He just said a week ago that all unvaccinated people should be locked up and he doesn't care about how they would get their food!! Is that your hero? More like leftist/old fart/lunatic who is still holding on to the same BS which has kept him alive till now.
“Neoliberal democracy. Instead of citizens, it produces consumers. Instead of communities, it produces shopping malls. The net result is an atomized society of disengaged individuals who feel demoralized and socially powerless. In sum, neoliberalism is the immediate and foremost enemy of genuine participatory democracy, not just in the United States but across the planet, and will be for the foreseeable future.” ― Noam Chomsky
"Demoralized" is the word---when a so-called society beats you spiritually to a pulp every day and you can no longer feel or care about almost anything. I see this in every piece of trash and garbage people just toss onto the roadside---"might as well wreck everything in this despicable place." Almost hard to believe we can be so turned around against ourselves and the planet, and for the sake of what? A "healthy" fiscal quarter?
Where's my shopping mall? Lots of empty shopping malls and vacant strip malls across the country, so we are one lonely society. Hey, if you order from Amazon, Besos will launch himself into space. Where's the boss, anyway?
Will someone go change his fire alarm battery, please. We don't want him climbing a ladder and falling now do we? Anyway...Thanks for sharing your wisdom and knowlege with us, Professor Chomsky. I'm a long time fan.
@@olliemoore11 I spent half an hour checking my fire alarms, laptop and other devices around my home convinced that one of them must have a flat battery before I realised what was happening. I need this type of thoughtful foresight and extrapolation in my life. It helps me in my day to day decision making in a myriad of situations. We've lost the ability to consume multiple sources of information and individually access that information. It does appear that we may destroy our species before any other intelligent live ever knew we existed. Like a falling star.
What a load of BS. This dude is leftist ideologue who is throwing "moral this, immoral that" and thinks he is convincing somebody... maybe the brain-dead.
@@Rubemac Because you are praising this dude as some sort of a spiritual leader while he is obviously on the left... yeah call me crazy for making such an assumption. What's wrong with you? Aren't you paying attention to what you're saying or it's just a matter of saying stuff?
The man is a deep thinker. Most public pendants can’t extrapolate past their nose. I listen to people on the left and right and applaud deep Analytical thinking no matter which “side” it comes from.
It's been goin on all f'n year. Neither he or his wife can hear it. Either that or Noam can't hear it and she doesn't know what it is. FML. She probably thinks it's on the computer or something.
The truth is frightening. The truth is refreshing. I was recently thinking about the British Empire and how we have not only replaced them, but created an unimaginably abominable war machine. Technology is headed in the wrong direction. Thank you, Professor Chomsky.
The truth is we now can unite & Groove an One entrained human entity!! With enough of us Grooving united, for a long 'nuff period of time... miraculous evolution?
As an Australian I was thrilled to have Prof Chomsky quote Paul Keating and Brian Toohey, and at the same time I am deeply embarrassed by our current Federal government's appalling policies on climate change and the nuclear submarine deal with the US. COP26 is g0ing to be shameful for Australia.
Chomsky is advocating for the removal of the unvaxxed from society and to let them starve. He’s hardly an intellectual powerhouse; more like a murderous old geriatric.
Is he the same """humanitarian""" that recently stated he believes unvaccinated people should be rounded up, imprisoned, and starved to death? THAT HUMANITARIAN??? HE'S A LEFTIST AUTHORITARIAN AND HE'S AN EVIL HUMAN BEING IF THAT'S IN HIS HEART. GO TO HELL CHOMSKY, AND IF YOU AGREE WITH HIM, YOU CAN GO TO HELL TOO.

It is hard and inevitably inaccurate to truly measure the influence of this man on so many millions across the globe.Once he leaves us it will not be possible to replace him as the likes of him appear but rarely if at all as mankind continues in its seemingly endless destruction of all that makes life possible on the only planet we can call home.

I’ve always been a fan of Noam Chomsky. Read all his books. However I find it hard to divorce his current view of the decline of the world with his own declining years. Vaccine Mandates or vaccine discrimination (which he endorses) is a massive and unreconcilable view with his long standing views. It’s far from his life long doctrine and his general narrative is one that equates world demise with his own. I’m sorry to have to write this.
I'm sorry too but I have to agree with your words. He's contradicting here everything that he said in the past about controlling society. I was left speechless.
