@@kevinprzy4539 Jorge unarmored height was as tall as sam's armored. even Fred is almost 3 inches shorter with armor. Im not enough of a halo nerd to know how strong they are so its possible. The thing with sam is he was 14 when he died so if he lived as long as the other he could of been one of ,if not, the tallest spartan.
in the book, when john first put on the suit he saluted to mendez. he saluted so hard that he knocked himself unconcious through the helmet. without a helmet he would have karate chopped his own head off. he quickly adapted to mjolnir afterwards. on their way to the suit facility, the spartans received mental training through their brain implant, so they would instantly know how to operate mjolnir.
I like this because it shows how desperate humanity was at first contact. In the games you feel like your losing but you have magic tech that always seems to help you get your way, like cortana or blind luck. This shows that at the start they barely even had a chance, mostly coming down to John's uncanny luck. You will find out why he has luck like this, if you keep laying the games ;)
22:06 that mark is the blue team eagle. Blue team currently in lore consist of the Master Chief, Fred-104, Linda-057, and Kelly-087. Also the fight between John and the ODSTs actually went down were he took them all down in a single punch in 3 seconds as said in the book, also ONI sent them to test out the Spartans augmentations.
I really like the concept of just how messed up the origins of the spartans is. It goes to show that, the good guys, aren't always good people. even if they have the good intentions and their decisions have literally been the thing that saves humanity. It still required them to make decisions that are objectively horrible and despisable. It gives that really "hard truth" kind of feel to it. Showing that even the 'right' decision isn't an easy or obvious one to make.
You call Halsey evil but I would like to point out - ONI would’ve taken the kids, gone through the program even without her. Every time Halsey wanted to step away she was reminded of that fact and that ONI would simply replace her if she left - likely with someone who didn’t care about the kids at all and who was far less competent. It was a no win situation. If she stayed she’d be complicit in running the program and responsible for the human cost of it all. But if she left? Far more of the Spartans likely would’ve died even before augmentation and those would have been deaths she could have prevented. Regarding the deaths during augmentation - they were not abandoned. Many of those caskets were empty, with Halsey preserving the bodies in cryo. She spent decades afterwards working to find methods of repairing the damage done, actually saving many of them from death - at least two fireteams we know of would go on to fight as Spartans later in the war. As for the Insurrection - it wasn’t just simple rebellion, it had long since escalated into terrorism. At least one nuclear device we know of was detonated in an urban center, and they’d been at it for years before the Spartan II program was started. Best results of social simulations put the following conflict at a 30 year war, minimum - worst case scenario was a second round of dark ages.
Yeah one thing that was never mentioned is the desperation of humanity, esp ONI The rebellion was like extremists at a group small scaled then slowly brainwashed more and more into their group. Taking advantage of any weakness in their heart to do terrorism. And the important bit wasn't mentioned is that their control grew so large, that it's not even funny anymore, it literally a war and essentially an extermination to a massacre. Humanity would've basically self destructed... And Humanity military was getting hampered non stop that they were already weak before the Covenant came in and that still didn't stop when the Covenant Human war started. Across multiple colonies It's like Twitter or occult groups that actually managed terrorist and to terrorise non stop throughout multiple countries...
And ONI will do anything it takes. They are basically black ops, any means even dirty means Things too immoral or illegal. They would've done anything without Halsey. Halsey coming in saved the children more than if ONI proceeded without her. Her intellectual ability was a key role. Halsey care for them and kept a borderline of not risking any bonding emotion. Her remembering all of their names proves that and they are a special place in her heart.. Even in Reach, she refer all other noble team as noble number. Only Jorge was called as Jorge
The scene with the ODSTs played out a bit differently in the book. The bit with the locking pin is mostly the same, but it actually was set up as a test for the new Spartans IIs. An officer actually came in and ordered John and the ODSTs into a boxing ring, it wasn't as spontaneous as depicted here. And he did indeed brutally kill some of them (implied to be accidentally though). It explains the longstanding resentment from ODSTs towards Spartan IIs.
Just imagin what hell the clones went through. They were grown in a matter of weeks and endured great growth pain, rapidly developing cancers and other illnesses that overwhelmed their bodys after they replaced the spartan children. A concerned family they recognized but didn't know. They had memories implanted, but none with emotional context. They felt scared and practically alone as they were dying.
