I'm a Protestant and I believe I'm being led to the Catholic church. Please pray for me. I want to be a part of the Catholic Church. I don't know where to start. I've done years of study and research on this. Of course with my Protestant background I was very anti Catholic. But reading books, studying history, listening to lectures and seminars. Being frustrated with divisiveness within my tradition . I'm very familiar with theological literature both Protestant and Catholic. I'm drawing closer to Rome now. I travel for work , I'm always away from home. I don't know where to start to become catholic. I can't attend RCIA because I stay away working for months at a time. Can anybody give advice?
I’d say find a good priest and explain your situation, he might allow you to do some studying on your own or one on one’s with him from time to time. I could be wrong but I know I’ve heard of some people being able to do something like that instead of RCIA
Keep watching good solid Catholic you tube videos from excellent priests. I’ve learned so much about the faith by watching you tube. Then when time permits go the the classes. Find a good Parrish near your work. I go to adoration at a church near my work. Learn about sacramentals use them. God loves you and welcomes you with open arms. Come as you are!!
Go to the closet Catholic Church in your home area and talk to the Priest there…Where there is a Will there is a way…also develop a relationship with Jesus…Pray to him…he knows your heart better than even you do…If you truly want this it will happen…Peace Be With You Brother…Go to a Catholic Church…ask and let them know what is in your heart you will find a sponsor and the work will begin🙏🌹✝️🛐

Nearly all Protestants do this, except maybe some Lutherans. I have heard some of the most downright awful, nasty, degrading rhetoric from them essentially slandering and even mocking our Blessed Mother. Some of the really ugly things I’ve especially heard from these evangelical types could rival damn near any atheist or satanist. Many Protestants strangely reserve a deep hatred of our most beloved Panagia.

This priest used to be active in the FSSP parish where I am active. He was transferred a couple of years ago and is now in another state at an FSSP parish. When he was transferred, it was a huge loss to our parish. His sermons were highly edifying. He has occasionally gotten into trouble because he will not compromise the truth. God bless this holy priest. I hope this was a current sermon, and not some retread from years past. But the content is no less true, no matter when it was offered.

Saved is past tense. Washing of regeneration is referring to baptism. Just because your soul was infused with sanctifying grace and you had all your sins, both original and actual, forgiven during baptism, doesn't mean you can't fall back into grave sin and lose that state of grace and destroy the friendship and status to which God raised you.
@@mking7690 You misunderstand the verse. We are saved by Fatih which human eyes cannot see. The works is Christ working through us that others can see our Faith. James was teaching the difference between a head knowledge of Christ compared to a true heart felt faith in Christ. Sort of like water baptism. Water baptism does not save us it is just an outward expression of receiving the Holy Spirit through faith.

As a Protestant, one who is baptized in the Trinitarian faith, who loves the Lord deeply, who reads his Bible and prays for the good of others and his enemies, who holds strongly to the Word of God, and confesses and repents of his sins in prayer to the Lord Jesus, I am assured and confident of my salvation. The Catholic Church has every right to claim descendency from Peter, but to claim that Protestants who have faith in Jesus Christ are not assured of salvation or to claim that Protestants will not enter heaven, is itself a blasphemy. Romans 10, Ephesians 9, etc all declare that the ONLY way to heaven is through Christ and Christ ALONE. Praying to the saints doesn’t earn salvation, praying to Mary doesn’t earn salvation. Only belief in Christ as the son of God does.

I prayed a divine mercy chaplet and rosary as my dad was passing away. He was not officially Catholic but never spoke Ill of the Church and he knew the Hail Mary. I trust what St Faustina says about praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy next to a dying person. Following his funeral a white mist was seen above his casket. I took this as a sign of Gods mercy and he was willing to accept the Lord’s Mercy at the hour of death. I pray for him and the souls of purgatory every day. Some will be there for a very long time 🙏🏼
Please pray the rosary instead the chaplet is very questionable and shouldn’t replace a true teaching as Mary’s salter. I truly hope your father is in heaven.

