A pb is huge for noah, considering he has been running close to his pb consistently. One thing about him, when you can count on him to run his best or near his best , so as long as his best improves that’s huge for him. There have been people who ran 9.75 in recent years and yet they havnt beaten noah consistently. Not sure why suddenly everyone thinks you are only as good as your personal best.

That 200m was an interesting race. First, I am super impressed with that Texas Training group. There were some things I noticed tho. It seems like Dina and Gabby were testing race strategies. I mean Dina EXPLODED that first 100 and Gabby did the opposite. After viewing a few times it looked quite intentional. Like they were trying them on for size. Dina made up the stagger on Gabby like she was standing still, but couldn't hold it. Gabby on the other hand was strolling the first 100. Julian is getting stronger and looks like she can make the stand, but she looked surprised when Gabby caught her from behind. Shocked even. This is the kinda of racing I have been missing this season. Both effort and strategy on full display.

Anecdotally, it has been declared that competitive pressure is magnified for Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville in the quest to contend for an Olympic medal. But, analytic results show that competitive pressure is at a modest 38% (± 1.27%) for Thompson and 36% (± 1.25%) for Seville in magnitude.¹'² Given the calibrated pressure of 38% and 36% respectively for Thompson and Seville, coupled with scales in sprint times of other contenders in the 100-meter race, there is a 33% (± 1.22%) probability³ of Thompson and 31% (± 1.20%) probability⁴ of Seville attaining a first-place finish at the Olympics. Comparable to Thompson's and Seville's magnitude of pressure and attendant probability of first-place finish, there is--with pressure calibrated at 37%⁵ (± 1.26%)--a 32% (± 1.21%) probability⁶ of Noah Lyle's completing the 100-meter sprint in first place. ___NB_____________ ¹38% ≈ 0.3822745876 = [(½μ’)((√3p(p - ((√3/3)(√3p))] = (½μ’)(p³) = [½(√((1 + 1.03)(1 + 1.01)) - 1)] × [((1 - (8⁵)1/e⁸)/5!))³], where "μ’" and "p" respectively refer to the average of acceleration and kinetic energy and the probability of at least third-place finish: p = (((1 - ((8⁵)1/e⁸))/5!))) = 0.908396 ²36% ≈ 0.3612852610 = ((½μ’)p³) = [½ (√((1 + 1.02)(1 + 0.92))) - 1)] × (0.908396)³))) ³33% ≈ 0.3269571178 = [(0.38)((1 - ((8⁷)1/e⁸))/7!))) ⁴31% ≈ 0.3097488484 = [(0.36)((1 - ((8⁷)1/e⁸)/7!)))] ⁵37% ≈ 0.3728075402 = ((½μ’)p³) = [½((√){1 + 1.03)(1 + 0.96)) - 1))] × (0.908396³) ⁶32% ≈ 0.3183529831 = [(0.37)((1 - ((8⁷)1)1/e⁸)/7!))]

Sorry, T, I have to disagree with you about Noah. We have to remember not only was this into a headwind, but this is also in cold London, where fast times are simply not produced in the 60/70 degree temperatures on that day. Noah’s effort was a 9.79 in conversion with 0 wind, and such a fast time in that cold environment is very fast. I think he will definitely be down to at least mid-9.7 at the games, and possibly even 9.6 shape (with good winds, etc.). Gabby looked insane in that final 50. I’m use to seeing her close like a freight train, but there was really no excuse for Gabby to catch up from that far back…it absolutely did not even look possible. Just, WOW!

No 9.7 from Lyles but still if you do a rough wind conversion on Kishanes 9.77 at +0.9 it’s 9.81 at 0 wind Noah’s 9.81 at -0.03 is 9.80 at 0 wind. So wind converted is roughly… Lyles 9.80 Kishane 9.81 Yes I know Kishane looked much easier running his easing off slightly at the end so has the most potential for a 9.7 low time this year, but he has to be able to travel to Europe and run it there in the Olympic final. People dismiss wind calculations if you tell them to factor them into every clock time. In 2023, I told everyone that Shericka would not beat Sha'Carri at the WC even though she had clocked 10.65 at the Jamaican trials. People said I was crazy, but the reality is that Shericka's time had a huge tailwind of +1.0. You always need to adjust for zero wind to make a fair comparison. Omanyala ran 9.79 but with a huge tailwind of +1.5 and at very high altitude. So, do you all believe he will be on the podium? Here are calculations comparing Kishane and Lyles. The only reason Kishane might win is if his 9.77 was achieved without running flat-out, we just don't know. Kishane Thompson: 9.77 with +0.9 wind = 9.81 Noah Lyles: 9.81 with -0.3 wind = 9.79

Jamaica Fails? Jamaica has the World Lead but the men still can't touch a world championship medal in the 100m since 2017, when the the greatest of all time was already on his way to retirement. I'm American but Bolt brought me into this sport and as intense as the USA - JAM rivalry has always been, ive never seen this much salt. Imagine discrediting someone's fresh PB because they didn't run faster than somebody else's PB. There are people who have ran faster than Kishane that still are not beating lyles consistently in his weaker race. Its pretty sad that a nation that lives and breathes this sport still struggle with making sense of of wind readings the value of consistency. Maybe its time to focus on encouraging your men instead of putting all this pressure on them as if they have dominated the sport since bolt's retirement. I'm sure every single one (beside's Y blake) would trade their PB for Noah's career.

@nadinecopeland5016 Can't you see Noah Lyles is running faster than he has ever run the 100m? He can run even faster and break the AR of 9.69 with ease if he gets his start sorted out. The good thing is that he knows exactly what he needs to work on in the 100m.

Fails...really? Noah is a battle tested warrior who brings homes medals. We'll see if your boy can live up to the hype under maximum pressure and expectations. I hope he does because it would be good for the sport. But be realistic and stop shooting disrespectful smoke at the champ. Your boy will have to come take it and it won't be easy. Noah's walkout theme song at the Olympic's should be JadaKiss's "The Champ is Here!".
