I think the reason why it’s ridiculously hard to break Usain’s record, especially for someone who only specializes in the 200 is the opening 100…. In as much as all world class sprinters today are capable of closing much faster than the man ever did, their times are far slower than the WR because Usain’s crazy 100m speed that he just took to the 200 as well… and mind you, that also takes some insane endurance

i think u hit the nail on the head when u said fatigue played a big part in his end season performances, as he gets older he will build up more stamina and sustain, id like to see u do a similar breakdown of joseph fahnbullehs closing 50 and 100m cos when he gets moving hes like a train its just a shame he loses so much ground in that first 30-40m, im surprised his coach has suggested him trying the 400m where a poor start isnt as detrimental as it is in the shorter distances, another great vid from TRP keep them coming as theyre much appreciated

Knighton will run in the 9.8x this next season if he focuses on the 100m at all. That in itself should help him be a consistent 19.50 or lower (under ideal conditions even American Record or WR as he gets older). If Knighton stays healthy over the next few years we could see something I never thought would happen in my lifetime - a rival to Usain Bolt's dominance. Remember that he was only 18 years old last year, what he has done is absolutely absurd.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but here's my prediction of his performances next season: - He'll break Trayvon Brommel's American U-20 Record, but he won't break Tebogo's U-20 World Record. Also I said Trayvon's American record, not Area Record because I think Nkrumie will be even faster than Knighton and Trayvon's record. - He won't beat his 19.49 PB (Notice how I said PB not World U-20 Record, World Athletics haven't ratified his 19.49 'record' since it was at random LSU meet that's most likely fraudulent). - However, here comes the positives, he'll increase his 200m averages and knock Bolt and others out of the Top 15 as a whole. I also predict him to run 19.7 in the World Championship Final for the silver/bronze.

Its sad to see grown people put out negative karma unto Knighton. He is a great young sprinter, and appears to have his head in the right direction as an athlete. He is just really starting in this sport, Americans should be happy that we are starting to see the men sprinters come back into the fold. Everyone wants Knighton to be be Usain, but they are two totally different athletes. His times will get faster as he matures and his muscles develop, if he avoids major injuries. Lyles took years to finally beat his previous best, so at least give Knighton another few years to beat his 19.49. Personally, I do believe he will hit the 19.39 or faster this year. Nothing against his coach, but Kersey may be a good fit for his future in sprinting.

His 2023 could go bad for him if he races too much - But if not, he could go towards the sub-10 100m, it would certainly be easy for him. I mean if Matt Bowling can go 9.98, then EK can damn sure go 9.88 and beat Tebogo. His 200m is tough, I don't think he will beat 19.50 in 2023, but he will be all over 19.65 - 19.85 and take any race win that Noah Lyles doesn't want. He will do well if he stays healthy and has superior coaching. Keep in mind that Noah Lyles has been figuring things out very successfully, so Lyles will most likely steal the show as he zones in on upping his game even more. Those two seem to be developing a very interesting rivalry, so I think together they will do amazing things at least in the next 3 years to come!

And people think Boling is good! He needs to compete in the long jump! He’s never going to do anything in the sprints
