Happy Summer! In this episode we visit Noble Cemetery which now falls into my top 5 list of cemeteries to visit in Oregon.
I discovered a plethora of amazing stories in this tucked away cemetery. One of our early stops is the headstone of a 1/2 native American woman named Catherine Kitty Pambrun. If my source readings are correct Catherine arrived into the Pacific Northwest in 1826. We'll also tell the story of her husband Pierre Pamburn who was kind of a big deal back then.
I often hear the saying "she's a little firecracker". Well lets meet an atomic bomb named Huldah Myers who lived quite the eventful life and what a story she has to tell.....hence the video title name. Buckle up.
We will stop by a civil war veteran who served in the famous 9th New York Calvary Regiment.
I highly recommend visiting this cemetery on a sunny day if you need to get away from the busy world. The gate is usually open at the bottom of the road but was locked this day for some reason. However, walking up the road to the cemetery is pretty enjoyable.
FYI AWESOME memorial discovered during the tour.

Thank you so much for this video. Henry Noble was my great-great grandfather who came over on a wagon train. My mother told me, though I don’t know how true it was that he had 20 children some who died on the Oregon Trail. Unfortunately, Meek was supposed to be an experienced wagon trail leader got lost. He led people around through a desert where some of Henry’s children died. According to the book, “The Terrible Trail”, Henry was going to hang Meek. I guess Henry didn’t follow through on his threat because Meek survived. Like you said, Henry homesteaded on a large piece of land and donated a portion to the cemetery. He also gave a chunk of property to my great grandfather who sold it. With the money, my great grandfather, James Noble, bought a farm on Bald Peak where my son and his wife live to this day.

Thanks for sharing your family history! Interesting stories surrounding Meek for sure...Noble was one of my favorite trips, hidden gem out in the country with amazing stories.

Oh this is good fun! I just came across your channel. I have been photographing pioneer cemeteries in Washington for the past year or so. You mention Sprague, and I'd heartily recommend their Lake View Cemetery. Also, a bit closer to you, Turner Cemetery and Peola Cemetery (Columbia and Garfield Counties). Adams County's Michigan Prairie Cemetery is also wonderful. They're all a bit rugged with very little to no upkeep, but worth it.

Welcome to the channel! I focus on history and such, tell some awesome stories of the past here. I will certainly check out the cemeteries you recommended, always looking for new places to visit.
