Easiest way to make a mask from a t shirt with no sewing! This easy DIY face mask hack is fast, easy, washable, reusable and has a filter pouch. Emergency face protection fast!
I just wanted to thank you for making this. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to sewing, but I was still able to follow your instructions and make 2 masks tonight! You might in fact be a lifesaver.
This is a good simple design and the only two layer t-shirt mask I could find quickly on youtube. It would be easier to cut off the bottom of the t-shirt before cutting it open, then you wouldn't have to bother cutting off the sleeves.
This is a great no sew option for a face mask. I would suggest another filter....one that is much more effective as a filter. You know the blue Walmart bags you can buy for 50 cents? They are a nonwoven fabric, which means it is harder for anything to get through it. You can simply cut a piece to fit inside the mask and then your mask is much more effective in keeping your germs in and outsiders germs out. Stay safe and thank you.
That is a wonderful idea! I made one early on like that and been playing with other ways to make them. I think somebody may have posted a video about it. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I've written out instructions for this: cut off botton 12 inches of t-shirt from one side to other cut open one side and open -fold in half long way so fabric is 6" wide and very long -leaving a 10" x 6" square in the middle for face, cut two long rectangles out of sides leaving 1 1/2" wide ties extending to sides from top and bottom -cut four small holes in vertical line on either side of center rectangle -thread 6 inch thin pieces of t-shirt material through holes starting at same side of fabric for both -gather and tie so center rectangle is approximately 3" wide -if you wish, put a filter in pocket formed -place on face with pocket on top and tie top ties behind neck -tie bottom sides behind head -trim ties if needed Adjust without touching front of mask, try not to touch when out. Wash at night after going out. Store in clean, safe place.
