Coming from a Jamaican, this video fully explains why he has the title of fastest man in the world, currently. He's actually consistent. Seeing his race in the 100m final ls this year, I could see that he's built for 200m the way he pulls forward the last few metres
@@gordellis5849that's not what they meant. They're Jamaican and are simply acknowledging his class, in spite of whatever bias they may have for their own heroes. They aren't robbing anything from Noah, not giving him his flowers.
@@odinakaugwu6671 thank you. Exactly what I am saying. Matter of fact, this rivalry is healthy for the sport. It's just like back in Asafa's and Tyson's time. Neck and neck speed to push for more record breaking speeds
Noah is definitely the favorite. All pressure to redeem himself from the last 200m olympic finals where he was the world champion prior to the Olympics then finished third in the Olympic final.
yep , she is the clear favorite .....for Gold . Alfred doesn't have the back half to match her long legs power down the last 40 meters !! Its hers to loose ....
After seeing coverage of Noah's PB yesterday, he's gonna go full-send and not let up, hoping he improves his own national record. I don't see anyone beating him if he has the same energy as before.
Honestly the 200m is Noah's race to lose. I don't really see anyone beating him if he perform as we'd expect. If he has a bad day or if he really gets a bad start, then maybe someone like Bednarek or Tebogo could take advantage, but under normal conditions he's winning for sure.
tbh in a 200 even when he has a lapse in execution (bend at oly trials final) he still ran a 19.5, he was in 19.4 shape that day imo. So now I just don’t see anyone being in the same zipcode
It's interesting how much is made of a runner's absolute best time as if it's predictive of performance. Example: Yohan Blake: 19.26 Noah Lyles: 19.31 Blake is better, right? 0.05 better, to be exact, but hang on... Yohan Blake's 4th-best time: 19.78 Noah Lyles's 25th-best time: 19.78 Noah basically wins every race against Blake in his prime EXCEPT the ONE TIME he ran 19.26. It's not all about records.
I'd like to be with you on this one as I'm a huge Lyles fan, but I think it's important to remember that Blake basically ran two years at the top level before getting seriously injured and never coming back from it (2011-2012)
Been saying Noah is gonna do the 100-200 meter double at Paris since 2021 and I certainly ain't changing my mind now that he's completed the harder part of that double, Lyles all the way and USA for the 4x1, Noah coming home from France with 3 golds mark my words.
Very promising to finally see him actually shut it down and truly conserve. He’s going to be dangerous if he remains this responsible en route to the final.
“I’m thinking sub 19.3… it’s gonna be FIRE”🔥 Love that! I had to watch the video twice to make sure that’s what you said! I’d love to see a time that low. He can do it. It depends on fatigue and just perfect execution. Can’t wait!
With a +2.0 m/s wind and a 0.11s reaction time, given Lyles’s improvement in his 60m and 100m, he could actually run a sub 19.2. Yes, sounds crazy, but if the stars align, it will happen. And under those conditions Tebogo will run a 19.4 for silver. Without the wind boost and a fast reaction time, I think Lyles will win with a 19.4 and Tebogo silver with a 19.5.
Bolt - 9.58/19.19 Lyles 100m SB when he ran 19.31 was 9.95 though his PB a couple years before that year was 9.86. I think it’s fascinating that Lyle’s’ 100m is 0.28 seconds slower than Bolt’s 100m yet only 0.12 away from the 200m world record. If Lyles runs low 9.7, then it’s a wrap for him to break the 200m world record. If he runs sub 9.7, then it should be a guarantee he breaks the 200m world record. Can he break the 200m world record with a PB of 9.79? Who knows. He was only 0.12 away from it when he was running 9.95 that year with his 19.31. He truly is an amazing 200m runner based off of his 100m PB
I see what you’re saying - but the 100m and 200m are completely different events. It’s the bend that is so hard to run correctly that makes 19.19 so tough. Usain came out of the bend at 9.92 and then finished in 9.27. Lyles isn’t close to the opening 9.92 of Bolts (10.07). He’s gotta come out smoking in the first part but still I don’t think he can get 19.19. I’m thinking his peak is around Yohan’s 19.26
@@yawos9024 exactly. He’s going to trade off a faster opening 100 with a bit slower final 100. I don’t think he can get 19.19 but I think he can dip into the high 19.2X’s
I think the current field of young sprinters are genuinely brilliant. Very entertaining and seriously quick. Dunno why but I followed Knighton for a few years now and as a junior he’s unrivalled really. Not quite converted that form at elite senior level. If he gets close to his potential and Kenny and Tobogo run quick we could well see the top 3 under 19.5 which is remarkable really! Can’t wait for the final!
