Yeah frost is wrong about fresh off the boat. Its a modern 1900s era phrase not older. Do you really think Hollywood would name a 2015 series fresh off the boat if it could be associated with what he claims.?

I don't think "fresh off the boat" is commonly associated with slavery. A quick Google search, as well as my own opinion, associates it more with immigration. That said, it often has negative connotations, suggesting that somebody hasn't assimilated with the culture while implying that they should have. Even if it isn't talking about slavery, it could still be offensive, especially if used on others.

Honestly the thing i hate about Sozu is that it makes multiple other relics useless. I always thought it should just reduce your maximum potion slots by 3. That way at least if you get potion belt it's not a wasted relic. Sozu making Potion Belt, Cauldron, Toy Ornithopter, Sacred Bark, AND Alchemize all totally unusable is such a harsh restriction. I'm only ever taking it if i absolutely desperately need energy and my other options are like, Tiny House and Choker.

It's so wierd knowing that a very large portion of the country doesn't pronounce the "U" in aunt. Most of my extended family is from middle America and I've lived in the northeast my whole life.

If you are at a Gelateria always get pistachio it’s amazing. If it’s ice cream then it’s not that great. Also I was a bit surprised by Frost banning someone for a joke that rubbish, but at the same time this harshness is probably what allowed frost to keep a healthy community for many years. I do feel a little bad for the guy getting permanently banned instead of a time out, but it was a pretty shitty joke. In terms of linguistics I think if a phrase outgrows its origins it’s best not to reconnect it to them. Just as idiots defend slurs by arguing that they originally meant “noble” or whatever I think it’s a little counterproductive to go after neutral expressions for their history. An example of this is “no can do” originating as a sinophobic expression making fun of Chinese immigrants but now it’s just a quirky expression and it’s better to keep it as such