They may show we are saved, but they have nothing to do with our salvation. Protestants have it Biblically. CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH: The Church prays that no one shall be lost: “Lord, let me never be parted from you.” If it is true that no one can save himself, it is also true that God “desires all men to be saved” (1Tim 2:4), and that for him “all things are possible” (Mt 19:26).
That is true but not everyone will be saved. Once they have died they cannot be saved. Scripture says we live once and when we die we are judged. No prayers can save them.

Some of what is taught in this video is not biblical. The pope has said many things that contradicts scripture. It is best to stand with scripture and use discernment about leader ship. Scripture itself teaches this.

Yes, the church teaches that only God can forgive sin. But Jesus Christ gave authority to the church to forgive sin (albeit it’s not the priest that forgives). Mt 16:19. These apostles have verifiable successes that are ordained to this day. I totally get where you are coming from, I was Protestant for the first 35 years of my life. But once you study their doctrines, you can’t deny. Unfortunately sacred scripture talks about a great deception that causes men to believe lies. Like you, I also subscribed to heresy, I didn’t know any better. You should be angry that you’ve been sold a lie and now believe it. When you persecute the Catholic Church, you are persecuting the Bride of Christ (no the Bride is not the random self declared Christians outside of the church). If you are serious, you need to research their claims yourself. The first thing is to realise that prior to Sacred Scripture being canonised by the Catholic Church (300+yrs after Jesus) their was only Sacred Tradition (oral teachings). John spoke of many things that Jesus did that were not recorded. Those things are known to the Catholic Church in Sacred Tradition. When they put Sacred Scripture into a book, known as the Bible it had an additional 7 books. Luther an excommunicated catholic priest removed 7 books, interestingly those books primarily confined much of the doctrine you deny. Luther actually believed in the communion of Saints and asked Mary to intercede for him. The whole denial of this is only a recent heresy. For 1500 years prior to Luther Christianity was solely catholic. Go to a catholic apologist site and research everything yourself. Once you discover the truth, find a parish and do the RCIA program. Then try and save as many deceived non Catholics as possible. Their souls matter.

@ODMA That's not what Mathew 16:19 means. It actually means the church is to spread the gospel and tell people of the coming of the Kingdom of God. They have no authority to forgive, only to let people know how to do it according to the words of Jesus. It is up to each individual to ask forgiveness directly to Jesus. Not through any mediator.

The Apostle Paul received direct revelation from Jesus, per the Bible. Paul taught salvation by faith alone. No Church needed. And any religion that teaches otherwise is in violation of God's Word.
Our Lord founded a real brick and mortar Church with men in charge. Jesus spoke to the 7 Churches, as noted in Rev 1, those were real places, some were even former pagan temples.

@FireKoovin What’s hard for me is that a lot of the things I have heard from Catholics seem to contradict the Bible, and it seems like Catholics believe that they have authority to create doctrine. Some of the doctrine that they make feels to me like man-made doctrine that has nothing to do with Jesus’ words, and I always thought that Jesus wanted to eliminate man-made rules so that we could fully focus on him and his words.

Purgatory that's based on a Jewish practice, Saint Peter's upside-down crucifixion was only ever mentioned in the gnostic gospels, the sinless state of Mary Joseph and John was concluded by both scripture(just the Mary one) and early thought.

Where in the Bible does it say Mary was sinless? Where in the Bible does it say we need to ask Saints who have passed to pray to God for us? Where does it say that the papacy was meant to be past down from one man to another? I’m just having a hard time seeing why I would ever want to be Catholic based on what the Bible says.

I need prayers. I know there are probably just two people praying for me, and I’m not even sure about them. I’m a cradle Catholic, and have been through quite a journey. Because of a life filled with struggle and prolonged abuse of all sorts, I became an atheist at some point, and then, about six years ago, I started believing in God again. Ever since then, it’s been a rollercoaster between different Christian denominations. I’ve been studying, losing sleep, I got deceived by false doctrines, but I haven’t stopped believing in the Trinity, and in Jesus. I pray to Mary and the Saints now. I’m making my way back to Catholicism, but there’s a huge stumbling block for me: going to Confession. I have severe social phobia and complex PTSD, which makes every day of my life really hard. I get panic attacks just thinking about going to confession, and this is not about what I would confess, it’s something that I remember causing me great anxiety even when I used to go as a child. Hard to explain, but it just makes me miserable. It would cause me to be in a heightened state of anxiety between one confession and another because I know that the next one is coming up. I confess my sins, with deep sorrow, to God in private. I pray acts of contrition, I desperately ask Him to please forgive me about not managing to go to Confession. There’s nothing more I desire than spending eternity with Him, even if it means centuries spent in Purgatory. I love Him, yet I am afraid. I wish I could find peace, and praying the Our Father is what helps to calm me the most. So, this is my situation, and I’m asking anyone who reads this to please pray for me. Please pray that God have Mercy on me and saves me, despite missing Confession (and therefore the Eucharist, too). I would gladly take the Eucharist but I know it’s prohibited to do so unless one has been to confession first. God, have mercy on me. 😢

