Ana de Armas was only in the movie briefly because her character was added late in production as part of Phoebe Waller-Bridges' rewrite. Impressive that she managed to make such an impression with such limited screentime

There's been very few times I've seen my father cry. This movie was one of them. "We have all the time in the world" was something my late aunt loved to say; sadly cancer took her all too soon. Definitely one of the best Bond films of all time in my opinion; such powerful messages and emotions. Not sure how they're going to top it after this.

To be honest I would be more than happy if they did just stop producing more of these. Bond had his run. Over 50 years. Times have changed, they gave the character an arc and a final resolution. There is no need to reboot this once more, other than Eon's hunger for more money.

I love this movie, it has vibes from the old James Bond movies. Craig retired from Bond, because he was already old and was a little tired of the physical demands of these films, and because he felt that it was a cycle fulfilled in this saga, he started when he was 37, 38 years old with Casino Royale and for this last film was already 52 years old, usually the actors of the Bond saga do not last more than 15 years, since the Bond character has an average age of 40-odd years.
@axr7149
@axr7149 Год назад
It is worth noting that his tenure as Bond is the longest, surpassing the official record held by Roger Moore (not counting Sean Connery’s unofficial NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN). Moore was in 7 Bond films lasting 12 years, while Craig was in 5 in 15 years (Connery officially had 6 in 9 years, with NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN making it 7 films in 21 years (although that movie isn’t counted as an official Bond film)).

If you watch the 1969 Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", there are a lot of homages to that movie in "No Time To Die" - The term "We have all the time in the World" is synonymous with that movie and the theme song over the closing credits of NTTD ("We Have all the Time in the World" by Louis Armstrong) was actually written for, and appeared in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". There is also an homage to the 1987 Bond Movie "The Living Daylights". When Bond goes back to London after Felix dies, Bond collects an old Aston Martin that he had kept in storage- That Aston Martin is the exact same one (inc the licence plate) that Bond drives in 1987's "The Living Daylights"

If you go back right to the beginning of the movie- Madeleine tells Bond she has "Something to tell him" after they get in the car after Bond visits Vesper's grave. She obviously wanted to tell him she was pregnant. Also - when Bond puts Madeleine on the train, you see Madeleine grab her stomach just as the train doors close!

I have to say, I freaking love Daniel Craig as James Bond. I am 33 years now and grew up watching all the Bond movies. Watched everyone. For a time Pierce Brosnan was one of my favorite Bond actors, although his last movie was terrible, espacially with the Madonna sog "Die Another Day" But then came Daniel Craig around 2006. Gosh... Daniel killed it. I love the ton of Craig's Bond movies, that they are so dark, gritty, grounded, character wise also so deep and layered that Bond struggles and has a lot of weaknesses. That they added parcour into the movies and made it for the whole world popular (before that, there was 2 french movies called District B13, which are mainly known in europe at that time) Right after I watched "No Time to Die" and exited the cinema. I felt so empty and was about to cry. Craig's Bond is the best Bond for me. 15 years Daniel Craig as James Bond so unbelievable. Thank you once again for Craig for such an amazing job.

Let's give Addie a round of applause for completing the Daniel Craig James Bond franchise. 👏👏 Excellent reaction. No Time to Die (2021) is my new favorite of the DC James Bond movies and my girlfriend & I enjoyed seeing it in IMAX. My favorite scenes in this one were the opening prologue and the Cuba escape because both scenes were shot with IMAX film cameras, a first for a 007 movie. Bond's death at the end was heartbreak at its finest. BTW, the "Bondmobile" is an Aston Martin DB5.
@alextan1478

*By opening prologue, I mean the flashback with a young Madeleine Swann in the cabin at the frozen lake, the Matera, Italy sequence and the opening credits. And the reason why the music got you choked up in this movie and The Last Samurai (2003) is because that's the power of Hans Zimmer.

Don't get me wrong, Linus Sandgren is a great cinematographer, but I didn't like his work in this movie. The soft lighting, the lens flare, and the blue color grading. Yes, indeed this was Daniel Craig's last ever outing as James Bond 007.. The James Bond franchise will continue in 2025 or 2026. With a new actor set to follow in the footsteps of Connery, Lazenby', Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig. Purely from a Scottish point of view I would love to see Richard Madden take up the Gauntlet, however it would appear that he has more than a few able rivals for the role of 007. Such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson (ATJ), Henry Cavill, Sam Heughan and James Norton. Tom Hiddleston and Tom Hardy have been mentioned, as has Idris Elba and Renee Paige but I can't really see any of those four becoming the next James Bond. One thing is for certain though is that there will be no announcement made on the subject until sometime after Easter 2024. The timescale for the next Bond movie release date is likely to be 2025, 2026 or 2027 at the latest.

