I have never played this song, but it is sure making me fell nostalgic to being in high school marching band. It has been 20 years since those days. This is so good.
In my own opinion, the beginning trumpet solo could add more stops between the tercet, and the speed of part2 "the parade of animal"could be played faster since its theme are joy and the vivacity of the animals. But in general, the orchestra did a really good job! They express the emotions perfectly. A great performance!😊
Ah, i love this piece... we played some years ago and it's still one of my all time favorites. Can't wait for practicing "Saga Candida" from Appermont next saison!
I'm playing this with my Orchestra for a Norwegian championship in Janitsjar band. I play Tuba while my Aunt plays clarinett. And a good friend of mine plays the oboe there. The storm is my fav because I can actually play.
@Fuenteclarinet i dont know what the instrument's called, but its a long, soft and bendy tube ( most are made from plastic ) and when you swing it, it creates a howling sound like the wind(: almost most of the time, more than one is used to create a more prominent effect^^
Well mostly they used "the wind' instrument/machine by the percussion.. but for most band they just made a cup with their hand and just blow it, coz it's stated in the conductor score..
Playing things slow is actually very challenging. You gotta hold yourself back from playing it faster. Which not many are able to do tbh. I'd pay some respect to this orchestra rather than complaining about BPM.
You should have recorded a video and uploaded it on RU-vid cos only looking at the title "Noah's Ark" and hear you guys blowing the air out making it really boring and I have to turn it off and click on something more interesting!
