Loving all the video's. You have given me a crash course on how to fix a lot of Polaris issues, which is a good thing because I have 5 of them in my Garage right now! Thanks so much for continuing to make these. 🙃
i have a98 polaris sportsman 500 engine breaking system.put carb.fuel pump,fuel filter ,fuel shutoff spark plug ,ran 30 sec then quit,removed black wire on both cdi and reverse limiter and throttle shutt off switch,still ran for 30 sec then quit,now put ebay cdi on same short run then quit,had spark until it quit,3 carbs and 2 fuel pumps and 3 weeks later , finally purchased used coil would not run tested coils ok used coil had bad coil wire but good boot,mine had good wire bad boot.swithed everything around and now it almost throws you off machine on take off with no hesitations.i watch your videos and have used some of your information thanks for doing these
heres a good one for you .. 2002 polaris 500 ranger.. New cam interminiting spark . but fired up ran like never be for it was scary fast came home backed it in my garage went out the next day no start cranks over NO SPARK!!!! coil show's its grounded replaced it 3 different coil... But crank it over with a probe on coil wire from CDI it flickers like is pulsing ... but no spark ... CHECKED Every wire on the CDI Box NO Power to CDI Box ????? why ... ALL I WANT TO DO IS SELL THIS THING I WANT IT GONE AND WANT MY MONEY BACK ON THIS THING any help would be great...
I am working on a 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I am having a no spark issue. I have unplugged the black wire from cdi box and it fires right up no problem so I replaced the kill switch with a brand new Polaris kill switch and now back at ground zero. I have replaced all Components dealing with spark and Still having the same issue. Since then I have put all Polaris Components dealing with spark back on. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.
If you used the china aftermarket stuff it's more headaches. My guess is it's the cdi. But check your wires going to the kill switch. If they are green by the plugs your gonna have issues. Clean all your grounds too.
I am working on 2004 sportsman 50 ho early model A04ch50AC, no spark or very week all ohm and voltages are to speck trigger, stator, igniter coil, all clean grounds. Coil was bad so replaced it.Gets 180 peak vdc from cdi box to coil but crappy spark, all timing marks line up good, 90 psi compression good. Just want to get it to fire up using starting fluid. 1 burned wire coming from ingtion switch just got hot replaced it all other wires good. Finaly replaced every thing stator, cdi, coil, voltage reg, ect. Kill switch checks out good but bypassed it, throttle kill adjusted right. Any help would be good. Also need to know if maybe it is because it dose not have a speedometer in it. I have worked several 400 & 500 never had problem like this!
Speedo isn't the problem unless there is an issue with the wiring going to it. If your 4x4 didn't work or it didn't light up. That would be a problem with the speedo. To me it sounds like you have hot wires touching somewhere. did you use aftermarket electronics? I have had issues with them. cdi bad after 2 starts. run stop kill switch bad after a week. also do your wires look green when you unplug the kill switch. hard to diagnose without seeing it. Keep in mind power goes to the key first, then the kill switch, the speedo is in the middle somewhere, then to the cdi and rectifier.
@@TitaniummanGarage ok i will retrace power to all switches in that order, had china cdi when i got it did put a second one in, 4x4 wires are not even hooked up the wires have been cut coils test good, i think someone poured a quart of oil in stator housing pretty sure stator was not working right even tho it tested good. Pull start pully and guts were ground in to little pieces. Don't think the crank seal is bad that why i want to get it to fired up incase i need to pull motor and rebuild. There is no speedo in it at all its missing. Where is a good source for parts that is not china junk? Some green in plugs, cleaned all connectors with vinegar and electrical contact cleaner. This thing is mess. Ps your videos are great lots of good info !! Thanks jerry
I don’t understand you changed all those parts and it’s going to be the kill switch , the stator might have been good and the cdi if fine if it runs without kill switch wire usually (black+white)
@@TitaniummanGarage I got a ole 99 runs great . Hardly use it anymore just sits . Every once and a while I rip it around the house . Needs some brake line work. But I don’t go very fast . Probably one of my most reliable machines
@@TitaniummanGarage I did that didn't make a difference even tryed new cdi boxes and Only way it will run is with rev override pushed in! It's weird! Even replaced rev limiter and regulated! Oh well runs good! At least don't have to hold the rev over ride for 4wd in reverse! Have you ever run into where the front hub seal rubs a groove in the hub sleeve? The fuild leaks out! Ran into alot of that and replace hub sleeve! Got becareful when getting a replacement some are aluminum and need the steal sleeve for magnetic coil to work!
