Liverpool have rejected a transfer bid that symbolises just how serious Arne Slot is in preserving the squad that Klopp built. Mark Goldbridge has the latest football transfer news.
I admire Liverpools approach here. Endo was a warrior last season. They never spend stupid money on fees or wages but will pay a high fee if it's a player they really want. Their players are never overpaid. It makes for a great ethos.
@@SimonFlynn-un1urour highest payed player is salah on 300k which we had to brake our pay system which isn’t bad in comparison to what some club pay average players
@@RFC87in the title race until the last 5 games…. Won a trophy on top of that. Have amazing youth coming through. And Liverpool have been able to hold onto all our players after klopp left, clearly we’re on the brink of collapse 😂
@CheddyFella added no one and completely fell off a cliff at the end of last season. You can't stand still in football because you'll go backwards. If you don't sign some players you ain't doing nothing.
@@RFC87 you don’t have to spend money every season to compete. As I said we have a lot of youth players coming through. Basically beat Chelsea with a youth team in the final….
Endo was worth every penny, and there is no real guarantee we will get a good defensive midfielder this market. Quality squad player who is not overpriced is hard to find these days. Makes perfect sense
@ANDWHAT991 Is there many better than an experienced international captain who can play DM and CB if required, too? One whom doesn't expect to start every game? Nope. Next summer is a question maybe, but not now.
@@mvudo8832Tell us the same thing when we are 6 th whait this reminds me when we sold Lovren never replaced him and all the fsg supporters were saying we don’t need new cb
@@kyriakosgeorgiou3735 lol dont bring your "Top Red" card on me. Im the first to despise yankee owners, and yesss new signings WOULD BE IDEAL, but that doesnt change the fact that we have a really good player on Stefan. Still, its dissapointing we are not going after Ugarte or Zubamendi, they would be a good pick for that double pivot. But I must insist. Lets give the boy a chance, and this is the perfect season for that considering its a "Re build season", isnt it?
As a lfc fans, it's a bit worrying not to made any attempt till now but i do understand that a new manager needs to assess its team also many players are not here. You want a good reading of the team and players then invest and make the necessary changes.
Just incase you missed the news, Slot is the manager of LFC. Where the hell is mourinho coming into it. We all seen what alot of yous know about football during the euros. Absolutely nothing and played like a team who knew they are not the best. England won a world cup with up and under tactics in 66 and still play similar to this day. So basically shut the hell up cause there's more football knowledge in San Marino.
Honestly the best take I’ve seen on the Liverpool situation to date. How can a United fan see what’s happening but our own fans can’t. We’re known for being smart in transfer windows and this is smart
There's also a brilliant academy with top talent coming through as well. We've just got back Sepp from the Bundesliga where he had an outstanding season and Bajetic is fit again
I think Endo is a extremely talented versatile player who is very good on the ball but also he puts in a shift i think yeah we don’t need to sell and Slot thinks we have a good team at the moment and we don’t need to buy
So insightful mark bravo, as a Liverpool supporter of 45 years im tired of the spoilt brat syndrome from a a large portion of our fans gagging for us to turn into Chelsea is exhausting .
its honestly so annoying now. Previously i understood as we needed a midfield rebuild in 2022 but now it makes sense to hold off on signings until slot gets a good look at all the players yet everyones having a bloody meltdown lol
@@GS-to7cjlol open your eyes 👀 he is a head coach he is not in charge of who comes in and out, now we’re being fed he needs to look at the players before deciding anything lol 😂
@@GS-to7cjthat’s because he’ll only have his full squad for a week before the first game of the season. End of the day, out of the big 6 we spend the least. So you’re not going to compete for every trophy when you don’t invest like the other big clubs do. We earn similar to what Utd do but spend vastly different
I could be wrong, but Liverpool has never been a rich club have they? Like even when kenny was playing the didnt break transfer records getting players in did they?
Endo is the club's only true experienced defensive midfielder. And Liverpool had a nightmare trying to fill that position (Caicedo and the player from Southampton both went to Chelsea)
I could win the lottery jackpot two draws running. Will I? No. Will FSG spend a significant amount of money on a few good - top quality players? Almost certainly not
I think we, unfortunately will sell Endo if we reach 15-20m, he's been a cult hero for us, as for the lack of signings, I say patience, August is when we do business
I think that the primary reason why Endonis kept because he is experienced, tough, more traditional player, and a great captain for his national team, so he would be in a group of several players that can and would set/keep the principals for the young players in the team.
I’d guess the bid was rejected because he’s a good player, and worth far more to Liverpool than £12-16m. Regarding Slot and transfers, Liverpool are a very, very good side, he’d be crazy to spend money without seeing the full squad in training first, especially given he apparently has a similar style and setup to Klopp. Unless Slot is spectacularly bad like Hogdson was, I’ll start judging him come the end of the season.
As a Liverpool fan, I value Endo at around 35-million. But I think they should keep they should wait to see who fits better in the new coach's system and in January window, they can start deciding who goes and who comes in.
Endo was the unsung hero of last season, i think he grew on a lot of our fans. I think it'll be a big season for us and he will be an intricate part of it
A possible third reason Liverpool wants to keep Endo for the moment is they feel he may help getting Takefusa Kubo, who Liverpool have been linked to .
This is exactly why they went for slot and not Amorim or alonso as they’d have had to change to 5 at a back meaning all of the work of last summer would be undone
We would lose out letting him go! Great player who gives his all and happy to be on the bench! Who would we change him with that you can guarantee would get the same kind of player for the money!