You are the first person to say this explicitly, that I have heard, but I have long suspected this to be the truth. Thank you for this. I am catholic, and I always try to explain to non catholics I meet the truth, some hear, some don't, but it is from a place of love and truth.

Read your Bible folks. The “7 sacraments” are not there. Nor is the church itself salvation. Nor is praying to Mary or the angels. Nor is having a gigantic hierarchical clergy dripping in all the trappings of this world. Nor is celibacy. Open the book 📖 and cast off all these man-made inventions.
Thank you Father. I've always held the conviction that, honest and sincere, non-Catholic's would not be left out in the cold. I know so many wonderful Protestant's, our Christian bros and sis's, that put Catholic's to shame. I've also felt secure that Gods' mercy is greater than our feeble limitations, despite my doubts, at times, over this question. A wonderful, and encouraging, sermon on the limitless love, kindness and consideration that God has for us, His children.
It is not the church who decides salvation, it is God who will judge all mens hearts and his justice is merciful and perfect. I have faith in that promise and while not catholic I sacrifice for God and do my very best to be worthy of that mercy

That teaching comes from an extra biblical source. The same source also said that we could give money to the church to provide forgiveness of sins which is a massive insult to Jesus considering the price he paid with his blood on the cross

However, it is not appropriate for us to say what God can or can not do, furthermore, the fullness of God’s knowledge, judgement, and mercy is not known to us to the extent that we may say no soul can be saved after death. Even the Holy Scriptures tell us that the gentiles who have not the law, are a law unto themselves, with their own conscience bearing witness, both defending and accusing themselves, on that day when all souls are brought before the Judgement Seat of Christ (Romans 2:12-29). Surely, none can be saved without Christ, but we can not ourselves determine who our Lord will choose to save or not. Not even every Christian will be saved, afterall, for many will say Lord, Lord (Matthew 7:22). None of us can be so certain who will be saved and who will be condemned, we all require God’s mercy. Even for the reason that we are told there is but one judge, we should not make hard statements of what can and can’t be done when talking about an act only God has business in making judgements on.
I was once a Roman Catholic. Having read the Bible I know how much error the Roman Catholic Church is in. Christ is my saviour, NOT the pope or the teachings of the pope. Christ is my saviour Not Mary, although I have respect for her. I will never bow down to Mary or the pope. Also, I will NEVER, EVER be good enough to earn salvation, no matter how much I try, I am trusting in Christ’s goodness to save me, NOT my own, as I have none. Jesus suffered and died on a cross, taking the punishment I deserved to take, He bore my sin on that cross and rose again as He said He would. Romans 8;1-2 says……Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. Turn to Christ for your salvation, the perfect sinless one gave His life for us who are sinners. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3;16 Trust in The Saviour my friends, not the teachings of man. 🙏
What a giant mess we humans have made of Christianity. The Catholic, the Orthodox, and more than 30.000 different protestant churches, each one saying they are the only true Church of Christ. This is so embarrassing and confusing! I´m Catholic and stick to my church only because I have to play ball and make a choice or I will go crazy. Guess who´s cheering and partying in this giant mess? God have mercy on all of us because we´ve done such a terrible job!! Do you know who is my only consolation? It is the Virgin Mary, I do all she asks me to do, pray the Rosary daily, go to Confession frequently, receive the Eucharist every week, and hope for the best! The only solution is a direct intervention of God. Jesus, please, come soon!!!