Chomsky has lost all proportion and reason with regards to the "pandemic". The England and Wales standardised mortality rate for 2020 shows it to be below that of 2008 and every year prior to 2008(from UK government Office For National Statistics). Fear has gripped and rendered some people incapable of rationality this past 21 months.
Not sure if the numbers are even right but comparing the amount of death without using a ratio was a mistake if the intent was to compare the mortality.
I put my hearties salute to globally intellectual professor Mr Noam chomskey From Butwal multiple college department of ENGLISH EDUCATION FACULTY OF NEPAL..
Correction needed. Fermi wasn’t an astrophysicist. He is more properly described as a nuclear physicist. He built the first nuclear reactor at U Chicago, and so was one of the developers of the fission bomb.
And all those challenges, and responsibility on the shoulders of young generation, who have, actually no real political power in any of the world superpowers... That's fucking wrong!
most of the young generation you're mentioning don't read a book a year. Their ideals have been set exactly by the same elite who have created this hell.
@@hammedmousavi2297 surely, but it was always like that, still they got Internet from which can learn stuff, despite all, their responsibility only grew to monstrous level, that no generation ever faced. And maybe ever will. An it's not their fault
@@hammedmousavi2297 youth today are more informed than previous generations. I'll push books on them, too, but they are vastly more informed on a general level than other previous generations, mine included.
Every generation fux over the next generation. Our elders did it to us. Theirs did it to them. The real challenge is not to turn into a authoritarian state because of it. My generation survived and rejected tyranny. Will the next?
I cannot think of someone who has failed more deeply as a public educator than this man. Noam Chomskey is single handedly responsible for the fact that modern people have ZERO interest, and are bored to tears, and dismissive of what is probably the most important topic in human history; linguistics. I don’t know how this man sleeps at night. Unforgivable disgrace.
My comment is removed. Noem, this is exactly what I mean. Unhealthy, and you being part of censorship is the most disappointing part pf it all because I really trusted your opinion and have done for years. Again, I'm lost.
How can you respect him when he is advocating for interment camps & starving vaccine sceptics to death which I'd like to add are crimes against humanity?
@@tomjohn8733 Nice deflection, not answering my point whatsoever but fixating on my user name. My proof is Chomsky's own words that came out of his mouth in a recent interview. Is that enough for you? Many, many people who are actually decent are appalled by what he said, shame you're not one of them! Advocating starving people to death is evil & yes vaccine sceptics are people even though Chomsky seems to think they're scum & deserve to be starved if they don't comply.
@@maz3215 you sound like a person who voted for Trump, who denies the science viewing climate change as a hoax, or just someone who has contempt for others, like a guy who doesn’t understand that some people, can be positive or A-symptomatic with covid with mild symptoms and can spread it to others who may not have a good immune system and might die, the reason we get vaccinated is to protect others as well as to minimize the symptoms if we come into contact with some political idiot who for whatever reason, political or other, refuses to get vaccinated, but all your interested in is the idle comments of a frustrated person who has all his life tried to make the world a better place while idiot like you only live to point out s9me idle remark…no one is going to put stupid people like you in any interment camp, but you probably don’t see any problem putting immigrates in some camp…republicans today are largely self serving hypercritical morons, like Manchin….…

BTW I'm not an American, I'm from the UK & you slag off Republicans saying they are self serving giving Manchin as an example when he is in actual fact a Democrat. BTW being a-symptomatic is utter BS & there is absolutely no evidence to support it anywhere, it's said & repeated enough by officials, peudo scientists with vested interests etc & people believe it. What is happening now worldwide is tyrannical & the intention is to bring in the great reset. (see world economic forum for starters) True science hears both sides & debates & a consensus is reached. This is not the case here you are only hearing one side, many, many top scientists, doctors etc are saying differently & their voices are being silenced by mainsteam. Jobs are threatened etc. Top people at FDA for eg also hold top positions at Pfizer. Vested interest anyone? One of the FDA advisory members when asked why he voted in favor of the recommendation to give 5 to 12 years old the shot said “we’re never going to learn about how safe the vaccine is until we start giving it.” Does that sound safe to you? Sound like experimentation to me. When it comes to immunity 91 studies reached a consensus recently that natural immunity is better than vaccine but mainsteam haven't reported it. The shot is causing lots of severe adverse reactions, maiming people & death etc. I know from personal experience with family members & friends seriously ill since taking the shot etc. My friend knows a lady who's 12 year old died after taking it & she couldn't live with the guilt & killed herself. I could go into great depth about the whole issue, I've only skimmed the surface.
