Supreme Court on Tuesday heard the case where the Court had taken suo motu cognisance of the rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at the R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. CBI has sufficient technical experts (on staff) to provide detailed explanation on the contents of the storage media. SCI is not interested in that line of analysis. We're from the "peanut gallery" as Dickens would say, just watching the proceedings with confused emotions. What is the purpose of these proceedings except to "order the junior doctors" back to work?

Sibbal-ji did you check the DVR that was handed over? Why would CBI say only 27 mts footage was available in the DVR, if the 7 hour recording was given?

Very difficult to understand how "chain of custody" rules are applied. How can CJI even permit the transfer of "thumb drives" to SGI/CBI without an accompanying catalog of the contents? Sibal provided meaningless identification numbers of several storage media, which had nothing to do with the integrity of the storage media. Can't SCI use guidance from more technically adept law clerks to assist in the matter?

If Mr. Sibbal understand the technical aspects than he must also understand that in the DVR there is capacity to have 7-15days footage depending on the HDD. Than why would you give 27mins or 7-8hours only. Why not all the footage. Because CBI may needs the day before and after that incedent footage. That is crucial for the investigation. Those who deleted the footage they are bloody rascals.