Don't see why we would sell Endo, signed him fairly cheap, experienced and solid squad depth player that does the job even if we were to go out and sign another player in that position + we will have Bajcetic back from injury for this season and that is like a new signing in itself. People will have forgotten how crazy good Bajcetic was before his injury for his age and how crazy good he can become. Depth is good, if we sell Endo, we only have Bajcetic that "should" be playing that role. It doesn't make sense to sell
@@jaysmith2858I completely disagree, brilliant stable player, always fought whenever he was on the pitch. We wouldn’t have won the carabao cup without him and he absolutely bossed Kdb and Rodri when we played city
@@jaysmith2858 He started slow at the beginning, thats it! The rest is age, you can't expect him to be on all game and have peak performance all games and yet he has done great in that exact situation.
Liverpool have made it clear that no one is going or coming in until the end of the America tour. There has also been a bid for Van den berg which has also been knocked back.
@@paulporteous4190 he's the coach of liverpool, he doesn't have the same control as a manager when it comes to signing new players and selling players. That's a completely different part of Liverpool scouting directors. Trust me he's the coach of Liverpool and there's a team of directors who mange the squad
@@manoxipo3756 that's very true, FSG will be looking to invest In golf very soon, so I'm afraid as a Liverpool fan we won't see the money to sign top talented players. We will be expected to make do with the younger players. It's nearly August and still no new signings.
Alright Mr. G. Just to say I first came across you a couple of years ago when I saw a vid of utd fans infuriated at Liverpool constantly humiliating them. However, I've since been subscribed to That's Football and I absolutely love the way you analyse the game in general.....you've shown what a genuine footy fan you are, regardless of the team you support. You call things as they are and I find myself agreeing with you on most of the vids you make....and that's from a Liverpool fan (surely that can't be right!!)😂 Anyway, keep up the good work and I look forward to more vids. All the best.
Liverpool fan. Endo wasn’t a big signing when we brought him in, was more we just needed a DM and he was available, but he had an incredible season. I’d maybe be okay with selling him (definitely wouldn’t want to) but would have to be much more than 12m.
Managers of Dutch clubs are never given money. They're expected to coach what they have, within their clubs. That's why Yanited went for ten Hag, under Avram. Maybe that's partly, or mainly, why LFC ❤ are employing a Dutch manager? Personally very excited with what I see from Arnè
@@janniknielsen9292 exactly proves the point they aren't used to money. Not even used to buying in players at all. I totally forgot his record for United with transfers in, thanks mate. 👍
LFC fan here, I am calm and will be very surprise if LFC don’t make at least one big signing out of nowhere before end of transfer window. Do you remember $100 mil for Casideo 24 hour before window shuts? LFC has the money.
Endo was arguably Liverpool's best player for 80% of ladt season. Arguably the best midfielder im the league for 80% of the seaskn. Seriously underrated.
Endo was excellent last year. If he doesn't fit into the Slot system of play, so be it, but I'd keep him unless they can get some sort of outstanding replacement (not obvious who that would be, given that Slot plays a double midfielder pivot).
ETH didn't inherit the worst ever United side, he created it, last season - but they overperformed more then any other team in the league. Looking at data, Man Utd should've finished last season in 15th place.
Endo is a fantastic squad player, he was never meant to be our main CDM but it turned out that he played mostly in that role last season so Macca can be more attacking. I'm hoping Arne Slot buys a main CDM, If he doesn't buy any players then I'll trust what he is doing what ever that is.
Mate i dont think its that symbolic or anything to look into, endo is their only number 6 in the squad (mac allister is debatable) they wouldnt sell endo unless they knew they had other 6s lined up, especially for a bid of 12m
Nobody wants Endo to go… quality player and someone we’ll need this year. He was excellent last season, especially coming into a new league and getting used to the pace of the league.
You’d reject the bid because he did a great job last season, hes reliable rarely injured and we’re already lacking on number 6’s. It’d be ridiculous to sell him for 0 profit
12M we paid 16M last season not sure anyone can flush 4M down the drain? And he played really well it's not like he flopped!! This video has had zero thought process....
Each year of his contract they can remove a portion of his cost of the top line expense. It's called amortization. That's how finance works. Educate yourself before talking nonsense
This is the answer; he's our only natural 6. A lot of people "can" play there, but you don't build a squad around playing people out of position as their core responsibility.
They won't. FSG will make do with a cheap, aging, slow, bargain basement DM that simply isn't good enough for a team that wants to challenge for major trophies every year.
Not everything is about net spending. FSG does everything from the stadium to the staff and management on an elite level. Yes, they don't spend, which is frustrating. However, you can't discredit every other aspect of running a football club.
Why would they sell endo? This is not worth a video but okay, you could talk about Man City signing savio from troyes, which is also owned by city, that would get you some views 😂
@@harrygonn934you're supposedly not allowed to sign players between 2 teams owned by the same ownership group which is why United couldn't sign Todibo.
@@YippeeMK The reason why Utd couldn't is because they play in the same tournament. They originally couldn't participate in same tournament either, due to conflict of interests, but they somehow dropped that part. Troyes play in Lique 2.
@@YippeeMK no do some research. You can sign players from clubs in the same ownership as long as they aren't in the same competition. City signed savio from troyes who are in ligue 2 and not in the ucl. United and nice are both in uel so the todibo deal isn't allowed
I’m glad he gave the players a chance to impress. Shows integrity to the players. LFC also have 15+ exceptional youth talents, at a variety of ages, that are far better than anything I’ve seen before. Their progress would be hindered by buying for the sake of it. He will make signings but I’m glad he’s taken this approach tbh.
We're waiting after pre season to make seasons so I'm not worried just yet of us not making any signings slot needs to address the squad to see what he's working with, Great work mark.
Selling Endo without a replacement would've been plain stupid. Re Slot, all positive so far. He seems to have a calm head on his shoulders. 4th spot and no trophies would be a very good first season, all things considered. YNWA \0/