X-Files The real Mission Impossible Humanity needs to fill a giant black hole in space called ignorance (greed) with light (love)...so that it's darkness (misery, murder, mass shootings, suicides, war, etc.) goes away and it's heavy gravitational pull stops sucking the joy out of life and destroying the planet. We face some major obstacles though. 1) Light and truth (love) cause vampires (greed) great pain and suffering. That's why the words compassion, understanding, society (socialism), community (communism), "care for all" and "green new deal" cause the capitalist counting corpses that rule US such misery. 2) Like bats that fly around in the darkness of caves...vampires (greed) are blind and cannot see the ignorance of transforming heaven (peace) into hell (war). The capitalist counting corpses are also blind and cannot see the ignorance of destroying the planet. 3) The evangelical monsters are extremely "desperate" to control a darkship called the Whitehouse. Because working in the dark to suck the joy out of life and destroy the planet is the only way that the loveless, lifeless parasites can survive and thrive. It's also how the hostile alien vampires (greed) keep their human capital (cattle) corralled. Unlike earthling poets, artists, musicians, mystics, human beings and creators of joy...the capitalist counting corpses that rule US can't create harmony (real intelligence) because vampires (greed) are ignorant (dead). Vampires (greed) who suck the joy out of life have joined the zombies who eat the futures of their children. Zombie Apocalypse is here and happening now. Question. Why are the evangelical counting corpses using the bible as a springboard to perform somersaults to do the exact opposite of "love their neighbors" and "treat others like they want to be treated"? Answer. This is sick. Because these simple concepts are too far out there to grasp for vampires and zombies.
I understand why you are saying those things. It is what you think about the current situation. We must also acknowledge that an analyst of your sort is not competent about every subject. I hope that the truth will be revealed when the political dome cracks and the real light enters this world.

chomsky is not influential, but he deserves respect for his persistent public observation that the usa 'has no clothes' in many areas, foreign and domestic. so far as i can tell, usa has been drifting 'right' throughout his [and my] life. that is contrary evidence of influence. not conclusive, i admit, the place might be even worse, were it not for his admonishment. neither dr chomsky, nor any other public figure, has figured out that the constitution establishes an elective oligarchy which is captive to wealth, a functional plutocracy. consequently, discussion about 'what to do?' must begin with revolution. the transfer of power from the rich to the people is a revolution. it would probably involve violence. so real change will only come from those who have nothing to lose, led by those too angry to fear failure. no one on this site is in either category.
Wow you are truly blistering with your commentary. If only such wisdom as 'global challenges have always existed' was known before Vladan came along with his scintillating insights. We probably wouldn't be in this mess if he was here earlier to warn us all.
Mr. Chomsky, the majority of people who produce food are farmers / Trump supporters. If you remove them from society, who will feed you? Are you entitled to food, apriori?
Sorry but its not looking good. Eisenhower and I told you years ago and lucky most people listening at least were polite enough to maybe be enlightened or entertained. None the less you had enough? I could fix all of it. Well mostly all of it. 1974 all I wanted to do was help. We'd definitely definitely yea definitely be better off than this shit show circus sending in the clowns ever since Truman. Audit them all past present and future and all I need is 5 minutes with the books. And just using 10% of my brain. Oh do you want to know? Or do I have to dig up my uncle? @@hgkwbsx7 how do do we fix climate change? Nuclear maybe. Chomsky makes broad sweeping world ending claims like he has some amazing knowledge of 'something'.... yes dumb ass, the world is warming and what? Make everyone poor so we can care less? Think about it.
It’s really sad that Prof. Chomsky, who has lived in a country that has given him so much adoration and such a privileged life holds so much contempt toward the US. And as much as the Prof. seems to see China as a victim of the US… I doubt that if he was a citizen of China and criticized China the way he criticizes the US… he would be able to keep his prestigious job , or be allowed to write books criticizing China. The system of capitalism has been around for thousands of years. Every King and Pharaoh dealt with merchants. The only difference is the US system allowed everyone to be a capitalist…. not just a few to serve the overlords. The Prof. sees that as a defective system, even though that system has lifted the entire world’s standard of living for many decades. And considering it’s such a small country compared to the rest of the world…. that’s a pretty good legacy. It will be corruption, as usual, that brings down the system…. not capitalism… and that happens in every system where there are humans.
'The system of capitalism has been around for thousands of years.' I think you should probably read some books first before commenting that one of the most cited people in human history doesn't know what they're talking about.