I had to slightly chuckle when you said 'I hope this means Bond doesn't die' in regards to this movie at the end of your "Spectre" reaction. 😏 I know a lot of longtime Bond fans were pissed off about him dying in this movie, but I personally didn't have a problem with it... as long as it doesn't become the new normal, where Bond is killed off at the end of every new actor's tenure in the role. I mean, the fact that we're already going to have to reboot the franchise again after just 5 movies is annoying enough. This is the first Bond movie to exceed 2½ hours, thanks mostly to the longest-ever pre-credits sequence. Even I was wondering when the credits would finally come in the first time I saw it. And Madeleine is indeed the first Bond heroine to ever appear in more than 1 movie. As much as I'm wondering who will be the next Bond (I'm personally hoping for a relative unknown this time around, just as Sean Connery and George Lazenby were at the time), I'm probably more curious as to which actors who play Bond's allies will be retained for the next era (Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q, and Rory Kinnear as Tanner; obviously Felix will also be recast, given that he also died here); only Judi Dench as M was retained for the Craig movies from the Brosnan movies. I truly hope you do indeed choose to watch the rest of the Bond movies at some point; no hurry to continue right now. As I've previously suggested, you could take a break and start back at the beginning with the Connery/Lazenby movies (which, apart from "Goldfinger," have a loose through-line), take another break and then watch the Moore movies, and take one more break and finish it all off with the Dalton/Brosnan movies. 🙏
@christianwise637
@christianwise637 Год назад
Ralph Fiennes suggested a while back while presenting an award to the film's producers that he and Naomie Harris would be sticking around to oversee the next Bond's tenure, and Harris said in an interview years ago that she'd like to keep playing Moneypenny for as long as Judi Dench played M (20 years), so they may be staying. Not too sure about Ben Whishaw though, he may only be doing these last three films and then leaving, but I suppose time will tell. The decision to kill off Bond was definitely a ballsy one, and I think it was a risk that paid off, since the ending of this film was really shocking and impactful. That said, I do agree that it shouldn't become the new standard, it'll likely add a bit more tension to each actor's last film since we now know they're willing to go down that route, but I think it will become stale and predictable if they do it every time

Like that Bond car that she didn't even know the name of. The name of the car is the Aston Martin DB5 it was first seen on the 1964 James Bond movie Goldfinger and it was later used in other James Bond movies like Thunderball, GoldenEye, Casino Royale and Skyfall. With that being said, I'd enjoyed no time to die and the ending was a shocker, bold and a fitting end to the Daniel Craig era.

The only requirements are both he needs to be a man and also english, unless they wanna insult and destroy the lore, which is the trend nowadays, so anything is possible.

Probably my fav Bond film. The "franchise" definitely went out on a high note when it comes to this film. At the same time, it was definitely bittersweet, I bawled my eyes out in the cinema. Cried on my second and third viewings. Now I teared up watching this reaction. Pain.

As far as I can remember, there were four Bond cars in this film. The first was, let me just lay out a soft, suavè, warm, chamois leather base to lay these words on, an Aston Martin DB5 GT, 4.0 L, inline 6, 5 speed manual, RWD, 2+2, with, of course, added Q condiments! DB standing for David Brown. The next is the, wait for it, lay out a hot Zephyr Wind to follow this beast, the Aston Martin V8 Saloon. Next iteration is the, throwing down a very woke flag, the DBS, V12 5.2 L Twin Turbo. Next is the race bred Supercar which really does need a Bridge laid down to Asgard to reach, *Valhalla* , this car only has a fleeting glimpse in the film compared to some Astons... To get to the mindset of James Bond and Aston Martin, think English Gentleman, Savile Row Bespoke Suits, Omega Seamaster Divers Watches, Cartier Cufflinks, suave Dior aftershave, English silver cigarette case, sharpe wit and a chivalrous womaniser!

The DBS Superleggera specifically. And they never went into detail about which engine the V8 had, the 403, 430 or 450hp one.

As a Brit 🇬🇧 I was crestfallen Bond died as were most in my group. I accept it works for the story & it's what Craig wanted but you just don't kill James Bond. I still can't get past this ending. I suspect it's partly why Danny Boyle left due to creative differences after being announced as the Director early on. Despite this & my feelings this is a good Bond film to end it on

Loving all the Ana de Armas comments. It is STAGGERING how perfect and incredible she was in this role - the action, the humor, the charisma, it's all there. She should be the next anything and everything in the franchise. That is how you make powerful, intelligent, capable, and beautiful women as lead protagonists. Bravo to her. She obviously did her homework (very quickly), and she crushed it.

It got very mixed reviews from the fandom. I think those more familiar with the Fleming books are less hostile. And the anti-woke types hated it, though I can’t see why - what’s wrong with three interesting female characters? Every rewatching is more rewarding. I liked your sense of a horror dimension you noted at least twice. I picked that up too. At very least, perhaps, a metaphysical dimension….big baddie called Lyutsifer = Lucifer ( the Devil). Surname Safin (= Satan???). Lots of images of descent (into… secret weapon labs, poison garden, modern secular versions of hell…admittedly of our own making) and ascent (into a bright light), and the only person Safin can’t influence and must release is a little child. All other characters have been corrupted by Safin, poor choices, anger, or good intentions…

