It's so rare to find a blind playthrough of these games where the person has good video/audio quality and actually pays attention to what's going on. Thank you so much for giving Halo a try, and thank you for uploading it for our viewing pleasure!
Thanks very much Unordinal!! :) I try very hard to do a good job when 'experiencing' a game... I'm not the best at showcasing gameplay and often make mistakes, but I always try to understand WHY a game has such a high standing in gaming history... so being aware of how the story plays out, the characters and motivations involved are very important to me. MCC removes the credits from each game for the sake of replayability. It's a controversial aspect, and I wish they kept them in as toggleable. That's why the cutscene with the Pillar of Autumn flying to the ring is so abruptly cut short. The credits began there in the original game, but were cut out in MCC. The Lone Wolf (survive) mission was a post-credits scene.
Oh really? Yeah they should have left them in... the people involved need their dues, they did an awesome job! I don't stop recording until after the credits have finished anyway, so I would have cut straight back into Noble Six fighting... but yeah, they shouldn't have cut them out. :)
@@RockyRockhead It's a little less confusing in the other games, since they tend to lead straight from one cutscene to the next with both concluding naturally, but it's still a loss overall. Especially with credits as beautiful as Halo 2 and ODST being lost.
@@gumfireparalax1371 I just feel like the ending ALWAYS comes with a credits sequence... just make them skippable rather than remove them entirely.... oh well, it is what it is... atleast I get to play the games. :)
@@gumfireparalax1371 (years late, but): the original Halo Reach also had a heartfelt farewell message from bungie in the Legendary Mode Autumn in space scene. The message got removed in MCC due to legal shit and microsoft. I'd recommend seeing it at least.
I still can't get over how good the music in the Halo series is. Its been almost 2 decades, and I would still rank the music up there with some of the best motion pictures...
Carter to noble on the first episode: "That lone wolf stuff stays behind!" Noble 6 when he is the last man standing: lone wolf mission. Pretty ironic huh? Also in the extended lore it turns out that the time between the pillar of autum leaving and you fighting that last battle was actually a long fuckin time. Pay attention to the dates shown and you'll see what i mean. That absolute badass motherfucker survived that long on his own and finally got cornered to make one final stand, then you see his helmet which was foreshadowed from the very first cutscene of the game.
I think the devs wanted to establish from the staert that noble six was a great soldier that could handle himself but this game was about the TEAM's story. :) I didn't notice that the dates were so different but that's super cool that he lasted ages rather than a few moments after... he was indeed a badass motherfucker! :D
Bit of a lore drop but the reason Halsey says "your body and armour belong to Reach" and Jorge also says "Reach has been good to me" is because its basically humanities military stronghold and where they created the Spartan programme, so its as much a home to them as Earth is to us
I think that although there were a few bizarre choices made with Halo: Combat Evolved’s remaster, the new graphics are still worth experiencing. Perhaps you can go back and forth between them. Plus, you won’t be able to search for the terminals that explain the lore without turning on the new graphics. They are indicated by a blinking red light. In Halo 2, there are few problems with the remaster other than the opening cutscene.
I'll experiment with it and see which one I prefer and then stick to it... it's best that we all have a cohesive experience rather than a series where its original graphics 40% of the time. xD
So a few closure for the characters for this game. (Don't worry it's not spoilers for other games). Jun survived and later became the trainer for a new generation of spartan. Halsey survived and got off reach where she run into even more shenanigans (have to read the books for this).
I enjoyed this last episode Rocky! It's so much fun to see how you are experiencing this game so different then I am! It is very interesting. I just record my first Halo CE episode and no spoilers but you are going to love it!
You're better at FPS games than I am John, so you get through it much smoother. hahaha I'm looking forward to my Halo CE experience... starting tomorrow! :D
Halo: Reach is one of my favorite games of all-time, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching your playthrough. It was great to see you experience things for the first time and to see your spontaneous reactions as the story plays out. I ofen found myself saying "No, not that gun!" with some of your in-game pickups lol, but enjoyed watching you learn as the game went on. Thanks for allowing me to experience the game for the first time again through your eyes.

@@RockyRockhead I've been a Halo fan since childhood. In fact halo CE was the first video game I ever played. So seeing someone experience the franchise I love so much is honestly great. So I want to say thank you.
Halo are some of my teenage years favorites, I really like your video reactions, and to answer your question about the lone wolf mission, yes, enemies keep spawning until noble six dies. There is a guy who survived for more than 24 hours (he cheated)
Awesome stuff Rocky. This is by far my favorite playthrough of Reach on YT. You picked up a lot of the smaller details most people miss, and for this being a first time playthrough I have to say you did excellent. I couldn't imagine how bad I was on my first playthrough, I remember dying a lot more than you did.
Whatever helmet you choose for your Noble Six is the helmet that appears here and at the beginning. Most people do Let's Plays of Halo: CE with the classic graphics and sound effects. Although I've been a Halo fan since 2002, and thus the classic graphics and sounds are nostalgic, I actually prefer the anniversary remaster myself. You can actually switch between them on the fly, though. Excellent work getting through the campaign! I take it you liked the default look of Noble Six?
I kept him the same way because I didn't know that I could customize him until a few episodes ago, so I kept him the same for consistency. :) I'll look at both to see which one I like... I have been told that the original visuals and sounds have more atmosphere but that could be nostalgia talking, but I have no idea... I'll experiment. :D Thanks for your support, Tim!
@@RockyRockhead Its down to personal preference. Remastered has better lighting, wall textures etc. but they seem to have altered some areas for no particular reason. For example, in one mission you land on what is referred to as a "desert plateau", but in remastered graphics it looks like a jungle.... you get the idea why opinions are divided.

@@flowerpower003 The Devoted Sentries are canon, but now that I think about it they mostly operated under the Long Night of Solace. It is more likely that it was a different branch ordered by Thel to hunt spartans but it's too perfect to not be them.
