That is true, mate. What I thought I’d do though, is to pop a carton of eggs in the oven at the same time as i bake my goods. I usually have boiled eggs in the fridge ready for snacks , so now I have a way to save energy by cooking them in with my other baking rather than extra gas to boil them

4:28 Don’t throw away the skins!!! I make vegan bakun («bacon») snacks of them (often do many almonds at a time, so I have lots of peels or I save up a little at a time until I have a good batch). I let them dry first. I then make a bakun marinade from worchestershire sauce, soy sauce, maple syrup etc. and let the almond peels soak it up. Finally I dehydrate the skins - usually in the oven on very low. It is dangerously good!!! It’s also great to put on top of a salad or something that could use that little extra flavor and crunch. Or just eat it as is, in place of chips or whatever. I promise you one thing, they won’t last long!!! Almond peels are precious!!! 😋😋😋

Oven -made hard boiled eggs: I preheat the oven to 325 F then put eggs in a muffin pan in the oven for 30 mins. I then use a spoon to transfer them to an ice-water bath for 10 mins. Super easy to peel! If you put them in the fridge still in the shells, they are not so easy to peel later.

Massive waste of energy. Don't use the freshest eggs and they will peel easily. Stir while boiling to center yolks. Boil and you can have hard-boiled eggs in 5-7 minutes instead of wasting time and energy heating up the oven.

@@ShroudedinLovePlease have an understanding that people have different ways to do things. We don’t need to put down anyone who has different ideas. They are not “finding faults”. To one the idea of using an oven to bake eggs for 30 minutes might be preferable but to someone else who doesn’t have 30 minutes to spare they would like to boil 6-8 eggs in 8-10 minutes from the beginning to the end. And the water after boiling eggs can be used for cooking other dishes.

If the stem does not easily come out, don't force it. It's not ripe. But avocados ripen after they fall from the tree, so the unripe ones will ripen over time. Putting them in a bowl of flour or a dark drawer helps them ripen.

Glad your channel found me! I'm a new subscriber now. Idea on the avocado - I don't worry about how green / unripe they are. I just put mine in 2 paper bags - not double, but wrap in one then wrap in another - then put on a paper plate. It will ripen up in no time! More than one avocado needs to go in its own paper bag, not together. Then just squeeze the avocado a little through the bag to see when it's ready. If really green & hard, may take a day or two - otherwise just a few hours. Actually I prefer green avocados, so they will keep until I'm ready to use another one. Also, I don't fool with cutting in half & hoping it comes apart from the pit. I cut in quarters, then it peels easily & you can cut it away from the pit easily. Any left on the pit, just bite it off.

I put 4 green avocados in a brown paper bag with one apple. 3 days later avocados perfectly ripe. Store in refrigerator after ripening to prevent from becoming over ripe. Store in ref ridge up to five days after they are ripe. You can cut an avocado in half, just leave the seed in the half you want to use up to five days later.

Thank you so much for the tips on ripeness in avocados and pineapples, they are so hard to get it it right in the store. I was amazed that the egg slicer did not break when you used it to spiral a cucumber. Great tutorial.

You can try this. Bring the stem under your nose and if you can smell the fruit, then the pineapple is ripe. You can use the same trick with mangos.
