I saw them during the N. American portion of this tour. I found out literally the day before the concert that they were even playing in my town, and the ticket purchase was a total, last-minute impulse buy - something to do on a night off, just to stave off boredom, more than anything else. I bought two tickets from the box office of the auditorium, and I jokingly asked the ticket agent if there were any front row seats left, knowing full well there wouldn’t be. But to my shock, she said, “I have *exactly* two front row tickets left, but nobody has wanted them because the seats are ‘possibly obstructed’ by sound equipment.’” I took the chance and bought them. 24 hours later, I was very pleasantly surprised that we had no obstructions whatsoever, and my brother and I spent the entire show about 10 feet from the stage. When the Crowes hit the stage - opening with this very same song (my favorite) - we all stood up and started cheering wildly. At that moment, a dozen or so security guys started ordering us to sit back down, which was a total bummer. But Chris Robinson saw this and began shouting at the guards, “Fuck that! Let them stand up, goddamnit!” And they did, which made us love him twice as much. While I can’t say that the Black Crowes have ever been my favorite band, I can say without ANY equivocation that that was the single best concert I have ever attended during my 51 years on this planet. They absolutely rocked the fucking house like no one I have EVER seen … and I’ve seen a lot.
Great story. Back in the day they had their fan club Taller and they would set aside those tickets for the members of the club. Guessing your tickets were not purchased by fan club members so were put back into the sale pot. Seen the Crowes nearly 50 times and these High as the Moon shows were the best. This was a band in top of their game.
Amen. I saw them during this tour in ‘92 - totally lucked into a couple of front row tickets at literally the last minute and took my little brother along. Absolutely blew my mind.
To this day my favorite BC song! I saw the High as the Moon tour, opened with No Speak No Slave and the show just kicked ass from start to finish. Sitting on Covid postponed tickets for 2021!!!!!
Man, I had a religious experience just watching the video, I can't even imagine what if felt like for the crowd seeing this live...or better yet for the one Chris had up on stage.
