We make first contact with the MiniBrute 2S from Arturia in our #NotalkJustSound series. We explore some of sounds and sequencing capabilities the new MiniBrute 2S offers, from searing arpeggios, punchy basses, 303 style squelches and more! Fun fact - in this video, we used only the factory sequences that come loaded by default, and as you will hear... there are some very cool ones!
The Eventide H9 is also along for the ride, to add a splash of classy reverb, no other EQ or post processing has been applied to the sound!
We strongly recommend using headphones or quality studio monitors to fully hear the rich harmonic content in this video!

Very nice !! I wonder if you can play the same sequences with the same sounds and variations on the matrixbrute? ... The matrixbrute seems more complete, but get the same sounds ? Some sounds look like the TB303 (accents and glides on each note -> 3:37) Thanks a lot !!

The sound is mono - It sounds in places to me if there is some reverb, from the h9 effects processor. The reply which refers to it being a mono-synth is completely incorrect and is not a proper answer to your question, It is a monophonic output of notes , meaning there is only one note sounding at a time , not chords or duophony , but can be made to be paraphonic which means the amp and filter are the same but is a kind of pseudo duophony. Be aware that the subtle stereo effect is not part of the synth's sound of its own and is an additional enhancement of the overall sound from the expensive H9 .

I have a gen 1 minibrute and one thing I love most about it is the amp envelope but I do notice the 2s doesn't have one so I'm wondering of it would still be a good synth for plucks and stab sounds I don't really know to much on modular synths

the adsr env is normalized to the amp as far as i know. if need be it can be assigned to alot of different parameters using the patch bay. but in general, of course it got an amp assignable env. i cant imagine a synth which doesn't have one ;)

Literally all subtractive synths have an amp envelope. What do you mean you noticed this doesn’t have one? Have you looked at it?

Ray Tillman eh whatever you say. No one plays or records their synths dry the vast majority of the time and most every synth sounds much better with effects. I think both is the way to go. Idk why anyone would want a 20-30 minute demo of JUST dry synth sounds unless it’s a harsh noise tutorial.

Did you or anyone who owns the 2s notice if the sequencer communicates well with external midi controllers? For instance in the sequence mode, I’d be interested in typing in the pitch with an external keyboard rather than using the encoders above the pads

Yes and no. You can sequence each oscillator separately but will still only be one voice a piece.

tHE QUESTION REFERS TO THE TYPE OF AUDIO OUTPUT , IT IS MONO , BUT WHAT U R HEARING IS THROUGH THE REVERB EFFECT OF THE H9 , SO IT HAS A HINT OF REVERB OR DELAY , TO GIVE THE SOUND WIDTH AND A SPATIAL FEEL , . THIS IS DIFFERENT AND NOT RELATED TO THE OTHER REPLY SAYING IT IS A MONO-SYNTH, THIS IS REFERRING TO THE FACT THAT IT OUTPUTS A MONOPHONIC SEQUENCER LINE OF NOTES.

"Sounds"? Newbie.😂It's a true analog synth with a cool sequencer but without patch memory (Maybe you're thinking of a rompler or a digital synth that the reviewer can cycle through lots of pre-made patches that you'd never use in a track). So he's showing off the beast of a sequencer, filter, envelopes and patch bay. But, holy shit, the patch/sequence around the 3:00 mark is so funky, maybe your taste in music is megaboring.😂 And btw, the MiniBrute 2S is only $150 more than that guitar pedal he's using, so no, it's not expensive.

Shows some versatility of Minibrute 2s.. but only 30% of its capability .. All 'songs' do have some sort of flow and/or harmony... but very abstract musically Personally, I'm not inspired
