Some spring skiing in Delirium Dive at Sunshine Village. I finally got this line ticked off although the very variable snow made parts of it a little tricky.
Thanks and yeah i was really nervous - I had dislocated my shoulder a few weeks before and was worried it was going to pop out again on the flat landing.
I did that exact drop without slowing down in 1999 without knowing the magnitude of the drop. Luckily there was 35 cm of fresh powder in the landing. I couldn't slow down after the landing until i reached the bottom. Felt like I was riding at 100km/h. Almost shit my pants.
DD is not that difficult, especially if you ski at a pace you are comfortable with. If you can ski the trees on the left or right side of the Goats eye chair lift, you can ski DD.
im going to have to try that cliff after seeing this done i have one qustion how was the landing did ur knees hurt after or ankles? and what was the snow like?
Oh dude, that's brutal, sorry to hear. Even on a good snow year you have to take off quite a bit higher than you think. From below it looks like you can take off lower and snipe the tranny but every time I've hit it I've had to air from higher and land on a flatter bit below the tranny.
Yikes, good to know! When I got to it, there was a bit of a spike down the centre of the launch I had to clear that I was not ready to attempt haha. Was hoping to slide off it kinda like in this video. I’ll definitely be trying again in future seasons, hoping with more snow
Mikey Hall, I inadvertently deleted my reply to you. You are entirely right. I hope you have decades skiing ahead of you, and that you continue to post these videos to your family and friends. You have entirely changed my attitude to this wonderful sport. This is my 55th season, may be my last, and you have made me realise that being too critical of myself and others just makes me an old goof.
