightmares

never have I laughed at a No. video than this one. the grand prizes makes ime go "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL" at the video, sometimes loudly. some of these are well thought out, good job!

Colombiana de Television at 13? Can't believe there are 12 worse logos. By the way, I love how you kept the music from that FOX station ID for the "what's their grand prize?" segment.

#15 26 years?! That makes you want to write a list of the 10 longest used station ID's. #14 Cuba does however have its fair share of decent ID's as well though. #13 The sound is annoying, but it is way too iconic to be on the list. It at least gave the production company a unique identity, if nothing else. #12 Is there anything to add to this? It is literally the only case I've seen where technology marched backwards. #11 This is the "So bad it's good" B-movie of logo's. No suprise that it's on here. #10 Was confused the first time and now that I get the point I have to admit that I don't care as much for fonts as I should. #9 Thought it was an OK if hopelessly aged late-1980's/early-1990's logo, then I looked at the date. The shock came to me. And the way the station brags about itself only makes it worse. #8 Title card with stock footage. I don't know if it should be on here though. Colombia doesn't have the budget of a Venezuela or Brazil. #7 Bandeirantes is now presenting its worst affiliate ever. They are now having a party celebrating their 1 year anniversary because they'll have to become independent in the next one or die. #6 Old ID is old. #5 And #8 is why this ID has no excuse. #4 This looks sounds like what you'd show in a course on basic ID editing rather than to people on television. #3 And I thought the music video's on VTM were cheap. #2 Are you sure it's plagiarism? We all thought that the Italian TMC was a plagiarism of Globo until we learned that it wasn't. Although, to be fair, even if it wasn't, it deserves to be on that list because of its sheer laziness. #1 Expected it. Got it. Can't say I'm disappointed.

My opinion on the Logos/ID's 15.- Something that really surprises me it's how to long that logo was aired! 14.- I got to be honest I kinda like the jingle but at least they do it better in the 2004 version 13.- AHHHH THAT NOICES!!! 12.- The animation looks like it was made by a MS DOS Animation generator and the network in the actually is a 24/7 news channel and it's called FOROTv 11.- Actually that shit is too extreme dude! The worst part about this ID is that they took the original version from 1994 (which doesn't look THAT bad by itself) and just added a bunch of extra 3D assets + video editor transition abuse to pull it off and make it a "new" ident. My opinion for Top 15 worst IDs from Latin America from No. Entertainment: 15. Jorge Barón Televisión (Colombia, 1991) : Not a bad logo, but this is one of the longest running with 26 years. It's similar with Globo sphere. Overall, it looks like an outdated ident. 14. Cubavisión (1996): Descent, it looks like a billiard ball with half-solid and half-stripes when it moves. 13. Colombiana de Televisión (1979): OMG, This is an earrape signal! Yeah, it sounds like a wave sounds of a callsign, or most likely an alarm. As for the graphics, it looks like a creepy, but c'mon it from the 1970s, and most IDs at the time had a black background. Not a bad ID, but please take this sound out, and change for a pleasant music. 12. XHTV - Canal 4 [Today, FOROtv] (Mexico, 1986): GRAPHICS ON ACID, The number logo it mades similar to WNBC from the 80s, and it is a weird ID with stretching background horizontally. Thankfully, the 1991 ID makes more sense to mean that came from Mexico City. 11. TV Imperial (Record Roraima, 2003): Low-budget ID with a basic CGI, and creepy face that looks like a Terminator. 10. Frecuencia Latina (Peru, 1998): C A M B I O S. Ok, what changes? This phase is insufficient to make a good point. First, the abuse of number of fonts, and second this is "El Contraataque de esta cortinilla" (Cambios' re-counter) because the poor No. is sick of this Peruvian ID when mentions its top lists by the crappy music. PS: ¡VA PARA ABAJO! 9. Rahintel [Today Antena 7] (Dominican Republic, 1998): It supposed to be the early-1990s or late 1980s, but this is the late-1990s ID, when graphics are better than the early versions. At least they make a good graphic with a Low-budget ID, but the camera movement and the TV Screen break, it makes a mediocre ID for me. Of course it is the last ident of the Rahintel era. 8. Punch de Colombia (1979): So outdated that could be a 2D animation at least, because it looks like a 1950s logo. It's more than the fifteenth place of No.'s. 7. ZYB 594 (Band Rondônia, Brazil, 2008): I know that local TV station was celebrating one year, but most of them wouldn't know when is this ID. I researched with this ID about its foundation, and I found when (Well, No. made it first). TV Meridional from Porto Velho and Cacoal commenced its own transmissions in 2007. Plus, most people would be confused with one year and 51 years of Rede Bandeirantes because this logo from São Paulo, has been used from 2002 to 2018. Overall, it's a cheapest special ID with local TV stations and bad music. 6. Teledos [Today América TV] (La Plata, BS. AS., Argentina, 1988): It would be better for an artificial satellite than a spaceship, because most of the Argentine channels at the time, used a special ID to announce that transmissions from Buenos Aires expand to get all corners of the country such as Canal 9. 5. Venezolana de Televisión [VTV] (1994): Too primitive for the mid-1990s when CGI was on the rise, and most of the 1990s made in 3D graphics. 4. ZYB 391 - TV Paranaense [Today, RPC Curitiba, affiliated by Globo] (1995): Pretty cheap for two IDs with a poorly animation. 3. TV Cidade Dourada (Rede TV! Itaituba, Pará, 2009): It should be better with clean textures and good animation with better quality. 2. Canal 4 (Uruguay, 1983): This is a copy of Rede Globo that made three years earlier. Unoriginal and ladrão da vinheta. Dishonorable Mentions: - Universidad Católica de Chile TV [Today, Canal 13 de Chile] (1990): Descent for the 2D Graphics, but it would be better. - ZYB 876 - TV Fronteira Paulista, Globo Presidente Prudente, SP (1998): Mediocre animation and bad music quality, it has great logo though. - Canal 10 (Uruguay, 1994): Copy of Globo's Ident from 1991, and coincidence from CBS Eyemark. - ZYB 305 - TV Asa Branca (Globo Caruaru, PE, 2006): A bad quality of demonstration of the logos, and this GOSHDANG CAMERA MOVEMENT. - Telemundo (1986): A double copy 1979 graphic and the 1986 music from Rede Globo. This is an US Commonwealth, thus Should the U.S. be part of Latin America? Because there is no official language in the country, so Puerto Rico and the state of New Mexico recognize Spanish as an co-official language. Telemundo was founded as WKAQ-TV (Channel 2 of San Juan, Puerto Rico) in 1954, and since SIN (Spanish International Network, now Univisión) expands through the US in 1987, so Telemundo did the same. 1. ZYA 427 - TV Cidade (SBT Fortaleza, CE [Today affiliated with Record TV], 1995): A.PIOR.VINHETA.DE.TUDOS. (WORST.IDENT.EVER.) Seriously, laziest effort to the City accuracy, worst transitions and weird logo ever.

