I tried frost seeding clover in a new plot in early March 24’ & it worked great. Kept area sprayed late summer/fall last year w/ no vegetation just broadcasted in. SW WI 🦌 !!

I have a quick question but what if I have a pull behind broadcast spreader like one you pull behind a fourwheler will it still work ? Or another question can I run over all of the grass with a cultipacker first then spread the seed second and lastly spray. ( if I can’t use a pull behind spreader to broadcast seed )

Might be worth putting a hybrid willow deer love with clover around it. Love your videos

Looks great! One thing I’ve learned …. Once clover is established and weeds are up and high and you have a rain in the forecast. 1 qt per acre gly. Does an excellent job of killing the canopy of weeds and just stunts the clover momentarily. I do that once a season if needed in late May early June and the clover just takes over!

I discovered that years ago when I tried to kill off one of my clover plots to switch it to Brassica. It killed almost all the weeds and the clover survived and came back good.

Yea you have to use clethodim around 3 weeks after the first rain after seeding and catch the weeds early to suppress them if not they take over. Other than that looks great man. I have two small quarter acres plots I want to start clover perennials in

I generally don’t have many issues with foxtail or other annual grasses. I’ve tried clethodim on canary grass and other established perennial swamp grasses with little success.

Do you like red clover over ladino?
@wisconsinwhitetail9744
@wisconsinwhitetail9744 3 месяца назад
Seems like the red does better in low mow situations. White clovers like ladino need to be mowed more often because they don’t get as thick and tall. This was 1/2 red and 1/2 white.

@@wisconsinwhitetail9744 have you tried chicory on your place yet?
@wisconsinwhitetail9744
@wisconsinwhitetail9744 3 месяца назад
@@aarongoeppner413 I planted a blend of chicory and clover years back but by yr 2 only clover was left. That was a pretty low/ wet spot though. That’s only spot I’ve tried chicory.
