Lars Peter Hansen, Nobel Prize in Economics and professor at the University of Chicago, has been named HEC Paris Honoris Causa Professor. Before being presented with the award, Professor Hansen addressed students and faculty on ‘Consequences of uncertainty’. He noted: “Prof. Hansen said: "Uncertainty must be at the forefront of economic analysis, by increasing exposure to-and enhancing decision-maker concerns about-uncertainty, while imposing frictions in financial markets and 'shocks' to those frictions."