An absolute best case scenario. Best conditions, best reaction time and best start. I give Noah Lyles 19.16 for the win. Realistically I see him going 19.30-19.40. I'm hoping Noah can start like he did in 2022 and not like Budapest where I believe he could've gone 19.4 low.
Crazy years back Noah was not a contender for the 100m he never used to pull it off then he did it at worlds and now the Olympics 🔥🔥.Can’t wait to see him perform well in the 200m hope he gets the triple
If you paid attention to the 100m breakdown with the speeds and the who was decelerating at what point in the race, Lyles was the fastest top end speed in the field AND he was the only one not decelerating after 60m. He's getting ready to do something spectacular in the 200m (as long as he didn't burn himself out with that incredible effort in the 100m). I think there is no question that assuming conditions are good, he'll be below 19.50. The rest just depends on how he's feeling that day. But he is going to win his double and no one is even close.
"I guess we are going to have to keep racing until we see a more definitive outcome.' Noah Lyles answer to those claiming Ties, pushing Subplots, coining Narratives, and hyping things up like Madison Avenue Master Minds.
you mean Jamaican men, right?I am looking for the youtube post where i suggested, amidst their seriously convinced preictions when Kishane ran that world lead in Jamaica, that we should gather on the same post after the 100m final. The amount of smack that was being said was colossal
I don't understand this reporter 0:53 "since the 2021 season, Noah Lyles has not lost a single 200m then goes on to say since his final loss in the 200 which took place at the 2021 tokyo olympic finals. 1:13
One can assume he's within 19.50's shape, without question. Probably low to mid 19.40's. It would have to be a perfect race for him to beat his PB. Granted, Noah certainly is one to deliver when it counts.
Noah’s start is a little below average for a world class 100m runner, but he can overcome it with superior top end speed. He isn’t hurt nearly as much in the 200 by his start and benefits more from having the world’s best top end.
I will never underestimate Lyles again. Did he say what he whispered into Keshains ear at the end the 100 final?? I swear he told him he caught him, such an iconic moment
Noah Lyles 19.18s I’ve said it before I’ll say it again - he’s now got a sub 9.8s 100m - also a sub 9.2s closing 100 of a 200m If he throws down an opening 100 of 9.97s followed by a 9.21s close.. Come on Noah!
The 100m meter race had only one person surprised.....Oblique Seville. I saw him completely giving up and exclaiming at the end as he saw himself at the last spot after all the hype
As fun as it would be to see Noah break the world record, everything would have to be absolutely perfect. I think he will pr, but I'm thinking 19.22-19.25. He will definitely win the double, but like the hundred we will see the fastest overall race ever. I think we'll have 6 people running sub 20 as well as someone else going sub 19.35.
Everyone should put a thousand dollars on Noah to win the 200m, because he is a lock. If I could afford it I would. There has never been a bigger lock to win than Noah winning the 200m
Nostradamus: "With the naked eye.". Jamaica are you hearing that? It's on and it's still on. Bring yours cuz we're bringing ours. Thank you for being hellfied talkers and even bolder walkers. The Olympics gods could not have give the US more perfect rivals. Keep taking. Keep walking!
@rocky Tebogo has 300m wr and is serious threat to lyles. Knighton has also had some flukey times were he just goes off. Seems like the other runners are always running in there top gears. Tebogo is the only guy i can see busting usains 200 wr he just has to have the rite dynamics
Lyles burned A LOT of matches wining gold in the 100. Won’t surprise me if he’s fatigued in the 200. Knighton will be completely fresh, he could challenge Lyles and Kenny
Not really. Noah has more sub-19.7 races than anyone in history. Don't just focus on the top time someone has run: look at their top 10-15. Blake, who sure did run 19.26, only broke 19.7 three times... 9 times out of 10, Lyles beats him. Consistency matters. But who are the 3-5 guys beating him in the Bolt era? If you take their 25 best times, Noah wins 23 races against Blake and 21 against Bolt. Yup, you read that right. Blake had 2 really great times and Bolt had 4. Go down the list of their top 25 and Noah's consistency wins, over and over and over.
