I had the exact same sound and freezing issues on a Google Pixel (first one). Here's what worked for me, by going to: Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced > Enhanced LTE set it to OFF, then restart the phone and make a test call (this option will only set the voice to 3G, not the LTE data). If the above didn't work, then try this by going to: Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced > Preferred Network Type set it to 3G, then restart the phone and make a test call (note that with this option you will loose LTE for both voice and data, but at least you will get sound again, and no more freezing). At least on the original Google Pixel, basically these issues are caused by a defective LTE voice chip and nothing to do with the microphone or speaker, so disabling the LTE voice chip by setting it to 3G, it seems to fix the problem. Note that this trick will only work with GSM/LTE service, and not with CDMA/LTE like Verizon since there's no way to disable the LTE voice due to the missing menu settings. Please leave a comment if this trick has worked for you (or even if it hasn't worked ;)
Yes Mike, it seems to working here in the US with the voice LTE off (on some phones with both voice and data on 3G only), I've been testing it for a couple of days, and so far so good. :)
If this video doesn't help try one of these. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k04iR7Vt2JA.html Soundabout (for older Android versions Nougat and below ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XfMWlTEfOeA.html Audio Router (works great with Oreo and older versions) Let me know your comments and suggestions for other fixes below.
Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to ..... pls help me when i call someone. with normal call its properly working but when i turn on loudspeaker the mic isnt working.
Audio router seems to work! Thank you. (although am Not sure m doing the right way :) I unrouted/disabled/off the earpiece in hardware section. But I ve selected earpiece into the "phone call" section. Is it correct?. It works tho. Am hearing loud enough (probably from bottom down speaker)
@@mikesunboxing hi mate. My phone has started to do this again even after doing the fix you suggested. Do you have any other videos on what to do next, thank you.
I've seen all you videos about no sound and thank you for that but my Nokia 8 with 8.1 and latest security patch have dead earpiece (I think) with headset and speaker all works fine but no earpiece. Really want this shit to work
Hi Tomas, and thanks for watching. Okay some questions if you don't mind. You say that the headset and earphones work okay? Is there an icon on the top notification area to show that a headset is plugged in? If so, does it stay there when you take the jack plug out? Have you tried the audio router app? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XfMWlTEfOeA.html This will force audio to the specified device or port. Try this and report back for more options. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Hey Mike I've got a Google pixel and it seems like ever since I updated to the Android V9 microphone doesn't work while making calls, the only way for people to hear is if I turn on the speakerphone, If you could help I'd greatly appreciate it
Have you tried turning off the voice activated google now stuff? This works for a lot of people. Or maybe try soundabout or audiorouter, although they haven't updated the app in a while so not sure if they support pie yet?
This worked. When I would make an outgoing call, my screen would go blank,I could hear the other end, but they couldn't hear me. Turning off Voice Assist was all it took to fix. Just traded in an iPhone for my first Android (Pixel 3). Great phone but seems less polished in some ways. This bug should have been caught earlier in testing.
David this bug has been around for a few years and a few generations of Android, I think even Marshmallow suffered from it from memory. It must be a combination of apps that triggers it because general in the factory state it doesn't seem to happen.
@@mikesunboxing First thing I did after unboxing was try a phone call and had no issues. Maybe a red herring, but I later retrained the voice model separate from doing so in the welcome process, and then saw this issue shortly after.
Interesting observation there. Maybe the voice training or listening service gets triggered or switched on and doesn't release the hooks until rebooted or something forces it to stop, like disabling it. That's my theory.
Just got off the phone with google and fixed my phone. these are the steps settings apps and notifications phone clear cache and storage uninstall updates play store my apps and games download update for the phone worked for me after that hope this helped
Hi, I have a Galaxy S10e. People can hear me in a call but I cant hear them. I have tried to find the voice option but I cannot find it. Any help is deeply appreciate it, please.
sorry i don't know my way around samsung phones, you might need to check with the manufacturer where the setting is. Although your problem sounds more like a speaker issue than the mic
I use a redmi note 5 pro, this issue just started today google voice typing works and ok google works but calls and voice recorder don't work i have to pit it on speaker phone to male calls
Reanna Xoxo Does noise cancelling appear in the settings section? if not there is a strong possibility that the sound chip or mic are physically damaged, in this case it is best to take the phone to a repair shop or apple store for a hardware test and examination.
My problem is that I can't hear them but they can hear my idk if there's something wrong with my speaker or what but I literally have sound all the way up I can't hear them but they can hear me
I tried everything but its not working everything was normal but today when I called someone she was not able to hear my voice and I also have to on the speaker to listen please help....

Others can't hear my voice but i can hear them when call on my Samsung galaxy j4. In order enabled Android system web view i have to disable chrome. I can't enable both. Help. Thanks in advance.
Hloo sir... Iam using honor7x whenever i attend the call ican hear they voice but they can't hear me and its only voice calls another calls like WhatsApp call no problem
Hi I have s7edge but when I am on loudspeaker I can hear the caller but the caller can't hear me properly or not at all sometime,I'd b great full if you have any solution for this
On the S7/Edge there are two microphones, one on the bottom, the other on top (on the top of the frame, a tiny hole next to the sim tray, and I'm not talking about the sim trays eject hole but next to it a smaller one). Whenever you switch between normal calls and speaker phone, those mics are being switched for each mode. It's possible that one of those mics are defective. Speaker phone uses both at the same time, and if one of them is defective, it will not work. You may want to take it to a qualified local repair shop who are knowledgeable, it's a not a easy problem to fix.
Hmm interesting. Normally it is the other way around. Can they here you if you use a headset? And does the earpiece work for other apps like WhatsApp etc?
@@mikesunboxing no I am unable to hear it via headphones...this case applies in what's app also...the only way I can hear a call is via speaker phone...but I am able to hear songs via speaker phone...
Okay so pretty much all audio will work it it is routed to the loud speaker, but the earpiece is completely silent. There is a phone test you can run to test all phone functions I'll see if I can find the details for you. It seems that your earpiece is possibly having a hardware fault. I can't remember if I asked if you have performed a full factory reset. And if that changes anything?
@@mikesunboxing its me answering tho and excuse me :) Well...THAT is what exactly happenes to me. Yes they hear me if I use a headset and i may hear them (in call vol perfect) too. I gave up (without the headset, which I dont like to use) and I just enable the SPEAKER when calling
