Listening to RED LIGHT without thinking weird stuff was challenging 😂😂

Do not take this song literally… it is not about what you may think at first. The chains represent how they both feel trapped by their obsession/ addiction which happens to be perfectionism… Chan to his music and Hyunjin to his dance

The other translation for this is "compulsion". They left it to be loosely interpreted but it is about being so consumed/obsessed with something that it is toxic. The chains and ropes depict it pulling them back as they struggle to get away, but they don't always struggle sometimes they just give in to it. The lyrics talk about how they know it's bad but they just can't stop/ don't really want to. For them it's about their need to progress more, work harder, do better, achieve more to the point that it is almost compulsive to them and the need to recognize that and address it. Hyunjin made "taste" with "red lights" in mind and as a slight continuation with a bit of a different concept. Its a danceracha piece so it's more dance centered.

Ahahaha, congratulations on getting to know this masterpiece, advise you to watch it in silence without company, it's worth it! But seriously, these two wrote this song, shot awesome music video, and tell us about addiction in very sexy way, yes😊

They're looking at themselves in the mirrors at the end after all of this to hint to us that it was a battle with their own selves, I think. The restrictions and obsession respresented by the chains and stuff were happening inside themselves like they're doing it to themselves. It's all about their obsession with their work (producing and dancing) in which they're kind of trapped, but it is because they love what they do, hence the line "make you feel my love". Even if this may be the original meaning, Bang Chan likes to let people and STAYs make their own interpretation, and said that he enjoys getting to know our point of view.

Red Lights talks about your obsession with something ~ that could literally be with a person or an object or whatever u want it to be [its up to you]. But the literal meaning behind the lyrics [according to them], is their obsession with their work. even though they love what they do, it sometimes feel like they are obsessed, that their work has this tight grip around them. Chan and Hyunjin wanted to work on a more "mature" theme for Red Lights as a mirror image or alter-ego.
