Sorry for the delay! It's Thanksgiving week, so I'm in my hometown visiting with my family. My mom & I worked on these blankets all day yesterday! But, they take awhile - and so does filming & editing. Didn't want to skip this week's DIY, though, so I hope you enjoy. :) I'm staying in my hometown all next week as well! I will be making some Christmas home decor projects with my mom to show you all.

We made fleece throw blankets in Girl Scouts when I was younger for the people in the cold. And we did this same method. I made a whole blanket myself. It took forever, but it was so much fun!!

Love your videos and happy spirit! For real easy measuring I use blue painters tape 2" width over and over! Whether single layer blanket or double, I take the roll of tape, for the first time stick to the edge at end of a long side and roll to other end cut tape.. Take a yard stick and mark 1" or whatever width your strips will be mare the increments hash tags with a ball point pen.(Hash marks only need to be about 1/4-1/2" horizontally long) For my cut out squares at the corners I made simple templates using card board from a cereal box, for 2" - 5" squares you can then just lay on the corners to get nice even squares. Cut your corners out using template depending on what edging you are doing.. Then lay your blue tape from cut out corner to other corner. Now you can cut your strips nice and even. I use this blue tape strip over and over and can get about 6 blankets or more out of one strip. Specially good for those of us who have "older eyes or unsteady hands". No buying expensive measuring mats! Keep up your "craftiness!' You do an awesome job!

In craft club at my school we did a giving tree, you get a piece of cross stitch fabric and you draw a tree on it then (put on a pair of gloves) you get stamp pads and use your fingers too put leaves on the tree. You can write the first letter of last name on it like I did. Also the get hot glue gun (should do this first) and glue a stickk (we use a long cinnamon one) to it then get some yarn or string and tie it to each side of stick and your done.

My grandma and I make these all the time. A few tips I have. If you don't have an area large enough to lay your fabric out, use a bed. Just don't cut the bed. My second tip is for when cutting to corners. Make a teplate out of some scrap cardboard.

Sarah u are probably the most CRAFTASTIC person I know (I know it cheesy) and I started crafting because of you over the summer I would stay home and really not do much but one time a few (like around 2-3 years ago) I went to this museum with my school and went to the gift the gift shop and they had one of those really cool candy wrapper purse and I thought wow I like to buy it but it was a lot of money so when I got home I went on RU-vid and I looked up how to make a candy wrapper purse and somehow I randomly came to notice ur channel (the first video I saw was ur candy wrapper jewelry video) and I loved it so then I went on ur channel and started watch more of your videos and now CRAFTING has become a HUGE part of my LIFE and I just want to say THANK YOU I know this was long but if you took your time to read this I REALLY APPRECIATE IT I love you SARAH ❤️ and you are INZAYNLY TALENTED

I like your tutorial. I am working with an organization that gives blankets to children in hospitals and when they were training us on how these blankets should be done, they specified not to make them look like fitted sheets in the corners. I guess you wold need to pull and stretch or maybe not make the knots too tight in the corners but I notice they do tend to do that.

Would pinking shears work for this instead of fabric scissors? I think it may help with the weird stretching thing the fleece does, plus add a nice little edge on the tied pieces.