Seems as if "the Church" is your God rather than Christ. It is complete and utter blasphemy to think that someone would go to hell for being in the wrong "Church". Your faith in Christ alone is what saves you, no good work. And even your faith is from God, our salvation is not our own.
As a thought experiment for Catholics who think those outside the church can't make it to heaven, I want you to consider this short biography of St. Seraphim, an Orthodox saint who was never in the Catholic church: One day, while chopping wood, Seraphim was attacked by a gang of thieves who beat him mercilessly with the handle of his own axe. He never resisted, and was left for dead. The robbers never found the money they sought, only an icon of the Theotokos (Virgin Mary) in his hut. Seraphim had a hunched back for the rest of his life. However, at the thieves' trial he pleaded to the judge for mercy on their behalf. He spent five months in the monastery, recovering from his injuries and then returned to the wilderness.[1] After this incident Seraphim spent 1,000 successive nights on a rock in continuous prayer with his arms raised to the sky, a feat of asceticism deemed miraculous by the Eastern Orthodox Church, especially considering the pain from his injuries. What does belief mean, include and require? Muslims "believe" in Jesus, so Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. Even Satan believes in Him, but that doesn't mean they're Christians.

Baptism of the spirit has nothing to do with water. Sola scriptura is a heresy. Where in the bible does it say that the bible is the sole foundation of Christian faith? The church fathers, before the canonization of the very bible protestants use, based their Christian living on TRADITION. The true church, the one Jesus Christ established, is based on scripture AND tradition. You reject catholicism because you don’t want a life of true devotion to our Lord. You insist on believing that faith alone is sufficient for salvation contrary to what is biblical and taught by the Catholic Church that salvation is through faith AND works. “To be deep in history is to cease to be protestant.” I will pray for you.

Pray for our protestant friends. My closest friend is a baptist, and is not interested in doing the necessary research to learn the Truth, no matter how much I've tried to explain it to him. It is not out of hate for the Church, but out of laziness, and confidence in protestant "interpretations", which are truly flawed once examined... but protestants will not admit the flaws of their arguments, especially if these arguments are the last strings keeping them attached to their protestant reality, families, friendships, lives. *Schism from the Church truly is a crime... because those who schism away from the body "convince" and brainwash current & future generations with their errors, sending millions in Hell, letting them believe that they are "in Christ".* It is a deception.

