Romano always flirts with disaster. He often somehow gets out of it but not this time.

It's time to give Garcia a shot as closer

This is the life of a closer. Its all or nothing with them, Romano might be one of the best, but he still gives up the long ball too often for my tastes.

Garcia right now is lights out closer , Romano is always iffy , hes great when we have 5 runs ahead. , but one run leads , good luck

Watch very closely at the walk off run, there is a fan with his hands out and the ball makes contact with his fingers and he reacts and pulls his hand back. Whats the rule on fan interference? I thought that is what they were looking at at the end of the game. Was a decent game either way.

Admittedly I didn't watch the game because I was working but tbf all closers blow games sometimes. Even like, amongst the best seasons by a closer of all time they don't convert all of their saves. Romano has been shakier this year but he was also looking better until today. I think you need to stick with him for a little while yet. A couple more bad outings and maybe.

Tough loss for sure, but some good signs. Kikuchi pitched well. He is becoming an anchor of this rotation. Yimi Garcia is for real. I hope he keeps it up. Zack Pop is beginning to show that he can reliably eat up middle innings. Of course, the major weakness of this team remains the offence. When they did get men on base they couldn't get that key hit to create some distance between them and Baltimore on the scoreboard. Also, why was Springer so timid in that flair to right field? He should have taken control and called off Guerrero.

Taking Kukuchi out wasn’t the right move. If Pop did poorly, you would have hated the move. Regardless of the outcome, it wasn’t the right move. Nor is having Romano be the closer. Romano isn’t a closer. He’s never been a closer. His defense bails him out. Springer isn’t a leadoff hitter. Kiermaier isn’t a starter. While I’m ranting, Vladdy needs a tighter helmet. John Schneider is allergic to making good decisions and changing things. We can blame Atkins and the players all we want, but when we have poor coaching in that dugout, making poor decisions, well, it’s no surprise the Jays aren’t doing well.

I'm glad they lost. If they swept the Orioles, we would have had to endure the Toronto media telling us 'the team just turned their season around!' which would've been BS. At least this way we were spared.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ROMANO IS NOT AS GOOD AS WE GIVE HIM CREDIT FOR. Most of times when he goes into games he screws around, he is not a 1-2-3 out type of closer and that’s what we need. Hitters are hitting him too easily, he needs to drive fear in the heart of hitters and make them look stupid. When he misses he gets hurt, too much sliders, use up that fastball and paint the corners. Many of the saves he has was just luck, he’s he’s done some good stuff and I’ll give him that. But he needs that killer mentality like the closer in Texas/Houston/New York. I just sit at the edge of my seat when Romano’s in the game, he’s too unpredictable.

This happens every time with Romano. He puts the runner on gives up a home run if he has a three run lead coming in they win by one.

The season is pretty much over...they're not moving up in the standings and changes will happen...hopefully

You score 2 runs and expect to win, you basically have such a slim margin for error that everything needs to be perfect.

This team is not a contender and its obvious. There are enough assets that can be competitive but not enough to be world series contenders. Fire Atkins now and bring in a new management team with experience so they can properly assess the team before the deadline. Atkins had his chance at a rebuild and has failed. If the ownership feels its time to blow up this team and start again, it needs to happen with a different front office.

"They're turning the corner." Sure they are, They have the second worst offense (judged by runs scored) in all of MLB. Has there ever been a worse offense in the whole history of the franchise?

Is Justin Turner 0 for his last 30 or so? It seems like his average dropped from 350 to 250 in a big hurry. I like Turner, but he sure flies out a lot.
