Matt (Director and Model) was against all the cuts. And not enough spandex.
This is a serious line and has had a few fatalities. Do not take this line lightly.

Awesome Video! I skied the 3/4 twice in the 90s, and the video does not do the steepness justice! I sure wish that we had digital videos and GoPros back in my day!

Thanks Bob! I have been back 3 times. Its probably the most fun thing I have ever skied. Thanks taking the time to watch the video. Alot of work goes into these so I really appreciate when people take time out of their day to view them!

Good tune, good edit. I like the factoids. Should it be noted that a skier died on this line this year..? One doesn't want to encourage those who might not be ready for it. (Ps. I'm not saying said unfortunately chap wasn't ready or prepared). A line of consequence.
@TisTheSkison
@TisTheSkison 3 года назад
That’s a fair comment. I did note that the line is a “no fall zone which should not be taken lightly” in the video, which I do think is quite obvious if you start hiking up it. but maybe I can add something more in the description. I appreciate your comment. It’s a very serious line not to be taken lightly. Thanks for taking your time to comment and watch the video!

Any idea the slope angle of 3/4 !? Just skied it but it didn’t seem as steep as expected… snow was absolutely trash lol
@TisTheSkison
@TisTheSkison 2 года назад
I have skied it 3x and if you drop in on the skiers right it is quite steep I would bet around 55 (it felt steeper than Aemmers at the top), but it mellows quite quickly in all areas. The skiers left side isn’t too bad at all. I have skied it 3x and danger factor really seems to change with different snow conditions. Congrats on the line! and if conditions were trash, then that is truly an accomplishment to ski it in bad conditions! Do you have any other lines on your list this spring?

Sweet video!!! love the edits, some constructive words: the music is a tad loud in comparison to the rest of the audio when you are listening with earbuds. Great content tho

Rad line and video! What time of yea (month) did you ski it in the video?
@TisTheSkison
@TisTheSkison 3 года назад
I skied it in both June and July. June was pretty powdery. July was alot more slushy. You want to be uptop early (7 or 8 am), as the mountain likes to drop rocks on you when the sun hits it. But I think its pretty important to have good ski quality on the way down. So depending on the temperature it might be worth waiting a few hours up there until she softens up. Dont ski it if its a sheet of ice, as a guy died last year when that happened. If thats the case play around up top until she softens up and then it will ski fantastic!

@@TisTheSkison awesome, thanks for the beta! Sounds like climb early, ski late(r) for better + safer descent conditions. Did any of your technical gear get used or just crampons and axes on the ascent?
@TisTheSkison
@TisTheSkison 3 года назад
@@mikedepaoligmail All i would recommend is crampons and ice axes. If you want to explore the upper glacier or stay at Neil Colgan Hut (which is at the top of 3/4 probably 700m away on a ledge) then you likely should bring rope (which is why we had it) (If you are going to do 3/4 its totally worth it to say one night at Neil Colgan as its the best cabin in the world!) I would highly recommend 2 ice axes though, but my friends were able to do it with just 1 axe. I just like the extra stability of 2. If you want to see what the skiing looks like above 3/4 check out my other video about the first decent of covid couloir. Its really cool terrain up there. And if possible I would be stoked if you would subscribe to my channel :)

Somebody died skiing this one I seem to recall.
@TisTheSkison
@TisTheSkison 2 года назад
That’s correct. I believe it was a few years ago, it’s a serious line, and should only be attempted in perfect conditions.