Now they have really good IDs. Its "iron look" sucessor from 1999 looks inspired in ITV Central IDs. 9. A logo from 1959 made into an 80s animation and it was used until 1999. So conservative. So old fashioned. They needed a dose of "tempoubicaine". 8. A still card. Only that. 7. A badly executed good idea. They should have chosen a longer audio file for background and not a stock sound that puts itself in a loop. 6. So cheap. 5. Another 70s idea brought to 90s. At that time, we had a lot better IDs here in Peru. 4. So cheap. It looks like an ID from a Public Access TV station from USA. 3. It really hurt my eyes. 2009-2012? Seriously? That logo and ID scream 2002. At least they chose a good song for music background ("Played-A-Live" by Safri Duo), but choosing a well known song for an ID is typical of small stations, or stations in small markets. 2. Thiefs. Meh, I've seen worse station IDs from the United States. After seeing some of THOSE miserable failures, these don't look that bad to me. EDIT: 15. Looks good for the time. Certainly better than the WNLY-TV IDs. I think they were trying to make a new logo, but sometimes you just can't beat the classics. 14. That's actually a really cool design, & some really smooth animation right there. The music sounds pretty nice as well. 13. That looks really good. Like, for 1979 that is some ADVANCED CGI, or really good use of lighting to make it more advanced than other CGI of that time period. Too bad that they had to use an awful sound. 12. Okay, I just LOVE the trippy look this one has. The music just ADDS to the trippiness. It's like an LSD trip, or something. 11. The music is awesome, but the visuals are... eh, not the best. Pretty bad looking. That face in particular looks nightmarish as heck. 10. I'd say that the music sounds great, & the animation at least looks smooth. This one is just AWFUL. 1. I'll be honest, I actually feel really bad for the person who actually did that piece of animation. It actually looks to be decent, so to see this station just edit it like THAT is straight up awful. What an awful TV station that decided to just edit it like that, & not air it like how it was supposed to be like. I actually want to see the original version to see just how badly they butchered it to pieces. Like, just imagine, you are making an ID for some station, they accept it, you wait, & wait, & wait for it to air. Then you see it look edited as heck. Butchered to death. Random elements of cheap scaling are added in that disrupt the rest of the logo, they cut back and forth to random scenes for no reason, completely replace every bit of sound with something more "hip" with the times, etc. Just, just it just angers me to see just how badly a TV station can just ruin someone's dream of finally contributing to something that big. I could just imagine how angry the guy was when he/she found out that the station did that. Executive meddling at its worst.

LOL the grand prizes, this gets more captivating as it goes on Brazil's least richest state is for sure the world capital of good-and-bad idents. I was sorta expecting Group Cidade to not be 1 or just not be in the list at all, don't know why The Telemundo logo is honestly shocking, not something I expect from an ident from America

it is likely that the audio of the punch logo at 7:16 is just the audio of either the preceding or following program. that happens a lot with logos where people judge them because of a deceptive capture. e.g. the dan curtis logo which is just the ending shot of the film seguing into the credits background and not part of the logo. funny thing is that in earlier revisions of that logo's page on avid the credits background is mentioned as if it were part of the logo while also acknowledging that it is incredit but also mentionin the following metromedia logo as if it were part of the logo too
