Dear Andy Park (Audio Engineer): Not only is the performance of the whole band incredible, but also the audio engineering is fantastic. I even prefer the mix of this session over the album mix... i bow to you!
Kexp shows are always so amazingly done. I also appreciate everyone involved in music, so seconded. Also, tiny desk stuff is generally phenomenal as well.
KEXP full performance on shuffle has been so good to me in my morning garden maintenance. I played drums for about 10 years and haven't played in about 10 years. I'm going to get an electric drum set in a few weeks and get back to banging on things. There's nothing like being apart of good jams and I miss the exercise so I've been trying to get back to listening again. Great set, first experience with this guy/group.
I remember Noah from 10 years ago when he was so under the radar and people were literally stealing his music and putting it under their name. I still listen to "Fire", "Burning Fences" and "Winter" all of the time. I am so glad to see him getting some well deserved recognition. His evolution as an artist has been profoundly beautiful.
Me too! I used to share Gundersen music everywhere from when he was with the fam and onward. He has that unexplainable essence that, combined with luck and hard work - makes someone a star. I don't care what 'type' of music it is. I am so glad that the fam is with him through this. They are so extraordinarily talented. I feel that they help him stay balanced.
Sorry I keep commenting, but watching this I’m getting goosebumps and a slight tear in the eye, this is truly brilliant music and the band are so, so good.
At first I was very skeptical, slightly afraid, to hear his new songs, because even though I fully understand and support his desire to change, I fell in love with the "folkish" Noah and I thought I wouldn't have appreciated his new path and somehow ruined my enjoyment of his songs. I'm very happy to discover I was wrong! This album is very good, Noah and the band did an amazing job. Everybody change, even artists, and since music is the way they have to express themselves, it must change with them too. Good luck for the future and come to Italy someday :) Thanks KEXP, superb as always.
I knew Noah's music maybe six years ago. It's wonderfull listen the change of an artist and still fall in love with the music. I think it's possible only with very talented people, like Noah. Thanks for keeping playing!
Eric McGarrh Noah is beginning to establish himself atm. He’s been famous a long time. But not like this.. i found him on sons of anarchy. That show gave him a lot of fans.
I'm so happy Noah came back for this performance. He's such a talent and KEXP is the perfect place for him. I love how Noah's albums tend to blend from song to song. A good album speak magnitudes for an artist. Also, Johnny is clearly trying to make a statement with this shirtless performance. Edt: Heavy Metals is just gorgeous.
This just made my day! I've been obsessed with Noah ever since I first heard one of his songs on Sons of Anarchy 6(?) years ago. The new album is a grower but possibly the best thing he's ever done. And that live band is amazing! Hopefully after a few missed opportunities, I'll finally see him play live on his next European tour.
I had the chance to see him back in October 2017.. can't wait to see him again on the 13 of February in Athens GA.. calling in that day to see a great performance!!!
Jonathan West do it! Noah Gundersen has a varied and delightful catalogue. His lyrical prowess is something to be reckoned with. I highly recommend his song "Cigarettes." It is a great example of a controlling metaphor. Sorry for the rant, but Noah Gundersen is one of my all time favorites.
I only had heard some of his old stuff and I love it.. before I went to see him in concert I hadn't had a chance to hear his new album , since I played it everyday.. nice to hear that he is gaining new fans everyday
This has to be one of GREATEST sessions I've seen! I sadly didn't have a chance to catch Noah on the initial full band tour, but did see him on Leg #2, in an acoustic set! Pure emotion in its' best form: music. And no, I'm no bias because we have the same name ;)
Noah and Abby sound like they have been singing together their whole lives or something. Thanks, guys. This is awesome. JUST now realized how much white noise there is behind all this music. Really really well done.
Just been shown this guy, unreal. Just something about it that’s different from what you hear from this genre. Gorgeous full sound, brilliant songs. So excited to listen to this guy more, he/they deserve big things but I kinda want him/them to stay my little secret ;)
Oh, Noah... I'm sad I never got to meet you while you were on tour, but Abby and Jonny are excellent ambassadors. I'm so grateful for all of you! You, too, KEXP. Wildly grateful!
So lovely ... seen him live three times already ... met him ... missed both in Illinois last year and no tour dates anywhere this year???? I am freaking out!!!
She has always been my favorite, really complementing her brothers crazy skills with a certain strength in her softness. Love to both of them, and the others.
