My favourite performance from hyunjin, this screams hyunjin, from the choreo, this contemporary style mixed with the popping and dancing on beat, to the scenery, the cinematography and artistry of this whole video suits him so well, and it is not hard to see why, considering he was involved in the whole concept for this, not only he made the choreo, but he also chose the outfit, the location, everything. This was his project coming out from the hiatus and showing us who he is and how much he’s grown as a dancer and as an artist overall 🤍
The rose petals falling were not scripted and they just happened and the director of the video liked it and kept the take in. I think it adds a perfect touch to an already perfect performance.
Came back from hiatus that he was basically forced to take. The beginning is him as the perfect prince they want him to be (industry) and he's slowly coming apart. He wanted to display a bit of demonic/psychotic with his smile. Showing that he is what he is and to accept him that he won't hide it or shy away. He was expressing his pain in their too from the hiatus. When he grabs the rose his leg comes out and slides for that note and his hands are on beat to the light beat in the back. Every small movement has a purpose or beat it is bringing to life.
Hyunjin was on hiatus because of ill-intentioned people who said that he was bullied at school but it wasn't true. At that time he dedicated himself to training and showing that he is not just a pretty face (supposedly that was enough for him according to some), even though he did not know how to dance he worked hard and perfected himself, he studied contemporary dance, he ended up being one of the best dancers in the industry. My bias is talented without a doubt, he is a painter, photographer, composer, rapper, model and cooks very well too hahaha.
One of my favorite things about Hyunjin's dancing is that his body movements perfectly balance the masculine and feminine. He's amazingly powerful and deeply sensuous. And he is an unparalleled MASTER at working the camera with his incredible facial expressions and super intense eye contact. That, alone, has a real effect on me when I'm watching him perform. I feel this dance embodies everything I love about his dancing. Power, beauty, sensuality, masculinity, femininity, emotion.... This man is seriously talented, and he blows my mind every time
Play with fire choreography by hyunjin will be forever my no.1 fav legendary masterpiece performance by him and in general in kpop and even in world There's nothing can top this for me even tho aotm is god too. But this is everything. A prince a godess dancing is so dreamy everything is 100000 perfect than dream.

You should watch the behind the scenes of his dances. I'm a big fan of dancers especially Hyunjin and Momo from Twice. I think their video performances are so so good but it hits different if the videos are from the behind the scenes. The rawness and you can really see the dances without any cut.

It's also a way to dispell nerves during a performance as well. Releases emotional energy and relaxes negative tension in a beneficial way so you can build the good tension in your performance. As long as it fits the theme/imagery of the dance it's good thing

I might be reaching, but in the beginning, his hair is fixed, and his clothes are all put together and he’s polished, and as the song goes on as he “plays with fire” he becomes more undone in his clothes and his hair. I always thought that was cool storytelling.
