It makes me angry that everything in a goodwill store is donated, meaning the store got it for FREE! Then they turn around and slap an insulting price on it Every dime they make is pure profit with our donated stuff. I stopped going to goodwill when they started charging as much as retail stores do for new merchandise.

Have you notice the prices has went up in the thrift stores. I’ve been told that they have found out that resellers are buying things and then selling them at a higher price. Makes it hard for the ones of us that don’t resell.

Around here, they pull the color tags that are on sale. Doesn't make sense. You would think they would want to get at least some money for something they got for free. Hard to find any if you're not there on Sunday or Monday.

Recently, I sold Burton Universe Ski Bib Overalls for $69.99 + shipping which were purchased at the local church store for $4. We are so lucky to have this so close to us (4 miles) as there are not many places near West Point Academy, NY. Love it when you make those type sales. You and your wife have a great eye for items. They sell the real nice stuff online, gold jewelry, expensive items, or high dollar fast selling stuff. I've been in a few with crazy prices. They try and act like a retail store that's selling it new. it's supposed to help people who can't afford it new. I was in one there was an old beat-up self playing piano that didn't work. They wanted almost $3,000 for it. I Iooked it up, It was a common one like $500 in that condition. Greed has really changed thrift stores. Everything was donated, Goodwill is known for over pricing now a days. I understand having to pay the workers and stuff like that, but everything is donated. It used to be unheard of to see something for $100 in a thrift store $50 at most.

The most used thing I use for golf clubs is actually magic erasers - they do a great job - they sell them for $75 to $80 - if they were a little cheaper i would the jewelry to see whats inside

Here in Vermont, some furniture is very collectible, brands like Pompanoosuc Mills, Lyndon, Copeland and Shackleton but those are the only ones I would ever pay up for, and even then, the price has to be right.