Broad brush your stroking with. Woke Hollywood is destroying entertainment and good storytelling. So I would definitely class myself as anti woke-Hollywood... Simply changing a sex or race of an established IP is lazy. And all Hollywood seems to want to do is tick boxes. There are plenty of opportunities to write good compelling stories regarding other cultures and sexes, but that seems to much work for Hollywood as they only want to appear to appease the noisy minority. No AntiWoker had a problem with Ripley in Alien, or literally any Denzel Washington movie, or Thelma and Louise, or Sarah Connor. Because those movies told good stories. No Time To Die, isn't a lazy movie however. It has a compelling story with conclusions to interesting character arcs. Ana although being good at what she does still had the vulnerability of nerves in the short screen time she had, ergo she wasn't a Mary Sue (like Rey Palpatine) 007s replaced had flaws in her character also, her insecurity at Bonds reappearance made her feel threatened and she felt the need to stamp her authority, but as she got to know Bond and the Mission which centred around him, she stepped back and supported him. No Time to Die was a great movie, and as this era of Bond (Craig) was unique in that all 5 movies had an overarching linked plot, it gave Daniel Craig a near perfect run as bond. Casino Royale was quality and played true to Flemming's novel, Quantum of Solace (probably the weakest of the 5) still had the world building element that a larger organisation was behind everything. Skyfall is flawless, a near perfect movie. Spectre had the "reintroduction" of Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Christoph Waltz was incredible in the role. And No Time to Die was the conclusion with a bow on it. One thing that doesn't get talked about as much as it should is how Daniel Craig's bond reinvented the franchise, and slowly over the 5 movies gradually introduced all the elements that has been so synonymous with the franchise. We don't see the intro target until the end (not the beginning) of the 2nd movie, Skyfall address the lack of gadgets and flips it by starting to introduce gadgets, and gives us Moneypenny and Q. Aston Martins have played their roles thoroughly with each movie, the end of Denchs M introduces Fiennes M, and with that comes the classic office and leather studded door. These touches are almost a love letter to the entire Bond Franchise. And I'm all here for that.

@@stevearno9726I completely agree with everything you wrote. Really well put. :) I genuinely don't comprehend those who feel so angry toward this fi!m. @@iansmith4023 I'm intrigued as to where and how they are going to take Bond next. As it feels for the first time that the next actor to take the mantle will be the first that'll have to deal with a complete reboot, will there be an entirely new cast? Are they going to go back to telling nonlinear stories or maintain continuity through the movies. If they're going to go for continuity they'll have to tell an entirely different story to Craig's Bond. I'm curious as I feel they could quite easily box themselves into a corner with how Craig's bond had the overarching story and conclusion. And keeping the same cast for M, Q, Moneypenny will feel disingenuous to how No Time To Die left things. I can foresee the next bond recieving the same initial hate that OHMSS received upon release if they are not careful and thorough with how they proceed.
@iansmith4023

@@stevearno9726 Although I love the (now) established cast of regulars in the Craig era, I agree with you - it simply wouldn't feel right to employ the same actors again. I would have no objection to having the next film simply be an old-fashioned standalone Bond movie of the old school; with no reference to recent history,nor any implication of being a reboot. Simply,a straight down the line 007 entry,with lots of perceived 'fan favourite' inclusions. I also feel that we've had enough (at least,for the time being) of Tortured Soul James Bond; perpetually resigning (or so it feels) from the service,and having a fixed pout on his face. Let's have a Bond who enjoys his job, and communicates that enjoyment to the audience. I would only hope that they keep the storyline (as per Fleming's dictum) from going beyond the possible.

Its a ballsy movie,imo. The Craig 'Bond cycle ' works extremely well,when taken as a separate 'alternate Bondverse'. I think Ian Fleming would have enjoyed it very much. He himself killed off Bond in one of the books; but (as with the movie franchise) briught him back by popular request. Now give some of the other Bond movies a go :)

This is the one Craig film that’s overrated in my opinion, the significance helps (being Craig’s last) but I didn’t like the other characters, the villain was awful, the fact that one of the worst bond villains ever gets the chance to kill Bond isn’t a good look, they should’ve made this villain the strongest but Le Chiffre, Silva, Blofeld were all better villains in the Craig era, only Dominic Green in Quantum is worse than Safin which isn’t tough.

I think it’s a little different than the others. There are more callbacks to the old movies, more relationships. I’m a little disappointed that they underused Rami but, to me, he wasn’t the main villain, neither did he kill Bond. MI6 did. Which I thought was a great idea. Storywise (/regarding Bond action) it’s not the best but I’m a sucker for interpersonal relationships, so I was otherwise satisfied 😄

My cousin and his wife were visiting Italy in 2019... And were in the town square where some of the movie was being filmed... It was where James Bond's Aston Martin fired the Gatling Guns out of the headlights... If i remember correctly... They had three identical Aston Martins in various conditions... This was due to the damage that was shown in the movie... Like when it seemed like the cars bullet proof windows were sprayed with bullets... It was in fact white paint that an artist had made to look like the Aston Martins cracked bullet riddled windows... This would obviously save time when shooting the various scenes... By having these three identical Aston Martins on set... They took some great photos and video while they were there... It's such a shame that Daniel Craig decided to step down from playing the role of James Bond... I just hope the next person to fill the role... Is just as good as he was.