I read in a Sunday Daily Visitor, paper, a priest answered a question , that if one does not know the Catholic church is the true church , and tries to be a good christian, .that they, too, can be saved.
Protestant here (Baptist). While I actually think the main purpose of this entry/sermon was to kick a hornets nest, I want to go ahead and respond anyways. There are some things about the Catholic Church I like, such as the architecture, artwork, and style of worship. I also like the Latin chants, and I think it's a good tradition worth continuing. That being said, I cannot accept any doctrines as valid which do not come from the Bible, and particularly which contradict the Bible. The Catholic Church accepted the Ptolemaic cosmology (which was wrong), and accused Galileo of heresy because he went against that, not because he said anything which was Biblically incorrect. The Catholic Church currently accepts evolution (which is not only wrong, but also contradicts the Bible). Also, why is the current pope shilling for the fake Global Warming narrative? The Bible says God will never again destroy the world with a flood, as Christians we don't worry about global warming. The fact that they did these things shows that the concept of "Papal Infallibility" is clearly wrong, as the popes were clearly wrong on these issues. Furthermore, there is nothing in the Bible to support Papal Infallibility. There's nothing the Bible to support purgatory, salvation after death, or praying to anything other than God. Also, Priests are supposed to be married according to 1 Timothy 3:2: "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach." The idea that priests must be celibate is not something from the Bible, but rather of human invention. So, if you want me to join the Catholic church, there needs to be some reforms. The architecture, music, and most of the procedures can stay, but the Bible has to be the only source of doctrine. You need to get back to Sola-Scriptura and exegesis, and then I would be willing to come. When you preach a sermon, you have to make all your points based on scripture, and what you're saying has to be supported by scripture and lining up with it. The opinions of popes and other humans are not scripture. The Bible is already written, and the last words in the Bible say not to add anything else to it, so there we are.
Consider that you are not the first person to bring these things up in the 2,000 year history of the Church. There is a reason for all of the above, and you just don't have complete understanding. Papal infallibility only applies to Ex Cathedra not everything the Pope does and says. The understanding of the Church and the life of Christ became more refined over the centuries (without contradiction, and there is a standard to determine this) - Jesus was unmarried and a virgin, He is the High Priest. St. Paul wrote it is better to remain as he is, unmarried in order to only please God, not spouse and God. The Church has the authority to decide that bishops and priests will not marry, they are spiritual fathers to the laity, and so, they decided it was fitting. Sola scriptura is not in the Bible, the Church and Tradition predate the Bible, so there is no "going back" as it didn't exist until (ex-Father) Martin Luther made it up whole cloth. The Pope does indeed have the authority - Jesus gave it to him with the Keys. The Liturgies of the Church (Holy Mass, Breviary) readings are nearly all from Holy Scripture. Homilies per the rubrics (GIRM) are supposed to illuminate the content of the Mass readings. Pope Francis? He's not traditional, he's a modernist. And this too shall pass, keep your eyes on Jesus. The Church is us human beings in a fallen world with fallen natures, with all our human frailty and error (and the Church is also the saints in heaven - the Church Triumphant, and the saints undergoing perfection in purgatory - the Church Suffering who need our prayers, as nothing impure can stand before God).
@@maryharrington8983 It might surprise you, but Martin Luther really isn't important to most Protestants or thought about at all. All he did was say that scripture is the supreme authority, which it is, and that's one thing that we all agree on except for those who are slipping into heresy. What does the Bible say is the only question that matters, and it's the only way to settle disputes with authority. The Bible is God's word, and either we can trust it, or we can't. If we can't trust it, then there's nothing we can trust. If we can trust it, then anything a human being says has to be weighed against that, and if there's a disagreement we go with the Bible. So someone in the 1200's does not have the authority to add to scripture, anymore than the people today who are still trying to do so. The Bible is the only legitimate source of doctrine. Everything else is just a matter of opinion, and most of those opinions came about later.
You harden you heart to the true church founded by Jesus Christ Himself. If you are anti Catholic. Means you are Anti Christ. When the Warning of God Illumination of Conscience comes you will come back to the body of Christ in the Catholic Churcb and confess your sins to the Priest, receive Jesus body and blood in the Holy Eucharist and be Baptize. @@Procopius464 No, I'm not surprised. I've met Protestants who don't even know they are Protestants; they think they are "Christians" as if Catholics are not Christians. They believe each individual has the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning of Scripture, but don't notice the tens of thousands of disagreements and discrepancies and denominations (and spectrum of beliefs). They interpret Scripture through 21st century eyes, not knowing the culture of the 1st century, or the history of the Church, how the early Church practiced and what early Christians believed. The problem with Scripture being the supreme authority is that Scripture states (John) that all that Jesus taught, if written down the world could not contain all the books, right? And Jesus did not write a book, he did not direct the Apostles to write a book, he told them to tell the good news, and he told us to believe and be baptized. Jesus never said, read the Bible. There was no Bible until several decades later, gathered from the universal teachings read and preached in the churches. Saint John Henry Cardinal Newman, a Catholic convert said " To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant." There are major discrepancies with Sola Scriptura (especially it's absence in Scripture itself) which are unresolvable. God bless.

Where in the Bible does it say anyone can be saved after death or that purgatory is real? What do you have to say about your current pope pushing global warming? It's pretty obvious that this guy does not believe the Bible, therefore he can't possibly be speaking for God. Also, anytime someone claims to speak for God but contradicts the Bible, then that person is wrong, and working in the spirit of the Antichrist.
The priest is correct in that there is no guarantee of final salvation, simply in that we haven't died yet. We can generally be sure that we are in a state of grace though.
I'll pray today's Rosary for their conversion! And hopefully by seeing your devotion and zeal you'll help them realize their errors and come back to the Church.

Corrupt teaching....God tells us we we are guaranteed a place in heaven when we believe. Read a Bible. I know most Catholics don't have one of their own to read.
In the past, and that was a shame. I am a Baptist and some say product of the protest, but I am so thrilled that today many many Catholic and Orthodox friends have their own Bibles and are reading them for themselves!