Have you reacted to foward unto dawn and its blocked or was that just a reference. Oh by the way, the part where you mentioned how you thought halsey had her own spartan armour because of reach is most likely because of a misinterpretation of a line halsey says to jorge during a cutscene int he mission 'oni sword base':"Jorge, what have you done to my armour". With the information you now have, you can probably decipher what she actually meant. I:E what have you done to my design, not my personal armour.
if it makes it any easy for you, Mendez actually confronted Dr.Halsey about the experimentation s in one of the shield worlds and told Halsey the kidnapping and experimenting on kids was completely unnecessary......oh....and also he confronted Halsey about leaving Halsey's daughter to her father so she could concentrate on work....in case you're curious Halsey's daughter was Miranda Keys......left to be taken care by her father Captain Keys......all this happens in one of the novels.....I downloaded it but can't remember which one......still remains one of the best plot twists for me.....
15:55 Jorge from halo reach cameo also seeing as you seem to like This a lot you might want to watch the halo reach trailers which expand on spartan 3s a little bit
I really love the Spartan armour design in the Fall of Reach (Animated), it combines Halo Wars, Chest armour, Shoulder guard, lower body part armour pieces; and Halo 4's, back boosters and gauntlet armour design. Just add the web gear and accessories from Halo reach and that just makes it more detailed in my opinion.
This is only half the book “Halo: The Fall of Reach. I recommend reading it. The rest is that “big scale conflict” you mention at the end, which is very appreciated if you want to know how the war has been going for humanity up until the fall or reach, which is one loss after another to be honest. Really good stuff.
that's actually not really why, Jorge is just a really tall bastard. Master Chief is 7' 2" whereas Jorge is 7' 4". for reference the rest of noble team are 6' 9" - 6' 10" so Spartan IIIs aren't that much shorter than the average Spartan II
I remember reading the fall of reach book by Eric nylund. Almost 20 years ago as a little kid. I appreciate 343 for staying true to the novel. Some slight changes but overall the same. They did a great job
which is absolute bullshit. halo deserves a full on AAA movie trilogy by james cameron and/or robert rodriguez or the like... not some low budget fake ass TV show with hardly any realism. a true spartan II would have to be 110% CGI, no human being/actor could come even CLOSE to accurately representing an actual Spartan. i rest my case
Hey Rocky have you ever reacted to the Halo: Evolutions videos especially the one about the Mona Lisa? I would like to see your reactions on that video
And this is why many fans hope to see a full, faithful, big-budget adaptation of the book someday XD This movie is still alright, but it only covers roughly half the book, and they took MANY other liberties in adapting it that really take away from a lot of the story. Looking forward to your Forward Unto Dawn reaction! If it does get blocked in some areas, you could try uploading it to another source like Google Drive or something like that in addition.
Well you ain’t wrong with how fucked up it all is The book does a better job at describing the lifelong guilt Dr Halsey dealt with over the years. If it makes you feel better 343 will explore the consequences of her actions more than Bungie did
Speaking of Bungie, their lore philosophy was a defined separation between Game lore and Book lore. Extended universe events were not intersecting with game events under their direction. That’s why there was no sign of other Spartans-IIs in the Bungie games and why the pushed the ‘Last Spartan’ deal with Chief. Truth is that’s just ain’t true and the tales of other Spartans during the events of Halo 1 onwards are still there in the books, just separate from Chief’s adventures. 343 has changed that philosophy as you will soon see
@@lohs117 She's certainly one of the most fascinating characters in the series, and yes, in many ways - amoral. In her defence, I do have a few things to say, including on the horrifying - and possibly inflated - projections of human civil war she was told of, in mathematical models and the like. Things that seemed as potentially apocalyptic as the Covenant War itself. All whilst rather nasty incidents of terrorism were being enacted in whole cities or against civilians. Does it exonerate of everything? Not really - but it does somewhat show her mindset, at the time. Coupled with a near godlike faith in her intellect to 'solve problems' and that some were almost impossible to solve for most people. And when I finish my current Halo fanfiction, on fanfiction.net, I hope to delve deeper into her story, and motivations, as well as how the Spartan program ties into the Reclamation, and even a little tie in with some Reach, data-pad-ish related material... Coming soon, in Halo: Shepherds, Angels and Wolves, under author CaptChris42.
God I remember how ugly the character frames and faces were now. The narration from Sam and Kelly were bad in terms of voice acting and dialogue aswell. I cringed every time it ripped a good line from the book and had characters say it without good context. Not a fan of all the dialogue copy pasted from the games. Hate when game dialogue is put into animated or live action form. Also it feels like the people making this were going"Yeah remember that cool thing from that Halo game that Chief said" Its like the package all over again, except the package doesn't have characters moving in slow motion. At least the package had nice action scenes and stunning animation to compensate for the corny spartan characteration.
